Written, arranged, produced and performed by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Recorded at The Earth's Core, Glasgow Mastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering, CA Published by EMI Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: – As the previous ones, "5iliconeator" is an instrumental track, which it's included on his second album Ready for the Weekend. It's a chill downtempo song, like "Burns Night", with a slow piano beat thoughout it and random bleeps, which makes you to focus solely on the production and let yourself go. Personally, I think it's the perfect final track (if the bonus track "Greatest Fear" is excluded of course) for the aforementioned album.

Time for another break and this is the beginning of the my eight favourite songs that Calvin Harris produced for other artists. Audio:• Watch the "Where Have You Been" video here. Favourite lyric: "Are you hiding from me, yeah? / Somewhere in the crowd". "Where Have You Been" is a song from Rihanna, which was produced by Calvin Harris along Dr. Luke and Cirkut and it was included on her sixth studio album Talk That Talk. The song was released as the third international single (and fifth overall) off this album and Calvin has also credits for songwriting and engineering. As far as I remember, I think Talk That Talk leaked a week before it came out around my 25th. birthday and it became one of the tracks that I couldn't stop listening to. I mean, it's so addictive and amazing from the beginning until the end and I was complaining why it wasn't picked as the follow-up single of "We Found Love". However, then I realized that her team did the best not releasing it next because it's kind of sonically similar to the previous one and it could have hurt it. Regarding the production of the song, I think Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Calvin did a good job together, joining some of their best beats on it. Also, what I really like about the production itself is that it has the signature Calvin's sirens sound around the 1:00 mark, before the first breakdown. Audio:• Watch the "Holiday" video here. Favourite lyric: "'Cause there's no distance that can stop my persistence". "Holiday" is a song from Dizzee Rascal, which features chorus vocals from Chrome and it was chosen as the third single off Tongue n' Cheek. Besides the production, Calvin has also credits for songwriting and mixing. As I already mentioned, I like this song and I really think the production is incredible. As a consequence, I'm pissed off that Calvin didn't keep it for his album. It's very upbeat and there's a radical change 50 seconds before the track ends when it becomes so trance and rave that I still freakin' love it. Wow! Side note: Calvin originally wrote the song for The Saturdays, but it was rejected. It's still unclear if it was by them or their A&R guy.

If the last batch was about my favourite Calvin Harris produced tracks, why don't I should begin with my Calvin Harris favourite remixes? Audio:• Watch the "She Wolf" video here. Favourite lyric: "The moon's my teacher and I'm her student". "She Wolf" is a song from Shakira, which was chosen as the lead single from her eight studio album of the same name. Audio:• Watch the "We Are Golden" video here. Favourite lyric: "We are not what you think we are / We are golden, we are golden". "We Are Golden" is a song from Mika, which was released as the first single from his sophomore album The Boy Who Knew Too Much. Audio:• Watch the "Waking Up in Vegas" video here. Favourite lyric: "Shut up and put your money where your mouth is / That's what you get for waking up in Vegas". "Waking Up in Vegas" is a song from Katy Perry, which was chosen as the fourth single from her major-label debut album One of the Boys. {Spoiler}Comments for each remix will be posted soon.

Written, arranged, produced and performed by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Recorded at Calvinharrisbeats Studio, Dumfries Mastered by Guy Davie at The Exchange Mastering Studios, London Published by EMI Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: "Wild scenes" (by default)"Wild Scenes" is the b-side from the single release of "Merrymaking At My Place". It's a funky uptempo song with some dance and house elements, as well as random beats throughout it, which I really like. Also, the production is really good and it could be considered as an instrumental track too, but Calvin sings the title track on it. Side note: This is the only track from Calvin which it isn't included on any edition of I Created Disco.

Do you know that Calvin teamed up with Coca-Cola for a summer campaign in 2009? 34 | "Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La" |
Written, arranged, produced and performed by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Recorded at The Earth's Core, Glasgow Mastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering, CA Published by EMI Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: "We love one another / And that's no fool". "Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La" is a song commissioned by Coca-Cola, who asked him to create a track that captured the fun, happiness and optimism of summer, using the 'Yeah Yeah Yeah, La La La' phrase as inspiration, as a part of the Open Happiness platform. It's an upbeat electro-pop tune with some funk and disco elements, which was later included on Calvin's second album Ready for the Weekend and it also had a vinyl release. Moreover, Calvin said the following about the track: • Watch the 1:00 Coke Creatures Ad here. • Watch the 1:30 Coke Creatures Ad here. Remixes:The vinyl release has a remix from Tom Neville, which you can listen to it here. (1) (1) Sadly, the Spotify link is blocked in my country, so I can't give further details about it. However, I found an extended snippet of the track here.

