This needs to stay #1 until "Shut Up And Dance" is ready.

Why do I start what I can't finish?

Well, I'm just randomly speculating, but Muse are in the studio and have been recording since the start of October...so if they finish up anytime soon all they have to do is release a single and it's a guaranteed #1 within 2-3 weeks That's true. Muse are one of the biggest bands on Alternative right now, so unless they pull a Linkin Park, they should also be guaranteed a #1 (probably enough to challenge the Foo Fighters). They will pull a Linkin Park, they repeatedly stated they are going back to their roots for this album.

Muse's roots are still very alternative friendly, they include songs off albums 1-3, which include "Plug In Baby" and "Hysteria", both are songs I'm certain would be huge today if they got released.

If Muse made a metal album I don't know what I'd do.
And Cody, "Hysteria" did go top 10.

If Muse releases another album of "Black Holes & Revelations" caliber, I'll be very happy. "The Resistance" was a major disappointment and "The 2nd Law" was a minor disappointment(Even though it was my #6 album of the year) for me.
Also now that I've finally listened to the Sonic Highways album fully, here you go;
I Am A River > Something From Nothing > Outside > Congregation > Subterranean > The Feast and The Famine > What Did I Do? > In The Clear

Also, @ I Am A River

Also, Foo and Royal Blood at Citi Field sounds like a good lineup.

I'm a not really a fan of songs staying at number one for too many Weeks, unless they are personal member charts.

Absolution > Black Holes IMO but agreed on Resistance being underwhelming. Also, @ I Am A River origin of symmetry > absolution Well, yeah, but OOS is > almost every album in existence, so that's not a fair comparison. :)) I'm really happy to see this song hit #1 on both Alt and Active. This probably won't lead to a bunch of more rock-leaning songs hitting the top 10 on (or even topping) the Alt chart, but it's still a welcome sight to see the Foos dominate rock radio, just as they have always done. This is one thing that hasn't changed that I'm really glad to see.

Is this the first song to hit #1 on active and alt since "Check My Brain"?

Linkin Park's "Burn It Down" hit #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs on June 30 and Alternative Songs on August 4, one week each in 2012. "Walk" was about a year earlier, but it did have a few shared weeks at #1, unlike "Burn It Down".

Is this the first song to hit #1 on active and alt since "Check My Brain"? There's Billboard bafflegab above, but assuming Burn It Down was a #1 on both Mediabase alt and active IIRC.

1 1 FOO FIGHTERS Something From Nothing 2021 2095 -74 6.066 2 2 FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Wrong Side Of Heaven 1936 1964 -28 5.435
Looks like this'll stay at #1 on Active for a while longer; it gained back a bunch of spins, and FFDP has also lost a few as well.

Listening to Nickelback latest and this album, give me a clear picture, I think we should finally do the switch.
Foo Fighters is really the "Nickelback" of today's radio rock. A band that has released the same safe, boring ass middle-of-the-road for now what...20 years. My god, this song is so boring, the only thing worthwhile is the Holy Diver ripoff and takes makes you just listen to Dio instead. By far the most boring song in the active top ..lets see 15 I guess.

Wait, what are we switching, and how do we do that? This might be the most confusing post I have seen in here.

"I think we should finally do the switch"?
I guess he means we were all waiting to switch Nickelback and Foo Fighters' places.

Comparing the Foo Fighters to Nickelback is insanity.

This is far from my favorite Foo Fighters track, but comparing them to Nickelback is absurd. Their career trajectories are nothing alike.

Hence all of the confusion. Until Nickelback at least gets a second #1 single (compared to Foo Fighters having ten), they're going to be difficult to compare.

Well, you could compare Nickelback's 8 #1's vs. Foo Fighters' 5 #1's.
