Of these its IWALY. I've heard it on the radio literally all over the world, from the jungles of South America to Bulgaria to Portugal.

It's '...Baby One More Time', you delusional, middle-class morons. The elite have always and will continue to regard it as the most influential song of the late 90s, the song that reignited public interest in female acts, and the single most-recognizable song of all time. Do the underprivileged Zimbabwean youth know your fav's debut? Because they know mine. Finally someone who gets it.

Seriously, not a single Michael Jackson or Madonna song? Yet Bryan Adams is listed? LMAO. Out of these "I Will Always Love You."

Finally someone who gets it. You know you've lost it when you use Kunt as your backup. Seriously, why do people post so much hate comments? All I'm saying is that I think that Baby One More Time is one of the biggest songs, along the others that are listed. I do not use Kunt as a backup. Laugh as hard as you want, post as much as you want, I am not a girl.

Hard to say which song (of the rock era). I will certainly say two of those are not: Everything I do... And Candle in the wind. Candle has a record in terms of units sold... But I don't think it's been played in radios, iPods, stores, etc to be one of the most popular songs ever. In the US, it was SATWYLT which had more overall plays than CITW. Everything is a big hit but just doesn't compare to other bigger hits :) IWALY would probably be the winner among the candidates, but also because I add the Dolly Parton version which helps with long-term memory. Other candidates that come to mind: Yesterday My way (so many people have covered this song in so many languages... It may have lost its popularity recently but I still think it's huge) Rock around the clock The twist Imagine
Newer: Dancing queen (the abba revival in early 90s and then the mama Mia movie put it back in the spotlight) Like a Virgin (ask the singing nun! Lol) Thriller I'll be there (especially after mariah covered an already classic)

I'm on mobile, so I can't see... but if someone says "girl" it usually doesn't mean you are actually a girl, much like the term "dude" doesn't mean you're actually a guy.

Well it's not even in the Top 50 either, so I don't know why 3 or 4 threads have been made.