Time for another bonus track, I guess. Audio:• Listen to "Let Me Know" here. Favourite lyric: "If you want me, let me know". Another track that was mentioned in Calvin's bio. "Let Me Know" is a song that was released in a 12-inch vinyl and it was also included on The Unabombers' live-mix CD Electric Soul, Vol. 2, which both of them came out under Electric Chair label in 2004. It features vocals none other than Ayah Marar, who Calvin and her met each other about that time and have been friends since then. A truly friendship to be honest. "Let Me Know" is a downtempo track, with some deep house and R&B elements. Also, there are some bleeps througout it. Personally, Calvin's production and Ayah's vocals work extremely well together, which every time they do is amazing in my opinion. I mean, I just can't get enough of them honestly. Remixes:The vinyl release includes two remixes from JB Pro and The Unabombers. I can't make a comment about the former because I couldn't find the audio, but you can listen to the latter here. It's a 10-min rework (!!!) that it's completely different from the original. It has some disco elements and I also think it has additional vocals from Ayah.

Written, arranged, produced and performed by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Recorded at Fly Eye Studio, London Mastered by Simon Davey at The Exchange Mastering Studios, London Published by EMI Music Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: - "Mansion" is an instrumental track included on 18 Months. It's a deep house track with some beats and riffs all over it. Many people have found similarities with the Daft Punk style on it. One of the best moments of this song is definitely on the 1:25 mark when it makes you to dance all over it. I mean, that drop is amazing! Personally, I'm not sure if I could consider this song as an interlude to "Iron" or as an standalone track, but I will go with the latter. Also, the only thing I could complain about it is that I wish it would have been longer.

While I was doing the comments for "5iliconeator", I mentioned this one. And the fact that it's above "Mansion" is quite interesting, I guess. "Greatest Fear" is an iTunes bonus track from Ready for the Weekend, being an upbeat dance and trance song with some elements of house. It could be repetitive and messy at some parts, but I guess I like that way. I don't know exactly though. Anyway, the effects on the vocals, the synths and the whole production are fantastic! It's one of those songs that gives me an incredible mood every time I listen to. Personally, I wish it would have been included on the physical editions of aforementioned album, but I assume that it didn't make the cut because it's so different from the other tracks.

Didn't even know about "Let Me Know" until you posted it up, but glad to be introduced to it due to this thread. Ayah and Calvin are pretty much a match made in heaven on a music front to say the least. Anyways, enjoying the list so far and loving your format (ie Spotify embedding, the banners, etc) for it too.

One of the reasons of doing this countdown is to make people to know more about the songs that Calvin Harris has done through these years. However, what about his albums? I Created Disco is the debut album from Calvin Harris, being released on June 18, 2007 through Fly Eye Records and Columbia Records, while it got some different distributions deals around the world. Calvin began to write and record the album back in 2006 when he moved back to Dumfries after living in London for two years. All the songs from this album were produced and recorded on an Amiga computer with an audio tracker called OctaMED in his home's studio called Calvinharrisbeats Studio. Three (1) singles were released from I Created Disco, which they were "Acceptable in the 80s", "The Girls" and "Merrymaking at My Place". The first two of them peaked inside the Top 10 in the UK. Meanwhile, the album debuted at #8 on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 16,121 copies. On May 23, 2008, it was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for shipments in excess of 100,000 copies. Tracklisting1. "Merrymaking at My Place" 4:09 2. "Colours" 4:01 3. "This Is the Industry" 3:56 4. "The Girls" 5:15 5. "Acceptable in the 80s" 5:32 6. "Neon Rocks" 3:48 7. "Traffic Cops" 0:54 8. "Vegas" 5:41 9. "I Created Disco" 4:07 10. "Disco Heat" 4:30 11. "Vault Character" 0:08 12. "Certified" 4:06 13. "Love Souvenir" 4:18 14. "Electro Man" 4:58 {UK and Australian iTunes Bonus Track}15. "We Are All the Same" 3:56 {Italian iTunes Bonus Tracks}15. "Acceptable in the 80s" (Tom Neville Remix) 7:11 16. "The Girls" (Groove Armada Remix) 8:04 17. "Merrymaking at My Place" (Deadmau5 Remix) 5:28 {Japanese Bonus Tracks}15. "Rock N Roll Attitude" 3:19 16. "Love for You" 3:52 17. "The Girls" (Groove Armada Remix) 8:03 18. "Acceptable in the 80s" (Tom Neville Remix) 7:16 {French iTunes Bonus Tracks/Bonus CD}1. "Rock N Roll Attitude" 3:19 2. "We Are All the Same" 3:56 3. "Love for You" 3:52 4. "Merrymaking at My Place" (Mr. Oizo Remix) 3:29 5. "Acceptable in the 80s" (Tom Neville Remix) 7:16 6. "The Girls" (Groove Armada Remix) 8:03 7. "The Girls" (Acoustic Version) 3:30 (1) "Vegas" and "Colours" were also released, but none of them are considered officially though. The former got a limited vinyl release in early 2007, while the latter was released as a digital download and vinyl, but a music video wasn't filmed.

