Wow, 8 songs? From the titles, it sounds like the songs will be epic. Downside: they probably won't be exactly radio-friendly. I wonder how they'll fare.

The songs on the album are gonna be long as hell, I can already tell. Some Justin Timberlake sh*t.
ETA: It's 44 minutes, average of about 5:30 per song.

Wonder if they'll pull a Linkin Park and go extra-heavy this time around. Lead single should be dropping pretty soon.

Perhaps the lead single will be even radio friendlier than "Best of You", while still being epic. Hopefully we get news on the single soon as well.

"Something from Nothing" sounds good by the title and maybe the first single? I liked it haha
4. "What Did I Do?/God as My Witness"
This one sounds like will be the longest track on the album, so I bet the others will have like 5 minutes at most.

I'm intrigued by the album only being 8 songs. Since it's Dave Grohl, who is a workaholic & a perfectionist, Im anticipating 8 very strong songs with no filler.

From what I understand they were recorded in eight different studios and will have have at least one featured artist on each track.

That is a pretty sweet cover with many major landmarks.

Yeah i really like the album cover, but if they're only going to have 8 songs on the album, then they better have some really solid singles (although they always do so I probably shouldn't even be worried). What kind of featured artists are going to be on it though? Is it just guitarists or is it singers as well too? I would not be surprised at all if Zac Brown appeared on the album in some sort of way because Dave produced their last 4 song EP, and said if he wasn't in the Foo Fighters that Zac Brown Band would be the band he would want to be in.

I'm super duper mega excited for this album. Can't go wrong with some Foo, even if they're likely to give the Alt chart the middle finger in favor for some heavy rock and roll.

Grohl is a fan of indie rock, unlike Linkin Park. I don't think they'll let hate cloud their judgment. I remember in 2008 when in an interview he said he listened to Arcade Fire every morning.

Not that they hate indie music, but they certainly dislike the current state of the format.

I got the impression that they were subconsciously creating an indie-rock-pop album and snapped out of it to create a harder-hitting album that was more true to themselves.

"That was Muse with 'Panic Station', and before that you heard Weezer's latest, "Back To The Shack". As promised, here's a brand new rockin' track from Linkin Park, and it's called 'Anna Sun'. Enjoy!"

Depends on the format. Only a few on alt but probably longer on active rock.

Yes, the poll was for Billboard Alternative. I doubt they'll have as much success on 3A or Mainstream.
