I agree about "Ordinary Love" That was the best U2 single since "Magnificent". I wasn't a big fan of "Invisible". It had one of the worst intros of a song ever and it was just weak all over. I'm really digging on this new single. The chorus is great.

Well "Every Breaking Wave" now has 7 adds this week, plus some programmer has "Volcano" as a hot pick
Can't help but wonder if making so much new music available at once is hurting this one's chart success

U2's first album came out in 1980. 15 years ago, this would have been the equivalent of playing a band from 1965.
Just putting things in perspective.

I considered their age to be a possible reason that this was underperforming, but I didn't know it was that extreme. It surprised me myself. It is a good point. How were the Rolling Stones doing 15 years ago (or whatever album they put out around that time)? The last Stones song I remember having any sort of impact at all was Has Anybody Seen My Baby, from maybe 1997 I think? They did have a few hits prior to that. Their cover of Like A Rolling Stone from 95 (with that awesome video) and my favourite Stones track Out Of Tears from 1994. But the perspective thing has always interested me. The fact that many expect U2 to attain hit singles 30 or so years after first hitting it big says a lot about their longevity.

I always thought Saint of Me was the bigger track, but everyone else always remembers Has Anybody Seen My Baby. The Beatles also had success with "Real Love" in 1996.

This has grown on me a bit. It's not something I love, but it's definitely not a station changer and the chorus has especially grown on me. So maybe I'll check out the album, probably going to listen to a few singles first to decide if it's worth it.

I think this is pretty good. Not their best (Invisible was better), but still very listenable. I was surprised to see that this got 6 adds this week while "Every Breaking Wave" got 7. Is this going to be another case where two songs cannibalize each other?

Doom & Gloom went top 10 and One More Shot hit top 30. I think it was the regular Rock chart not active. The one where Kiss and Aerosmith also went top 10 with their last albums.

Don't Stop in '02 hit at rock and triple A. Probably the songs from A Bigger Bang, too, their last studio record. Then they had a charting single a couple years ago.