"Rock N Roll Attitude" is the b-side from the single release of "The Girls" and it was also included in both French physical and digital editions and Japanese physical edition of I Created Disco. It's a funky uptempo song with some dance and house elements. Also, there are some synthesizers and bleeps in the production. One of the best moments that I really like from "Rock N Attitude" is the random horns that begins around 1:25. I personally think they are so good and unexpected at the same time because it wasn't common to hear them in 2007.

I'm sorry Ellie fans. Wait! I'm also an Ellie fan too Written by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding Produced by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Vocals by Ellie Goulding Recorded at Fly Eye Studio, London Mastered by Karen Thompson at The Exchange Mastering Studios, London Published by EMI Publishing, Global Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: "I've been a stranger ever since we fell apart". "I Need Your Love" is a song from Calvin Harris, which features vocals from Ellie Goulding. It's included on his album 18 Months and as a bonus track on Ellie's album Halcyon. It was released as the seventh overall single and fourth in the US from the former album (1). It's also considered in a sort of way as a single from Ellie in the US too. It's an electropop song with some elements of dance and synthpop, where the production's beat break resembles to the classic Gameboy (not as much as "Bounce" obviously) and it's complemented with Ellie's vocals, making a really good combination. I remember listening to the track when Ellie's album came out and I liked it, but not as I would have expected. Additionally, when Calvin's album was released, it wasn't the same and I wasn't too connected with it. I know. This is so weird because it fits so much better in Calvin's album than Ellie's. However, all of this changed because of the hype of the music video when photos of them kissing surfaced online. This is what Ellie said to Popjustice about her collaboration with Calvin on this track: And she said to RollingStone that she didn't think it would be a hit: Music Video:The "I Need Your Love" music video was directed by Emil Nava and it was uploaded on Calvin Harris' VEVO channel on April 14, being premiered on April 15 at 00:00 GMT. As I said before, I wasn't expecting to see both Calvin and Ellie kissing on the music video, so when it came out, I fell in love in with it (mainly because it was one of the few videos from that era where Calvin appears in a lot of scenes?), getting into the track. Also, I'm not so into PDA, but every time I watch the video, it makes me think: "Why aren't they a couple?" :'( I mean, they look so great together and many people, actually, thought that they were involved in a relationship. Moreover, Calvin described making the video to MTV UK as funny and weird and he added that Ellie and him are "definitely better mates now". Side note: As I explained on the "I Need Your Love" thread, there was a video directed by AG Rojas, which it was filmed before, but it was scrapped. I still have hopes it could leak some time though~ Remixes:The digital release of "I Need Your Love" includes two remixes from Nicky Romero and Jacob Plant and the physical release includes the original version of the song along the former remix. Also, there's a remix that was made by R3hab, but it wasn't released officially (digital or physical), despite it's a really good trap remix with some elements of dubstep honestly. If I have to choose one, I would go with the Nicky Romero remix because of the progressive sound. Also, Calvin usually plays this remix on his DJ sets. • Listen to the Nicky Romero remix here. • Listen to the Jacob Plant remix here. • Listen to the R3hab remix here. Additional comments:This is what Lahey's Lucky Star said about this track: Side note: This is Calvin Harris' most viewed video on VEVO to date. As a consequence, it's already #VEVOCertified, becoming the first to do so. (1) If "We Found Love" is included, it should be noted as the eighth overall single and fifth single in the US.

Mixshows whored out the Nicky Romero remix to that, which was a travesty considering the song held up on its own within a mix already.
Top 30 is good though, though I wish it could have been higher...
Plus, ELLIE.

Audio:• Listen to "Rock Band" here. Favourite Lyric: "And I want to be / the frontman in the / the rock band, in the / the rock band". "Rock Band" is a song from Calvin Harris that was released in a 12-inch vinyl through Xylophone Jones Recordings in 2007, although there's some information that it came out a year before. It's a nu wave track with some dance and disco elements which complements with Calvin's vocals. Despite it doesn't have a great lyrical part, although it isn't a disappointment for me, it's strange to hear that Calvin wants to be the frontman in a rock band when he doesn't want to be it nowadays. Kind of ironic to be honest and it's still a shame. Please, Calvin. Don't forget your roots Anyway, there's a guitar riff in the middle 8 of the track, which it's one of the highlights in my opinion. Also, the "Oh!" he does throughtout the song and, mainly, in the outro reminds me a lot of the "Oh!" he does in "Ready for the Weekend". Remixes:• Listen to Jaimie Fanatic's Frontman Mix here. The vinyl release includes a remix from Jaimie Fanatic, which it's labeled as Jaimie Fanatic's Frontman Mix. The remix goes for a disco root with some electro elements, giving a different touch to it. Also, there are some scratching throughout it and Calvin's vocals has some (extra) vocoders.

