This would be the first decade end '70s chart Billboard produced, right? I seem to only recall American Top 40 doing a decade list before.

Unless the formula's been tweaked, this should be the top for the 1980s. Funny to see many songs that have not endured in terms of recurrent airplay. "Billie Jean" re-entered for a week not long ago- will that push it up the chart?

I'm really enjoying these. Apparently "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Upside Down" made it in instead of "Waiting For a Girl Like You" and "Hurts So Good".

A note: the list I had posted was missing a couple of songs, so that threw things out of whack. Never mind it.

So these lists are exclusive to each of their decades."I Will Always Love You" would be #11 if they added its 2012 points. "Billie Jean" could actually be in higher rank in the All-time charts because of that one extra week in top 20 a few months ago.

I hope this doesn't mean "One Sweet Day" is revoked of its' song of the decade status.

^There's no revoking; it had the best showing based on Billboard's methodology at the time. We knew it wasn't going to be No. 1 on a revised 1990s chart, based on its ranking on the all-time top 100.

Is this the same decade-end chart that was released in Dec. 2009? edit: "I Gotta Feeling" went up 1 spot.
What are your bets on tomorrow's top 20? I think it's safe to say "Party Rock Anthem" will be #1. :x

What about "Ho Hey"? that song spent a lot of time on the Hot 100, over 60 weeks I think.

Can someone explain to me why those 2 Jewel songs are put together? I checked pop radio archives and both songs hit #1 in different periods, so why are they together in the Hot 100?

If I remember properly, they were issued as together on the same physical single, so Billboard counted it as a double-sided hit.

Billboard said: In honor of Billboard magazine's 120th anniversary on Nov. 1, we're revealing the top 20 Billboard Hot 100 hits from each decade since the 1960s (for a total of 120 songs). so I expected a 2010s countdown...

The inverse points-to-position system skews this a bit from what the hard data would show. I'm pretty sure Rolling In The Deep acquired more points that We Found Love and Somebody that I Used To Know.
Likewise, on the 2011 Hot 100 year end, Firework was ranked above ET, even though the former had a part of its chart run missing and the latter didn't.
