Billboard.biz reported a new album will be out this year. They've had a handful of top 10s, but I'm not sure I've heard or liked much since "The Diary Of Jane."

Yes! their last album came out in 2009, called "Dear Agony". "I Will Not Bow" was a huge hit back in the day, and still remains a great workout song to this day. Hope they can come up with something as good this time around.

I think I remember "I Will Not Bow." But honestly Breaking Benjamin and Crossfade always blended as the same band in my head. It didn't really help that they both broke big the same year with songs about "Cold."

This is awesome news. Breaking Benjamin's albums have been spot on awesome. I guess if you're not too familiar with both them and Crossfade, they might seem similar, but they're quite different as far as sound.

I don't know any other songs from Crossfade. But Breaking Benjamin had some popular power ballads that distinguish themselves as I check their chart history. I guess when they first became known I had trouble telling them apart.

Their first 2 singles are always epic. Ive only ever listened to "Phobia" in full though. I predict this will be another WTF ALTERNATIVE thread too

I don't know any other songs from Crossfade. But Breaking Benjamin had some popular power ballads that distinguish themselves as I check their chart history. I guess when they first became known I had trouble telling them apart. Breaking Benjamin had some minor hits before "So Cold" like "Polyamorous" and "Skin," but yeah "So Cold" really broke them out. I would classify them more as a nu-metal band than Crossfade whom I feel has a bit more of a grungy style after their first album. "So Far Away" and "Colors" from Crossfade's first album still did very well, but the other singles from the last two albums they released just did decent. Personally, I didn't like those albums nearly as much as their debut and they both just seem kind of "watered down" so to speak I guess. Overall, Breaking Benjamin has had more success than Crossfade over time.

Never been a huge fan of these guys but I hope to see them prove me wrong this cycle.

This band has consistently impressed me since "The Diary of Jane" although "So Cold" and "Sooner or Later" were enjoyable as well. Nice to see them (him?) return.
And is it too much to ask for Alternative to consider this song? Their track record is about on par with Chevelle...

^ Well, its probably too much to ask for the majority of today's alternative listeners to enjoy anything new from Breaking Benjamin, lol.

Loved "The Diary of Jane" and "I Will Not Bow" (just kidding, I liked "Give Me A Sign"), but I've never really been a fan of this band. I'll probably give this a listen when it comes out though.

I think I remember "I Will Not Bow." But honestly Breaking Benjamin and Crossfade always blended as the same band in my head. It didn't really help that they both broke big the same year with songs about "Cold." Yeah, both songs spent about a year on the rock charts. Did both of them hit #1? I'm not sure, but I thought one of them claimed the record of slowest climb to #1. Also, the Crossfade song spent about 25 weeks on the CHR chart, taking forever to reach its #22 peak. All in all, the Crossfade song must've spent some 1.5 years on the charts. It was also around that time that Cold scored their last true alt hit with "Happens All The Time" and Evans Blue hit big with "Cold (But I'm Still Here)" :) As dm2081 mentioned, lots of these songs were perfect for workout/running/cycling. Putting the 'Active' in Active Rock I guess. Back on topic, I've always wondered why BB, along with other bands from the golden era of 'Melodic Active Rock', were never quite able to recapture the spirit of said hit singles. Instead they were either purged away by the short-lived cock-rock revival (Crossfade, Evans Blue) or confined to active rock only... As for BB, I wish them all the best, even though it's completely unrealistic these days to hope for another hit the size of So Cold, Breath or Diary Of Jane. By the way, as I'm writing this I started spinning that old Evans Blue album: "Beg" really is the single most underrated song from that era, even though I remember it being a legit hit single in the Houston area.

A new Breaking Benjamin album...guess Burnley got his act together. But I have loved every album they have made, so I'm hoping this will not disappoint.

Breaking Benjamin has had some really killer singles. "The Diary Of Jane": thier best ever! "So Cold" and "Give Me A Sign" were also great. Looking forward to thier new material, so long as it stays true to Rock sound.

The band posted this video to their Facebook: Possibly a clip of the first single? Also I see that there's 5 members now, none of who have been in the band in the past.

This thread is surprisingly dismissive for one of the best acts of the past decade on active.

That 15 second clip sounded amazing. I have a feeling this will be a huge Active hit, maybe even a multi-weeker like "Something From Nothing">

I'm hella stoked for this, this could potentially be the biggest Active hit of the year.