Woah, I've missed a lot! #36 "5iliconeator"! I love that song, my favorite song from Calvin without vocals! I think it's perfect for a soundtrack or something like that EXTRAS Where Have You Been... kind of meh. We Found Love who? Holiday is his best production (that is not from his album) ever! Really amazing. The remixes are just ok #35 It's catchy, like the production #34 That's a really weird song, but I love it! I like Calvin's voice EXTRA Wow, I wasn't expecting Let Me Know! It's not bad, but very different from any Calvin Harris song, I like it! Can't believe 10 years have passed since then, #33 Mansion is ok (at least better than half of 18 Monts lol) #32 Greatest Fear! another rare track from Calvin, I love the production #31 We Are All The Same! that song is so cute, I love it I Created Disco: Of course an amazing album. The production is simple, but it works. One of my favorite albums of all time! #30 Rock N Roll Attitude! Calvin's vocals are weird again lol but I really like that one. #29 Certified One of my least from ICD, but not bad in any way #28 It was my least favorite song of all time, so damn repetitive and boring.. but the music video was great! Now I like the song. I think the position is right EXTRA OMG Rock Bad! I love that song, should be part of the countdown! Calvin + rock = crazy lol Can't wait for more! and sorry for the lack of comments, been very busy with school :(

Written by Calvin Harris, Florence Welch and Kid Harpoon Produced and arranged by Calvin Harris All instruments performed by Calvin Harris Vocals by Florence Welch Vocals recorded by Kid Harpoon at The Clubhouse Recorded at Fly Eye Studio, London Mastered by Simon Davey at The Exchange Mastering Studios, London Published by EMI Publishing / Universal Music Publishing Audio:Favourite lyric: "So I put my faith in something unknown / I'm living on such sweet nothing". "Sweet Nothing" is a song from Calvin Harris, which features vocals from Florence Welch, who is the lead singer of Florence + the Machine. It's included on his album 18 Months and it was released as the fifth overall single and third in the US (1). It's an EDM song, which follows the pattern of love-strung vocals where they are layered over a bouncy, ever-building beat. Also, it incorporates laser-like elements and ping beats. I personally think that Florence outshines the song with her vocals: They are just amazing. Calvin's production is really good too, although I don't think it's his best because it follows the same trend since "We Found Love". Despite of this, the vocals and the production complement each other. Also, the beat drop gives me vibes of "Awooga" in a sort of way. So, how this collaboration came out? This is what Florence said to Fuse about it: However, he said that he has been chasing her for almost two years before to get her vocals and when she finally could record the track, he didn't have anything He also describes the demo as "the worst most generic house track". From 97.1 AMP Radio: Also, Calvin told MTV News how he met Florence: Music Video:The "Sweet Nothing" music video was directed by Vincent Haycock and it was uploaded on Calvin Harris' VEVO channel on September 20, 2012. The intro of it includes the track "School" and he describes the video to Fuse as "dark and extreme" because of the treatment he usually does with Vince. Remixes:The digital release of "Sweet Nothing" includes four remixes from Tiësto, Burns, Dirtyloud and Qulinez and the physical release includes the original version of the song along the former remix. Also, there was a standalone release for the remix from Diplo and Grandtheft and Tiësto did a rework of his remix with Ken Loi, which it was later included on his mix compilation album Club Life, Vol. 3 – Stockholm. If I have to choose one, I would go with the Burns remix, although the (original) Tiësto remix is also really good. • Listen to the Tiësto remix here. • Listen to the Burns remix here. • Listen to the Dirtyloud remix here. • Listen to the Qulinez remix here. • Listen to the Diplo + Grandtheft remix here. • Listen to the Tiësto & Ken Loi Re-remix here. Additional comments:This is what Lahey's Lucky Star said about this track: And this is what die Lotterie said about it too: Side note: This is Calvin Harris' second most viewed video on VEVO to date. It's already #VEVOCertified too. (1) If "We Found Love" is included, it should be noted as the sixth overall single and fourth single in the US.

"Sweet Nothing" never gets old, it's still fresh. I listen to it a lot, also the BURNS and Diplo remixes. :)

Sweet Nothing is perfection. I love the emotion that it draws out of you.

Amazing countdown! Can't wait to see the rest of the songs on it! I love the bonus tracks section From the tracks already shared my favourites are Greatest Fear and I Need Your Love. Greatest Fear is a bit messy, but I love it so much anyway. I'm kinda disappointed it was only an iTunes bonus track. The production is simply fantastic I expected I Need Your Love higher :|. I really love the production and the Ellie's vocals (Ok, I'm a bit biased, I'm a big fan of her ). For me is one of the best songs on 18 Months.
