You can't do better than 2009, that will always be the year to match. However, people shouldn't be so harsh on MTV about this.. it's impossible to exceed expectations each year. Whether Katy Perry performs or doesn't perform has not much to do with the overall status of the show.

I love that we are always finding ways to try to get someone to listen to our flop faves. No YOP thread, RT theme, or Games section stone will be left unturned in our mission to get somebody, anybody to validate our taste in music. That is when you know the love of the music is real. Like "LISTEN TO THESE SONGS THEY'RE GREAT DAMMIT PLEASE GIVE MY FAVES 0.0000002 CENTS ON SPOTIFY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD." It's the modus operandi of Pulse so much at this point.
This is one performance away from reaching the top 10 on the hot 100 and having the success it deserves. If she doesnt perform this, it will probably peak in radio in one month with around 80M AI
Does anyone know what the next few events coming up for potential TIHWD performances are?
probably none.
it's supposed to be featured on the front page of iTunes very soon, which imo, is just as good as any award show. The Pop section seems to have done minimal damage, but i'm not surprised by that as I never go beyond the front page myself. However, it's still doing very well for the amount of airplay it has.

I'm conflicted about a performance - on the one hand, I'd like to see what twist/interpretation she gives; on the other, I kind of like the video to be the definitive visual for the song. I still see this being a sports-related song with non-traditional exposure at colleges, high schools, etc. One of the great things about the chorus is that it is very RELATABLE to a lot of people in different aspects of their lives.
On a side note - had Katy kept Black Widow would it have been a monster smash or a DH derivative? There are a lot of similarity - at least to my ear. I'd LOVE to hear Iggy & Katy perform this one day

I hope she would at least perform it once on Ellen or Jimmy F. or Jimmy K. Just one performance, then I'll be okay. and It will definitely help the song.

I forget what the stupid reasoning was, but the original won't be on the front page of iTunes. Instead, however, it is listed under "Hot Tracks" in the Pop section AND the remix is in the first slot under "What's Hot" in the Pop section.

Just heard the Riff Raff remix. They did it 100% right. They cut that stupid "this is for all you people going home with blah blah blah" crap out and added a rap verse. I actually think I can jam to this now.
