- Looks like AT40 had some catching up to do with five debuts this week.
- With "Ain't It Fun" falling off, "Latch" officially has sole possession of the oldest song in the countdown. Who'da thunk it?
- "Hideaway" does get additional play as an Extra despite falling off the countdown this week
- With the latest hits by Ed Sheeran and Tove Lo cracking the Top Ten this week, there was no Two-For-One which likely explains the extra Breakout.
- No indication as to when Taylor Swift will be guest-hosting AT40 soon but it might be next week ... just in time for her to end Meghan Trainor's run at #1 perhaps? Stay tuned.

I really like the catch up week this week. Five new chart entries and looking like a fresh chart. Next week, SIO is likely to take over #1 as the Mediabase chart had 3 weeks at #1 for AATB, then SIO is there now.

Oh, good...it appears this week's show is back to the standard opening with the top 3 recap. I don't know what they were thinking the past couple of weeks.

And Ryan mentioned leading into #2 that Taylor will be guest hosting, next week. Just in time for her to hit #1.

Not introducing #40 before playing it is a bad idea, especially on weeks like this when it's a debut and a lot of listeners might not recognize it. At least the past two weeks the #40 songs were big hits that had been on for a long time.

If "Shake It Off" hits #1 next week, Taylor becomes the second AT40 guest host to announce themselves at #1 (Katy Perry was first.) She just missed doing so two years ago, when she hosted when "We Are Never Getting Back Together" was at #2.

Actually, I misremembered. When Taylor guest hosted in 2012, "We Are Never..." slipped from 2 to 3, as "Some Nights" moved up to #2 and "One More Night" stayed at #1 for a 7th and final week. (The next week "Die Young" broadjumped from 6 to 1).

Happy won't be even in the top 10 of pop, the song crash and burn really fast on pop, nothing to do with its amazing run on the billboard hot 100.

My bet is on Dark Horse

if you go by Mediabase Katy should be #1 . poor Happy Pop radio really did that wrong.

I thought Z100 didn't play optional extras. Last week, one of the requests came from somebody who listened to AT40 on that station. They probably never heard their request.

We heard from Nico, Nick, and Nicki. And back-to-back Smiths: Sam and Echo. :)
I loved all the fresh new music. There were 4 "B" songs in a row in the top 10 (not counting
Rather Be). And probably a record 9 one-word songs in a row on the countdown(27 -19).
Hideaway should have been played after #6. Not counting the optional extra, they played a
5 song segment, followed by a 2 song segment. Plus extras bunched up around #31 again. This isn't rocket science.
The second Animals song this year premieres. (Martin Garrix) Ryan said that Gavin DeGraw's greatest hits CD is coming
out this week. I don't think he has enough hits for that.
Only 3 songs in the lower 20 with more than 20 weeks. How unusual is that!

When my request was aired on AT40 in last November, AT40 staff kindly sent me a sound file of such optional extra segment by email, a few days before the weekend. It was a pleasant surprise and great treasure for me. So, the person may probably have received the file. I agree that he or she should be even more delighted if he/she could listen to that portion also on Z100.
