Didn't know that I was bashing just stating that supposedly Rivers wrote BTTS by himself when in fact it was done with a co-writer. That's all I said and I guess what everyone else said on here against BTTS is considered bashing too. ...really, have all the other posts by you in this thread been completely wiped out of your mind or wut bash may be the wrong word but you definitely like to...say whatever is on your mind that is negative towards Weezer How does an opinion like BTTS not making Top 20, calling Rivers a hypocrite for saying that he wrote the whole album by himself when it's not, not buying the new album, saying that PledgeMusic is a mess and they are high on everything, Florida Georgia Line being the biggest artists on Republic, etc. considered bashing? It's not like I'm saying "I hate Weezer" hundreds of times it's just that I'm sick and tired of Rivers saying one thing and then another and lying about it. I haven't been a huge fan since Red anyways so I'm just saying my two cents about it because fans keep saying that it's a comeback, etc. etc. And no I don't have a personal agenda with them but it's their music put out by Rivers since 2009 ("I'm Your Daddy", "Can't Stop Partyin'", "Back to the Shack") is what I'm really against.

This is a lot better than I thought it would be. I've never been a big Weezer supporter or hater, but this has a nice rock edge and the self-referential and reminiscent lyrics work for me.

Meh, seems likes he hates new Weezer if anything Except for "If You're Wondering" and "Memories" I had liked every album of theirs until Rad and Hurley and bought both of them to see what they were like. Turned out except for both singles from each of them the rest of the songs were mediocre to bad. The bonus songs on the deluxe version of Hurley were the ones I liked the best. I'm sorry that you think that my opinions about Weezer are bashing them but I still think BTTS sucks and will be the first album of theirs that I won't buy. Now if you will excuse me I'll jump back over to the country boards on here where I apparently belong than here as my opinions about BTTS and the new album are for naught and we agree to disagree on everything that I said on this page. Bye bye for now on this subject. You can post your own bashing posts but count me out of it as of right now.

But don't worry, Green Baron is talking to a band in hopes of canceling their promotion plan.

Hey man, I'm not bashing on you, I'm trying to help bro. You're right, that was harsh. But it's far from the worst song on the chart, and yelling to a band like that that's trying to reach out just seems mean.

Well, I was referring to drummerman, who thought I was bashing him for hating Weezer when I was actually trying to defend him by saying he can only be disappointed for so long. I actually didn't find your post harsh, it made me laugh tbh but it's close to the worst song and does not deserve +300 bullets when Rise Against, Bad Suns and Seether are struggling to fight for their careers.

I'm Canadian, I'm programmed to apologize regardless of the situation. How are Bad Suns fighting for their careers when they're still on their first single? Seether simply doesn't fall in line anymore with Alternative's sensibilities, but Rise Against has no excuse.

OK. My thoughts about the lyrics of BTTS. Not a bash but my own opinion.
1. "Maybe I (Rivers) should play the lead guitar and Pat can play the drums.": On their 2009-2011 tours Rivers actually chose Josh Freese to play drums and Pat relegated himself to lead guitar both of them were their choices. I didn't think that it was a fiasco since it got the chance for Pat to sing backup and hone his lead guitar skills.
2. "I thought I could get a new audience but I found out disco sucks": If this refers to Ratitude and Hurley then I can see a point there. Rivers tried to write songs that cater to younger people who attend their concerts now and failed at it.
3. "Had to go and make a few mistakes to find out who I am.": See #2
4. "We belong in the rock world, there is so much left to do, if we die in obscurity, oh well, at least we have raised some hell.": Had this been done in 2009 I would have embraced this and maybe the whole album but since Rivers decided to do what he did with Raditude and Hurley I really don't trust him with anything musically.
On a personal note: I'm really not a hardcore fan (hardcore being the fans fawning at them like they're something on a stick and professing their love of them on Facebook and Twitter which I consider spamming to a degree liking all of their songs and thinks that everything is their best ever and bragging that they have been to 100 concerts, attended both cruises, etc.)) but I'm not one of those who is exclusively fixated on Blue and Pinkerton like some fans are. I liked all their albums up until Raditude and Hurley and Rivers had bring in Lil' Wayne into "Can't Stop Partyin'" and using Kenny G. in one of those AOL Sessions for Raditude. Someday I might be able to forgive Rivers and Weezer in general for all of their shortcomings but since they have sold out their souls to their PledgeMusic fund and sucking in their fans in paying exorbitant prices for a CD and a fan club membership that is probably something I would not handle since the last time they toured San Antonio was in 2001 so meeting and greeting them will probably never happen for me but this has put me off of Weezer big time so if that is what makes them happy (money and their obsessed fans) then have at it.

I really like this song. It is no Pork and Beans (such a witty, catchy, and self-aware song),however, it is a solid B+ for me. I love the chorus and the bridge. The verses are the only thing that could have been improved. On the other hand, the more I listen to this;the more I love it. This song is filled to the brim with nostalgia. I really do hope this album is as amazing as Blue, Pinkerton, and Green. However, I have liked every album of theirs but Make Believe (Yes, I do like Beverly Hills). I am not gonna be one of those people, "Blue is.....", "Why can't they go back to Pinkerton......" etc.

I was afraid to listen to this since people were comparing it (sometimes unfavorably) to "Memories", which I really didn't like. I actually don't think this is as bad as that song, but it's still a little too cheesy for me. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if this became a hit - despite their attempt to position this as a return to their roots, the single it reminds me the most of is "Beverly Hills", which the general public ate up.

I'd actually really like this song if not for the "Back to the Shack" line itself. It just sounds...off. Everything else is as good as you'll get from post-Blue and Pinkerton Weezer.

Weezer on Active certainly isn't unheard of. On BB Mainstream Rock, their history is as so: Undone (The Sweater Song): #30 Buddy Holly: #34 Hash Pipe: #24 Beverly Hills: #26 We Are All On Drugs: #35 Pork And Beans: #25 Troublemaker: #35 I'd look for this to end up somewhere in the mid 20s, it just fits on Active.
