The song is actually pretty cute. Pure radio candy just like "Last Friday Night". Would love to see a music video for this song with Katy Beth Terry again. That would be absolutely GENIUS.

I really think that she should be putting out Walking On Air, I never got the hype about this song, really bland in my opinion. I feel Walking On Air is much catchier. I like this. It's catchy and all, but I wanted "Walking On Air" to be released.

So this was the fourth single after all? Shocker.
#1 is unlikely but this song is pure ear candy and I'm certain it will go top-10.

I'm not surprised this is being released since I believe it's one of Katy's favorites on the record, but I would've gone with something else.

So let me get you in your birthday suit it's time to bring out the big balloonsLMAO, so clever I don't even get the dated arguments all that much. It sounds like the Teenage Dream singles more than the other singles but mainly only because the chorus is so fucking pure pop and catchy. The production is more retro (and hence... more 2014) than anything from that album though.

Reminds me of a mixture of Treasure and Domino. Will probably go top 5, but it doesn't feel like a number 1.

Dark Horse was amazing.
This makes me feel embarrassed for her, like she's not even buying what she's selling in this song. If it does well, good for her though.

This song will probably be a big hit. It's catchy enough and its not very dated either, at least for Katy. If Roar did well for her, I don't see why this wouldn't

I really love this. Couldn't stand 'Dark Horse'. This is fun.

The chance of this missing top 10 on pop is like 0.01%. It's just not going to happen. Don't care for this and don't think it will be a massive hit, but it will do well enough.

I haven't been really behind any of the singles this era. However, this is a single that I fully support. The slayage begins.

It sounds like a big hit to me. Melodies are the secret weapon to Katy Perry songs, and "Birthday" has a great, infectious melody. Plus it's lighthearted, fun and summer to a tee. The reason "Unconditionally" flopped is because the melody was drabber than any of her other singles to date, and because of the sappy lyrics; no-one is here for serious love songs from Katy Perry.

I like this more than "Roar" and "Unconditionally".
I don't think it's going to be "massive" by an means, but I can see this performing similarly to "The One That Got Away". It'll do well on radio, but I can't picture it topping the Hot 100 and having the sales of "Roar" and "Dark Horse".

Katy Perry + Generic Lyrics + Generic Production = A guaranteed Top 3 Pop Hit.
Man I was hoping she would stop with the generic and safe pop songs, and show some growth. She was doing good with releasing Unconditionaly and Dark Horse! But here we go again!

This song is a smash, no other way around it. Definitely one of the few highlights for me on an overall mediocre album.

Top 5 for sure.
Radio is so far up her pussy that she could literally record a queef and it would go Top 10.

I just listened to this again and it's probably my second favorite song on the album (behind Dark Horse). I actually would want to hear that Go for it.

Top 5 for sure. Radio is so far up her pussy that she could literally record a queef and it would go Top 10. Actually not totally true. Uneventfully barely made top 10 despite riding the massive momentum of Roar. She's just like anyone else, if she puts a song that doesn't appeal to radio or is too boring her name is only gonna take it so far. Just like Gaga with Judas when she was at the height of her CHR popularity. This will probably go top 5 on CHR just because it's catchier than Uneventfully, but don't bank on it being huge just cause its her. It's too boring and tired for that.
