I'm hoping there's more "Check The Level" type of songs on this new album than "Lay Me Down," "Spread Too Thin," or "Cabin by the Sea" not that any of those were bad.

This is probably the most poppy and generic song they've done thus far. I don't hate it, but I am not impressed at all. I really hope there's better choices on the upcoming album.
Not really a fan of this one. It's catchy, but that's not enough for me to get into it. I think it's the rap verses that throw it off for me, they just seem out of place.
I don't get it either. Over the last year or two, songs that you wouldn't think would come close to charting on Active end up doing somewhat decently on there.

Active stations in markets where there are no alt stations need to include some alt songs in their rotations to avoid losing audience to HAC stations I guess. Just goes to show how much rock music has declined. There just haven't been enough good new rock bands to replace the aging generation of bands that were big a decade ago, therefore they have to cling onto the music those bands still produce, and although alot of it is still pretty solid, it's nowhere near as good as it was last decade.

That's a pretty good analysis. I think things may pick back up slowly over the next few years. I've noticed over the last month a few songs on Alternative that may have done great 5-10 years ago start to do better than I expected now.
