So it's officiial on both MB & Billboard? Hard to tell for Billboard because audience numbers looked close on Kworb. This is so unbelievable awesome! What an interesting chart path this song took from struggling to break Top 40 and then Valory really went for 'broke' during the past two weeks. Well deserved!

I love this song and happy for the song itself that it's #1 on MB this week but I just can't get overly excited whenever I see a song increase 1003 spins and 7.0 million in audience (over 1900 spins and over 13.0 million in audience the past two weeks). I don't care for "Tonight Looks Good On You" but Jason only lost 2 total net spins and 400k in audience. Broken Bow has clearly been trying to hold steady for two weeks on top and to be completely honest, a part of me wishes that they held on though Monday.
Brantley's been getting congratulated by people as early as a few days ago, including that conversation with Sam Alex on Taste of Country Nights. Most knew this was going to happen (making it to #1 by Sunday's update) and it's just another case of this all being pre-determined. It's not nearly as horrendous as the "Love You Like That" situation but it's just another ridiculous push that radio is A-OK with; just them helping the folks at BMLG getting this to #1 since they like sending everything to #1, or close to it.

Yeah, as much as I had been wanting this to go to #1 because it's the first song of his that I've loved, recently I was less thrilled about it getting there because of the gains it was making. Also, I kind of wanted to see this miss out on the top after seeing "Girl Crush" come up short, too. Eh, whatever. Yay for Brantley and I do love this song.

I completely second and share your feelings about the charts. We already exchanged a couple of thoughts about this subject over the past months. For my part I'll surely advocate some kind of re-haul in order to prevent such massive surges in audience impressions and any upward movement which is not organically grown. The number ones have grown to reach such incredible audience levels to easily put them into the Top 10 of the Mainstream Top 40 chart. This is insane when you consider that in most cases the gains are reversed by equally extreme drops the week after. To get back on topic: I'm ecstatic and excessively satisfied that this song reached the top. I'm probably in the minority here; but country radio needs diversity and should welcome a personality like Brantley with a rockier edge.

I've always loved this song, and think that he's on his game when he's doing stuff like this, or "Modern Day Prodigal Son", or "Saving Amy"

The Billboard tracking week goes through 11:59 pm on Sundays. But the Billboard #1 will become official tomorrow. Brantley is tracking at #1 there, and there's no way that Aldean re-passes him now. Jason put up a heck of a fight, but he couldn't quite hang on for a 2nd week. While I like this song, I would've rather seen Jason stay at #1. I'm rapidly losing interest in chart-watching, given all the insane last-week pushes we've seen lately. Everybody gets their turn at #1, except the biggest hit of the year, of course.

On one hand I'm thrilled, because I adore this song. On the other, it's tough to see this hit the top after "Girl Crush" missed. Oh well.

While I am really happy that this managed to get to number one this has to be one of the more forgetful runs ever. Whatt ultimately gets me is why does this one hit the and songs that'll be remembered for years like Something In The Water and Girl Crush stuff that will be remembered more don't it just baffles me. Not to mention had Sam Hunt and Dierks Bentley not shared labels I bet Take Your Time would've missed out. I was pulling for this cause this song is better than Tonight Looks Good On You. But I mean Girl Crush though.

And I can see this getting recurring AirPlay around Memorial Day and Independence Day for years. As far as girl crush I can see it being a song that gets some recurring play but not hugely. Just my oppinion

Not only that Something In The Water got a Grammy and LBT is basically a lock to win single and song at the CMA Awards. There's no real argument with this one.

Sorry didn't realize The cmas had already cast their ballad. Digital sales mean nothing to me years from now who cares about that I'm sure "you belong with me" sold like hotcakes yet I hear "people are crazy"way more often. This song is twice as old as those so of course it isn't still selling as well. All I'm saying is this feels like it will stand the test of time better and yes that is a matter of oppinion.

The margin of victory was a modest 230 points, and while the song is terrific and thought provoking, I certainly despise the outlandish method used to get it to #1, although I'm sure it will happen again.

I'm really happy about this hitting #1, but I agree with sabre14 in that I'm conflicted on whether I wanted to see Jason at #1 or this at #1 because of the ridiculous push. After "Girl Crush" missing #1 altogether, I wanted this song to get revenge in a sense and unseat Jason from #1, but I don't know if I want it at the expense of seeing another massive push to #1, especially if it goes #1 on Billboard.

Glad to see this go #1 but as far as the next single goes. I have no official confirmation on this yet but I've heard the next single is going to be "Stone Cold Sober". We maybe seeing something confirming this tonight in one of the weekly chart updates. If not tonight possibly next week.

I heard an interview with him on a local radio station here and he said he was almost positive it will be the next single.

I'm also glad to hear Stone Cold Sober will be a single. Anxious to see how that will do... And as for this, it rises up to #44 on the all genre Hot 100 in its 13th week.
