I would like to point out that the Billboard Year-End charts came out yesterday, and despite Taylor leaving country music (at least for the time being), she is the number 2 ranked country female artist for 2014, only behind Miranda Lambert. She is number 30 overall on that chart which really just illustrates how poorly females do in country music, but crazy that Taylor has managed this feat whilst dominating the pop world.

Taylor Swift Admits She Drinks, Talks Boys and Sanity in Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating InterviewImpressive bunch! Taylor Swift has found herself in the company of Oprah Winfrey, billionaire businessman David Koch, and Chelsea Handler for inclusion on Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People list for 2014. Us Weekly got an exclusive first look at Swift's interview for the project with Walters, in which the country-turned-pop star discusses her dating life, how she stays sane, and even her drinking habits. "You have such a good reputation," the celebrated journalist, 85, began in her chat with Swift, 24. "You have never been 'the bad girl'… You don't drink. You don't smoke." "I mean, I do drink, I am 25," interjected Swift, who will celebrate her 25th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 13. "So it's not like, I mean… Yeah, I was at a Knicks game and I had a beer and everybody was like, 'Ohhh!' I was like, 'Tsk.'" Though Swift says she doesn't entirely live up to her largely squeaky-clean image, the "Blank Space" singer added that she wasn't sipping on any cold ones before she was legally of age. "I did wait until I was 21 to drink," the Grammy winner explained. "I was so paranoid about getting in trouble or setting the wrong example or sending the wrong message." She went on to acknowledge some of her younger fans, and how they influence her decisions. "I put every one of my actions through a filter before I do them because that's the way my life is," Swift continued. "That the reality… If I do something reckless or thoughtless or careless, or I treat someone badly, that doesn't just affect me; it affects that person. Then, if that story gets out, or some 10-year-old sees that I did that in a news article… my actions do have ripples." While Walters called Swift's reputation and example-setting "a big responsibility," the "Shake It Off" singer said the monitoring presents a positive outcome. "It's kind of a nice thing to keep you in check to live a good life," she said. "It's not like some gilded golden cage that people make it out to be. Living your life the 'right way' and trying to make 'good decisions' is not necessarily some horrible penalty." Said "good decisions" include the choices Swift makes in her much-publicized dating life. After flings with big stars like John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Harry Styles, the gorgeous star has been staying a bit under the radar with her personal life. While she has yet to confirm or deny, Swift is now rumored to be seeing The 1975 singer Matt Healy, though she has been adamant about not having a boyfriend as of late. "I don't see a scenario right now, the way my life is, in which it could work," she told Walters of being in a relationship. "So I don't think about it because I don't like to think about things that I can't solve." After Swift offered up such a calm take on her romantic life, Walters said to the singer, "You seem very sane… It's not that fashionable all the time… You seem very centered." "I think all the time about big concepts in my life," Swift explained. "I don't have answers for everything and that doesn't scare me. I think the reason I am sane is because I have a really good family who are all very sane, in the midst of all this kind of insanity surrounding my life. That really helps — it really helps — cause I can talk to them about it and they are gonna be very honest with me about it. But always, always really supportive." See more from Swift's chat with Walters in Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014, airing on ABC on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 9:00 p.m./8:00 p.m. CT celebrity.yahoo.com/news/taylor-swift-admits-she-drinks-talks-boys-sanity-155500885-us-weekly.html

I'm pretty sure they've already filmed it, they filmed a month before the release Blank Space, and Taylor loves Style as the third single

Speaking of Taylor coming for Katy's record...I see a Kendrick/Taylor collaboration in the near future, probably a remix to one of her singles. It's inevitable.

Style is so overrated to me. Sure, it's great. But it's not the epic smash waiting to happen that Out of the Woods is. I don't see enough love for that one.

1989 Week 1 1,287,000 Week 2 402,000 Week 3 312,000 Week 4 214,000 Week 5 281,000 Week 6 230,000 Total: 2,726,000
Red Week 1 1,208,000 Week 2 344,000 Week 3 196,000 Week 4 144,000 Week 5 185,000 Week 6 136,000 Total: 2,213,000
1989 is outselling Red by over 500k in week to week comparisons. This will obviously just grow up until the end of the year. It'll be interesting to see how 1989 does in January. It seems like across the board year to year the post-holiday drop gets bigger and bigger.

Should be better than "Both Of Us" was. Kendrick Lamar is better rapper than B.O.B is. Taylor doing another rap thing will be cool.It would be awesome if she is on his next album with a song.

It's impressive that she can do almost pure stadiums worldwide this early in her career. It took Madonna decades to be able to do a stadium tour in the U.S.
Which female artists have been able to do stadium shows in the US? I think it's only Madonna and Taylor...maybe Tina Turner. Beyoncé as a solo act hasn't, she only has with JayZ.

