"Say It Ain't So" screams Rock hit to me and it didn't even chart. "Hash Pipe" should have done better as well.

Those are some nice out of the gate #s Yeah, well active is a mess & in commercial decline, so it'll do whatever it can to attempt to pry listeners away from alternative. If that means jumping all over a new Weezer single, then so be it.

I do now. Thanks. Free regestry sounded good to me too.
Anyway, the studio version sounds so much better than that live one. Surprise to see it catapult onto number 28 outta nowhere, but it is Weezer. Had to listen to it 3x in a row to really feel its groovy vibe.

This song is horrible. The fact that this is getting airplay means I need to stop listening to the radio.

This song is horrible. The fact that this is getting airplay means I need to stop listening to the radio. Don't worry about it. The only problem is that I got turned off of Weezer at the wrong time and wouldn't be surprised if both single and album goes #1. Kind of reminds me of "Beverly Hills" and it stayed on the Hot 100 for nearly a year and I supposed it will be the same result this time. I guess I can listen to Imagine Dragons and Bastille and my favorite country groups until the storm of Weezer blows over.

Insane debut. I wouldn't be surprised if it debuts at its peak and just bleeds spins down to nothing in the coming weeks.

This is crazy since "Memories" only peaked at #21. Strange how that did so poorly when every other debut single since "Hash Pipe" besides "Dope Nose" (which peaked at #8) peaked at #1 or #2. I'd assume this will hit Top 5, but I wouldn't be surprised either if it didn't last long up there on the chart and dropped a bit quickly.

Um, U2's "Invisible"? Though that didn't have that long of a chart run (or a high peak) anyway

Na Na Na by My Chemical Romance peaked at #10 and spent only 9 weeks Yeah, well what happened with "Get On Your Boots" and what used to happen often is that lead singles like that would debut high, peak within a couple of weeks, and freefall down to the #30-40 range and hang around with about 250 spins for several weeks before actually falling out.

Any other examples? I don't want BTTS.to have longevity, just a high peak, so a Na Na Na esque situation would be fine

While we're at it, U2's "God Part II" did it too. That was in 1989. Doesn't count. Besides 3 weeks and a number 28 peak ain't what I Mean

Off the top of my head, Nickelback's "Gotta Be Somebody" was similar. Spent the majority of it's 17 weeks near the #30ish range despite peaking at #10 in it's 2nd or 3rd week. It fell so fast after that peak.

VH probably woulda done alot better, in fact due to Coldplay's popularity at the time I think it may have gone #1, if VLV didn't shove it aside. What ended up happening was VH was pushed to around #30 and spent enough time there to go recurrent, because some stations chose to keep playing it over the poppier VLV.
