I think Warner Bros. Should push a 6th single. There's no sign that radio is tired of this album and it could be historic if it makes it all the way to the top. Personally I wish Blake would've done it with Stronger material but I can't say he didn't work hard to get were he is. I'm pulling for him to have the record of most #1's from a single album.

I agree 100% about the 'stronger material' point which was spot-on, since I'm still in a state of shock over how a CD which was launched with two very underwhelming singles could possibly win 'Album Of The Year'

I agree, they might as well release a 6th single, especially with how quickly his singles have been flying up the chart. If they do, I hope they go for something with a bit more tempo. "I Got A Finger" is still my top choice, but "Ten Times Crazier" would work, too.

I suppose they could go with a 6th single but I'm guessing they won't. Blake tweeted back on April 23 that he was doing vocals on his "last album" (he always calls his current one his "last" though) so I'm betting they'll have a brand new single ready to go sometime this summer. Maybe a few weeks off after the peak of "My Eyes" and then a new single released sometime in August, perhaps.

As a long-time fan of Rodney Crowell, I have to say that Blake's a reasonable person to tie Rodney's record of 5 #1's from one album. But I'd appreciate it if he wouldn't break the record with a 6th #1 from that same album. 5 is enough. I don't like most of his songs but not too many of them are just awful. How's that for faint praise? but compared to the specter of Florida Georgia Line getting to tie Rodney's record, yikes, that would have struck me as horrendous. I've never seen Paisley as tying the record because he only got there by re-releasing the album with new material on it, but Blake has done this the hard way.

One tidbit that makes the Paisley tie even worse: the re-release was not new material but old unreleased stuff from an old album. New recordings are bad enough but going back to the Time Well Wasted era for a song never intended to be on 5th Gear is something else.

Not a huge fan of Beachin' but I do see it going #1 sooner than later.

It will be interesting to see if Blake and his team push for a second week at #1 or just be content that they reached the pinnacle. I imagine Beachin' will get some HEAVY airplay with the 4th of July weekend coming up.

I long for the day that radio finally says "not today" to his half-assed material and he's blocked from #1. His dominance at radio is absolutely absurd when considering the songs he puts out, this one included.

So happy this song got to #1. I still love hearing it on the radio.

Hmm, funny. I actually think this is one of his best singles ever since his cover of "Home". I may be an easy guy to please since I also didn't mind "Honey Bee" nor "God Gave Me You", but that doesn't mean that I accept mediocrity and trash-fests like DOI, SBCIYD, BRH, MWBY, and even DWSL within the snap of a finger.

I'm inclined to think we'll get an announcement of another single from his current CD within the next 2-3 weeks; he and Luke are locked in a furious race to be the year's most played artist @ Mediabase, and since I haven't heard anything about him recording new music, I'd hazard a guess that single #6 from BOATS is right around the corner, unless he plans to take a hiatus similar to the one Jason Aldean is currently enjoying.
He might even take a shot at racking up six #1 singles from a single CD, which no one at country radio has ever done before AFAIK.

"Small Town Big Time" would be a logical choice (especially if the radio version removes the autotune effect)

Shelton's #1s are all on the Country chart. He may have been talking about CHR, though? Idk about Michael Jackson, but Katy Perry's Teenage Dream era yielded five #1s on CHR as well as the Hot 100.

He was in the studio in late April already doing vocals for his next album, according to his Twitter account.

I stand corrected---sorry 'bout that! No worries, I just figured you'd missed it. I personally feel like "My Eyes" will be the last single from BOATS but I guess you never know... If I had to guess I would predict a brand new single released sometime in August or September, and the album out before the end of the year.

Ms. Jackson had 7 top 5 singles including 5 #1 singles from her 1989 blockbuster 'Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814' CD, one-upping George Michael, whose 'Faith' CD yielded 6 top 5 singles including four which reached #1. Her late brother's 'Bad' CD was the first CD to yield 5 #1 singles, while 'Thriller' was the first CD to yield 7 top ten singles, including two #1 singles.
And as previously posted, 'Everywhere'yielded 5 number one singles @ R&R/Mediabase including #1 singles of the year in both 1997 and 1998, the only CD of any genre to do so; 'For A Little While' peaked at #2.
