Her performance at the Grammy's was weak... and i'm saying it as an outsider, a casual listener

I was a little disappointed by her performance on Monday night. She absolutely KILLED this when I saw her live last year, but it all felt very anti-climatic to me at the Grammys.

I thought her performance was great, but I never saw any of 1989 Tour ones so it may have sucked compared to them

It's weird because when compared to its radio performance, you'd have no idea it was tanking as hard as it is.

It's weird because when compared to its radio performance, you'd have no idea it was tanking as hard as it is. That's because it tanked suddenly, it was rising at good rhythm and suddenly crashed

It had a long life as a fan favorite as well, I imagine she'll continue playing it live in the future.

I still love this song, it's probably my favorite from 1989 (Style is a close second). Aside from the fact that it's a sixth single and people are probably tired of her, I can't understand why it's flopping. It's tailor-made for pop radio.
Hopefully her next album is not released this year. Love her but she needs a break and this song stalling might be a sign.

I guess I'm on the other end of the spectrum, where I have never understood the love for this song? So I guess because of that, I wasn't expecting this song to be a big hit based on its own merit. I agree with not releasing new album this year as well. A longer break will do her good.

Well, i doubt she will release a new album. She must be tired because she promoted the album non stop from the release. If she wants to not dissapear from the public eye too long she can make a collaboration with one of her multiple singer friends in the meantime

Yeah I actually adore the song, but don't think it is tailor-made for radio. In fact, I think that is why in the beginning Taylor nixed the idea of having it as an actual single. Ultimately, I am ok with her releasing it though. I think its fine for a pop star to have the occasional under-performer to diversify their catalog.

Ultimately, I am ok with her releasing it though. I think its fine for a pop star to have the occasional under-performer to diversify their catalog. It is probably my favorite up-tempo-ish song on the album. I think it was a good move to release it - the production is different and shows another facet to the sound of the album. Plus, it was already at top 20 hit, so it was guaranteed a decent peak before it was even released as an official single. Not saying that had anything to do with the decision to release it, but, hey.... a top 20 is better than a possible top 50 if it didn't do that well... and alas... it didn't. I don't like any talk of her releasing another album anytime soon... that would be a bad idea, imo. Huge eras can afford - and need - plenty of breathing room. It's gonna take awhile to write an album that she feels tops 1989, and I think she said herself that she's not interested in recording until that happens.

I just want her to surprise us all and perform New Romantics tomorrow night and announce that as the actual 6th single. OOTW was just a buzz single for the Grammy's ;) Lol if only she would have actually performed NR on Monday..

Not the station in my area just starting to play this as "brand new music from Taylor Swift" :'( They were pretty fast on the other five :/ Hearing it on the radio just makes me sad that it didn't do much on CHR (compared to the others).

I really hope this is okay...just wanted to share this observation somewhere and I wasn't sure of the proper place to post a new thread for this topic (please let me know if I shouldn't have bumped this...where would you have posted it? lol thanks) Anyways, I was curious...have any of you still been hearing this as a recurrent on any radio stations? I have one local station where I have been hearing it a decent amount since it was released as a single in December/January (can't remember which one). Also, I have caught in on Sirius XM's Hits 1 as well a couple of times months after it's release. Thought that was pretty fun/interesting. It's been great hearing it every now and then for sure!

I have heard this and "New Romantics" on my local station lately, though my station often plays lower-peaking songs as recurrents.
