How long until an article is written commenting on the poor performance of Til It Happens To You?

I like that her voice is very raw these days. It makes it more versatile.

Her dresses are all over the press and getting really positive reaction.. That was a great appearance for her publicity-wise.
And TIHTY is #44 on UK iTunes, which is pretty decent considering how badly G.U.Y. did there

I don't even know where to begin. This is so powerful. Her voice and the melody are beautiful. The video is painful to watch because I know someone it happened to. Applause to Laday Gaga for putting this terrible issue on the front burner for awareness.

Yeah I'll definitely eat my words. I watched the video, in a park no less whole waiting to go to brunch on saturday, and had to hold back the years. It was awful to watch but so important. I'm still not sold on the song itself or Gaga's vocals but in the context of the video, it's such a powerful song and is important.
From a selfish perspective, it's also good for Gaga as well, because while it's her song and her singing, the song goes way beyond her and is actually about something important. I've seen so many people sharing the video on Facebook since last week and have seen articles calling it the most important music video of the year. In some ways, it is.
Since it's from a film as well, could the song get some award recognition this season? From film or music?

#37 now in the UK! Amazing that it didn't just shoot up and drop like a rock.

I love that RedOne is her Jam & Lewis... no matter how (ir)relevant he is, they are still great together and complete each other. She could work with almost anyone but RedOne gets the best out of her.

While I applaud the cause, and the video is powerful, it's not enough to make me like TIHTY as a song, evaluating it on its own merits. She still can't write a great ballad to save her life - they all sound basic, dreary and lifeless.

I agree, she has yet to write a good ballad. It's kind of astounding actually, she has such a good ear for melody and is an accomplished pianist, I'd think she'd be able to whip one up with ease. But they're all awful.

Some of her songs would work very well as ballads though... For example The Edge of Glory, Hair and So Happy I Could Die.

She still can't write a great ballad to save her life - they all sound basic, dreary and lifeless. Speechless? Dope? You and I? Those are all absolutely horrible. Her Elton John tribute act has always been the one big constant failure in her musical output. That's not to say she can't do downtempo moments good. So Happy I Could Die was great and even DWUW was a bit slower for her. A slower electronic number would probably be a good way to further her sound now rather than another cluttered DJ White Shadow production. She just hasn't written much in that vein.

Heard Just Dance today on radio and it gave me really nostalgic feel and also the feel that I need a new album/singles from her.

TIHTY is still #47 on UK iTunes. And with over 10m views WW this might actually be a Hot 100 hit for her depending on how many of these are from the US

I guess there are a lot of songs by her that I think of as ballads, that I guess aren't really. Like "ARTPOP," "TEoG," "Hair," "Eh, Eh," "Paparazzi," etc. "Speechless" and "Y&I" are underrated though, but I'll admit "Dope" is awful.

Dope's lyrics and vocals are awful. Melodically it's actually quite good.

"You and I" is her best ballad.
"Speechless" and "Brown Eyes" are decent once in a while. "Dope" is amongst my least favorite songs from her. I wouldn't really call any of her other songs ballads unless I'm forgetting something.