Taylor has a fan in Meghan Trainor. :) Meghan Trainor Wants To Finally Meet Taylor Swift at the Grammys "I saw her at the AMAs — I was too scared to say hi," says the "All About That Bass" nominee. Earlier this fall, Meghan Trainor’s debut single “All About That Bass” passed Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” on the Hot 100 and spent eight weeks at the top of the chart before “Shake It Off” eventually took back the crown. The pair of smash singles will now compete against each other in the two biggest song categories at the Grammys — record of the year and song of the year — and following the nominations announcement on Friday (Dec. 5), Trainor tells Billboard that she hopes to finally meet the 1989 superstar at the February ceremony. “I haven’t gotten to meet Taylor Swift yet,” admits Trainor, who has been covering “Shake It Off” in concert over the past few months. “I’m a huge fan. I tried [to meet her], but I haven’t had the opportunity. I saw her at the AMAs — I was too scared to say hi. She looked really busy!” Read All the Twitter Reactions to 2015 Grammy Noms Trainor has been busy herself preparing for a big start to 2015: her debut full-length, Title, is due out Jan. 13, and a North American headlining tour begins in Vancouver on Feb. 11. Meanwhile, the “All About That Bass” follow-up single “Lips Are Movin’” continues shimmying up the Hot 100 chart, hitting a new peak at No. 13 on the current tally. “All the doors are open now,” says Trainor about the success of “All About That Bass.” “Everyone wants to work, and it’s not a struggle anymore like it was when I was 18 and signed to country publishing and no one in L.A. wanted to write with me. Now writers and producers are calling and saying, ‘Is she available for a session?’ It’s definitely changed my whole life.” Trainor says that she wanted “to cry tears of joy all day” when she found out that “All About That Bass” was nominated for record of the year and song of the year on Friday morning. When asked whether she’s rather win the artist-focused record of the year or earn the songwriting win for song of the year, the 20-year-old replied that either one would be unbelievable. “I’ve always been a songwriter, my whole life, and that’s where I’ve worked the hardest,” says Trainor. “And if I got the artist one, I would freak out because that was always a secret desire and wish that I had, but I never had the confidence. I was too insecure, and the message of ‘All About That Bass’ really helped me be the artist that I am today. If I won a Grammy for that, that’d be ridiculous.” Click here for more on this year’s Grammy nominations, including the biggest snubs and surprises. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/6386035/meghan-trainor-meeting-taylor-swift-at-the-grammys

Drowned In Sound - #3 Billboard - #1 And "Style" is up to #6 on iTunes. I'm sure she's happy her VSFS performance of the song was such a huge success, but I hope she doesn't give it a early release and cut Blank Space's run prematurely.

Her Melbourne, AU date at AAMI Park Stadium sold out in one hour, and they've added a second show the next day.
Edit: Adelaide date also sold out, added a second date.

It's so exciting to watch her career. I'm not even a big fan but the numbers she pull in are so amazing that I honestly think all music fans should be grateful for how much she does for the industry. Oh, and this is her best album by far. I'm not even a huge pop fan but this is the perfect pop album. Bad Blood is THE s**t. As someone who despises Katy Perry, it's so clear how the juvenile lyrics are mocking Katy's writing style. Slay on Taylor

I know this may sound crazy but I can see "Bad Blood" working on Urban, especially if she were to add a rapper to the song. If Katy Perry & Lorde were able to go Top 10 on Urban radio I don't see why Taylor couldn't make a dent if they pushed for it.

Wow, looking at the week-to-week sales compared to Red, this is amazing. 1989 at 230k while Red was at 136k! Including the current week, we have 3 more weeks of good sales, right? Could be close to, if not pass 3.5 million by the year's end.
And yes, "Style" will be huge. With "Out of the Woods" as a 4th single, she's in very, very good shape. Not sure what makes sense after that...my other favorites are "Wildest Moments" and "I Know Places" but I'm not sure they are the most single-ready.

The're old, i mean, back in 2007 or 2006, i don't remember it well, i don't think she should release something like that these years, maybe when she's already peaked to stay relevant at least one month one year (?)

"Being named Billboard Woman of the Year for a second time is this amazing early birthday present," Swift said in her opening remarks. "I turn 25 at midnight tonight, and I fully intend to to celebrate like it's 1989." After only polite audience laughter, she added, "I knew it was a bad joke when i wrote it, and I just did it anyway!" "I've taken this year to stand up for my value as a songwriter, as a businesswoman and a content creator," she explained. "I'm very well aware the music industry is changing, and it will continue to change. I'm open to that change and progress. I'm not open to the financial model that is currently in place. I really believe that we in the music industry can work together to bond technology with integrity. And I think we can teach a younger generation about an investment in music, not just the ephemeral consumption of it. I think that there has to be a way for streaming or any future way we access music to fairly compensate the writers. "Events like this where we have the most powerful people in music all gathered in one room, events like this give me hope that the right conversations will start to take place, and I invite you all to join in the conversation," Swift continued. "The greatest moment of the year for me was when my fans went out and proved that if you provide them with a bold statement and pour your life into an album, they'll buy it." "I want to thank Billboard for deciding to make me Woman of the Year for the second time...I really just feel like we need to continue to try and offer something to a younger generation of musicians. Because somewhere right now your future Woman of the Year is probably sitting in a piano lesson or in a girls choir. Today, right now, we need to take care of her. Thank you." www.billboard.com/articles/events/women-in-music-2014/6405600/taylor-swift-woman-year-honor-speech
