Actually I don't think the UK counts VEVO views because the track is higher on the sales-only based chart (#26 - www.officialcharts.com/singles-sales-chart/) so looks like streaming (spotify/...) hurt the official position this week

Actually I don't think the UK counts VEVO views That's true. Streaming services are only Spotify, Deezer, Napster, O2 Tracks, Xbox Music and Sony's Music Unlimited in the UK. Anyway, the Official Audio Streaming Chart is up and "Black Widow" is nowhere to find inside the Top 100. I forgot to mention that it's currently at #9 on the UK iTunes, so it had a boost because of the video. Also, its official release there is on September 14, so I assume there will be a remix package out to support the track.

I finally heard this on the radio a few days ago. What the actual fuck with the screeching "YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"s in the chorus? What was wrong with the album version?

The vocal overlays are horrible. The only change I would have made to the album version would be to remove that extraneous bit of beat that comes after Rita sings the first full chorus. Song dies a death during that section - just stick to the rapping or singing.

Been hearing this on radio a lot lately, not realizing who it was. Not gonna freely admit I thought it was Trina ft. Keyshia Cole, but I have definitely been looking it up under the wrong artist during my search for it on iTunes...

While we're on Keyshia Cole, her current single She is great imo (although the dubstep-ish synths in it make it sound a bit dated). Nice to see it in the charts.

Azalea's "Black Widow," featuring Rita Ora, snares a 15-8 advance on the Hot 100, likewise leaping after the arrival of its video (on Aug. 13). The collab climbs 40-7 on Streaming Songs (6.1 million, up 155 percent), 7-3 on Digital Songs (125,000, up 17 percent) and 26-20 on Radio Songs (50 million, up 14 percent). The ascents make it three songs apiece for Grande and Azalea in the Hot 100's top 10 this week. The pair's team-up, "Problem," falls 6-7 (after reaching No. 2 for five weeks); Azalea's former seven-week No. 1 "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, slides 3-5.

What the fuck possesed them to think adding those godawful shrieks would help this in any way? They're probably harming it tbh

This song lost any momentum it had after the video premiere.

I really like this song, and I don't think it's done at all. I still think Top 10 is happening.
But I think the question to ask is whether this song could have flown up the airplay chart had "Fancy" not existed. I think it works as a radio-friendly song because we know Iggy is so hot, but I don't know if it's an inherent, irrefutable pop radio smash. It's all about context.
The Iggy/Fancy boost got it this far - now I think it's coming down to how well the song sticks. The indecision/slowness we're seeing now is what we probably would have seen in the 35-40 range had Fancy not put Iggy on the map.

This song lost any momentum it had after the video premiere. but it surged to #4 on itunes afterwards and now is steadily keeping its position in the top 10? edit: i do agree though that its radio success so far is because of fancy.
