That should have happened a week ago, tbh.
But still a decent song. They did a whole mural video with this.

It's unlikely to work out, but if Panic! At The Disco, Foster The People, Neon Trees, and Arctic Monkeys all hit the top 40, and NONONO and 1975 keep their runs going long enough, 1/4 of the CHR top 40 chart could end up consisting of songs that got to top 40 on Alternative (Adjusted for Demons going recurrent soon)
Team Pompeii Hey Brother Chocolate Best Day Of My Life Pumpin' Blood -------------------- Miss Jackson Sleeping With A Friend Do I Wanna Know? Coming Of Age
That is absolutely unheard of, and would be an awesome day for CHR chart.

This is an amazing record. It's been on constant repeat all day long. As I stated previously, this song makes me want to flip my hair like a white girl.

I have a billboard.biz account so I can check the mainstream top 40 charts from 2004.

And yeah, wow. The Mainstream Top 40 of January 24th, 2004 had exactly 10 songs which also charted on alternative.

After that it seemed like a slow decline until it almost disappeared after Shinedown, Boys Like Girls, and Sick Puppies releases. Shows that alt is making a healthy comeback plus even more like HIAM, Cage the Elephant, and hopefully CHVRCHES gets releases. Pretty sure sometime this year it'll hit that all-time high again.

The only people who like this song are Foster the People fans who don't want to say the song isn't good. The song is god awful.

That changed in the 200s to more of the urban/rhythmic flavor for pop radio. Hopefully the trend will come back towards the rock-ier side. It is also interesting to see what was 'alternative' then vs. now.

Alternative radio is pretty much the best its been since the 90s (or at least 2000) right now, so I'm all for all the crossovers.

This doesn't instantly feel like a Pop crossover waiting to happen in the way that "Sleeping With a Friend" does, but it's really good and should still fit in well here. Miles better than "Pumped Up Kicks", in any case.
