It's either a tribute, or they're getting a head start for "My Heart Is Open."

Great exposure either way! Although she should be allowed to perform new music on her own, they gave JT a performance slot in 2013 for his new music.

Gwen looked beautiful at the Grammy's. She always manages to outshine her younger peers with ease. LMFAO. My God. Just announce that this album has been shelved already. I feel like they're still keeping her name out there and her visibility up enough to to indicate that there's still hope for the project. Honestly, for someone who was in hibernation for five years (more or less), Gwen's entry back into the public eye was spot on with the most important exception- her material. She did everything exactly right to re-enter the public eye- a primetime television stint on The Voice, appearances on albums as diverse and popular as Maroon 5 and Calvin Harris, a television commercial, a performance at the Grammy's and other red carpet appearances, etc. Imagine how all of this would have ignited the right song? But flops aside, Gwen doesn't seem to show signs of slipping back into her SoCal motherhood cocoon. Instead it seem she's working overtime to keep her public profile up. I think they're scrambling to get something right tbh.

Yeah she's doing everything right when it comes to exposure. All she needs now is the right song to kick things off. She looked amazing at the grammys, but I wish she could've performed her own material and without A.L.

"My Heart Is Open" has shot up to #25 on iTunes after Gwen & Adam's performance last night - one of the biggest post grammys bump!

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6509510/ask-billboard-britney-spearss-career-sales?page=0%2C2WHAT SHE WAITING FOR? @gthot20 Do you know what happened to the new Gwen Stefani album? Will there be a new single soon? Seems like they canceled it ... @flochjan @flochjan, I went straight to Interscope Records to find out. The latest official word? "Nothing new. She is in the studio." So, for now it looks like "Baby Don't Lie" will have to hold fans over. The single reached No. 21 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart in December, marking her first entry on the list since 2007. "Spark the Fire," meanwhile, inched to a No. 29 peak on Dance Club Songs earlier this month. Interscope's response echoes what Stefani revealed in an interview with Billboard in January. "I had wanted to put a whole new record out, and I kind of could have, but you know when you know it doesn't feel done." Stefani is also focusing on her first solo shows after a six-year break. "I decided to slow down a little bit, and now I've got this [live] show I've been working on, which is forcing me to go back and listen to my old songs that I've never listened to in so long. "But it's been super-inspiring, because now it's like I'm in competition with myself. Like, 'How did I do that? I wish I could do that again.' "

Kind of sad that it looks like her and Fergie both got shelved. Such a shame. I was looking forward to new albums from both.

I still think if either single had been a hit, we would have an album by now. Interscope really should've just promoted both records as promo singles while she was on The Voice and made no mention of an album.

Fergie's single was a complete and total mess though. "Baby Don't Lie" is a solid song, I don't know what went wrong there. I think the problem is it was just too plain; after a hiatus of 7 years she needed a huge, crazy event single. BDL could have been used as a single down the road tho. I don't understand why they shelved it though... seems a little dramatic (although Spark the Fire was a literal mess).

I guess. In my own opinion, that song was really bad. The production was a lazy knock-off of all the other urban beats from the year and that chorus was embarrassing.

I am still bitter they did so much promo for Spark the Fire and ditched Baby Don't Lie almost immediately for it. Like, really, who except for Gwen and maybe one or two of her fans thought Spark the Fire would do anything.

Baby Don't Lie really grew on me. They should've pushed it harder. Sad that this whole project was basically scrapped.

I'd blame both floppages (Gwen's and Fergie's) to horrible promo. LA Love had an initial good long-term strategy, but the video was a bit uneventful and, most importantly, its first live performance came TOO LATE! It proved to connect with the audience when it was performed, and managed to lingered to reach new highs on the hot 100 when it had already started to decrease AI, and even lingered around the 40s/50s on the pop chart for longer.
In the case of BDL, everything was focused on the first week: itunes, video release, mention in the voice. However, The video was even worse than Fergie's, and there was no live performance at all! Had it had an ad promo or even a timely live performance, it could've done much better! I do like BDL better than LAL, but not by a huge margin. The bridge in BDL was lazy awful, and vocal mix was not good either. Plus I think the video version had more oomph than the single version. LAL was maybe too retro sounding but I thought it was effective and fun at least and Fergie sounded like her :)
