A thread was started and locked last month, so pm the mod's about it. Oh, Drew from US99 told me it was the new single when I asked him to ask Sugarland about it yesterday.

^"Now I can't laugh, can't cry I can't run, can't hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide What do I gotta do, what do I gotta do to keep you? What do I gotta do to keep you from doing this to me?"
I hope this is the next single, it's not too radio friendly but I would like to hear it on radio. It's very powerful.

It was reported to be their new single...Also the Eli Young Band just filmed a video for "Guinevere" so that song may be their new single too.

Josh Kelley Signs With UMG NashvilleSINGER/SONGWRITER JOSH KELLEY SIGNS WITH UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP NASHVILLENashville, TN (November 19, 2009) - Singer/songwriter Josh Kelley goes back to his Georgia roots and joins the Universal Music Group Nashville family. Kelley signed with the label in September and is currently in the studio recording his forthcoming album, slated for release in 2010. “Universal is a perfect home for me and my music,” said Kelley. “They have an awesome track record of allowing artists to be who they really are, and have already been so supportive of my new music. I’m stoked to be part of such a talented group of artists and staff.” Prior to marrying his wife, actress Katherine Heigl, Kelley made his home in Nashville. He happily returns for this project and is eager to share new music with his fans. “I could not be more excited about adding Josh to our UMG family,” said UMG Nashville’s VP A&R Brian Wright. “The creativity in his lyrics and passion to be the best artist he can be is second to none. Josh is an artist who sings from his soul and it makes you listen to every word of every song. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear this record.” For More information regarding Josh Kelley please visit www.joshkelley.com or www.myspace.com/joshkelleyJosh Kelly Country EPK Source: UMG Nashville Website

In connection with kevin59's post about Josh Kelley, EW.com's Music Mix blog has a thirty-second clip of a song he wrote called "Gone Like That." The blog also notes that Josh Kelley is the older brother of Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley.

This is great news. He has a great voice and his last album (only made available at Target) was quite good. Will be interesting to see what this project ends up sounding like.

I thought this quote from Lee Ann Womack was funny (from Country Aircheck):
"I'm trying to figure out what to wear ... because you can't out-starch George and you can't out-spangle Reba," Womack says.

Josh Kelley is going to be huge. I have all of his pop stuff and it's just tremendous, but he's never been given the faith to do his own thing.
He's going to have a Darius-esque 2010.

Lance Smith and CMT have parted ways Smith wanted to focus on his acting career more. If you're going to post a claim of fact, please be sure to post a link to a credible source for that claim (Wikipedia does not qualify; the source should be an industry trade or a legitimate media publication). That goes for all threads, not just this one. For those who missed it the first time or those who wish to revisit the show, the Grand Ole Opry has made its 14 November show, its debut live broadcast on MySpace, available for on-demand replay for a limited time at the Opry MySpace page. The show featured sets from Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Jake Owen and Rodney Atkins. According to this press release from the Opry, the live stream of the show drew more than 300,000 viewers. I believe Nan Kelley said that the show would be made available online for one month; I'm guessing the show will be available until the rumored 20 December TV broadcast on GAC. I haven't watched the broadcast from start to finish yet, but I watched the sets from Martina and Carrie and thought they were really worth watching. Martina sang "This One's for the Girls," "I Just Call You Mine," a gorgeous and moving version of "I'm Trying" and "You're Not Leavin' Me." Carrie opened the show with "Cowboy Casanova" and then came back to perform a heartfelt and beautiful version of "Temporary Home," "Mama's Song" and "Last Name" (probably my favorite performance of that song).

How anyone can consider IHYD "uplifting" is beyond me. It's a bunch of motivational posters set to music. It's the kind of song that makes me surprised Martina didn't get to it first.

^Isn't that hinted at in the video? I know there's some hint of a war in the video, but I've only seen it once.
