Living for Love is making inroads at US dance radio this week: Added at WCPT Chicago First spins at WPTY Long Island First spins at WXJZ Gainesville First spin at KNHC Seattle First spin at WKTU New York Last week I was rather impatient with the decision to hold off on a push to radio until the Grammy performance. But it's been really fun watching the song's airplay develop on its own merit in many parts of the world. I would love for it to start gaining some traction in the States as well.

This might be getting promo and a radio push as early as next week. They remastered the first 6 songs they rush released before Christmas and they are uploaded to Itunes USA so far. You have to delete the the songs and re-download them to get the remastered versions. Not big changes just more polished. Shes gearing up for big Promo and the video already started getting shot yesterday. She will be performing at the Grammy's and the Brit's.

I don't know how that works.

Not big on any of these honestly. I'd love a remix that's even more of a true 90s house throwback.

I would say they did more than just polishing with the new masters, they removed the vast majority of the vocoder from her vocals. She actually sounds like a human on "Illuminati" and "Bitch I'm Madonna" now. She sounds great on the album so far.
You don't have to repurchase. Just delete them from your library, synch your devices so it deletes them off of those, then re-download them (iCloud, on the album page etc) in the store and re-synch your devices.

But I like her vocoded voice on those tracks. No way to have both?

^I guess just wait for the cd to get the new versions and leave the vocoder ones on your iTunes

Ok I'm late on this but I see the Cher comparisons for an anthem. Love this song and I'm just a casual Madonna fan. Hope this goes top ten. So relatable.

The more I listen to this song the more I like it and realize that, if any song is going to prove that she can overcome the age-ism of pop radio, this one is it. Will be interesting to watch and see what happens. It's such a great song, it deserves to chart and chart very well.

The buzz is they're aiming to have the video out a few days before the Grammys, and she's starting promo next week.

This song deserves chart success its just to good and fresh and retro at the same time. Its getting great airplay in the UK and I thought they gave up on her after she moved.

Hopefully there is a radio on the hour deal, and with the Grammy performance and the video, all three of the promo of the song can push it to top 10 hot 100. I would love to see another top 10 before the album drops. Does she hold the record for the most top 10 with 54?

Why not do a radio promo similar to the Super Bowl, only this time leading up to the Grammys performance? Hourly play (except during syndicated shows) starting Friday, Feb. 6 and concluding around 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

>:(No....No... No more Weekend Radio Promo!! It has been learned to do just a 1 day promo. 3 day weekend Premiere ends with spins going temporarily negative and programmers will use that as an excuse to pull the song, quickly.
1 day Radio premiere is the standard now! :)

The three-day was simply to build hype for the Super Bowl- which it did. The above was just a thought, I doubt they will be doing it. :)

I don't see the harm in a three day radio deal. In this case leading up to the grammy performance and video all around the same time with more AirPlay gives it a higher chance for that too 10 hot 100. And the more familiar the song is , her performance will resonate more. This song is a grower and once your hooked it becomes infectious and may have staying power .

"Living for Love" US Radio ReportThere's not much to discuss this week, as there is still no sign that a remastered "Living for Love" has been officially serviced to US radio or that any sort of "hard sell" or push for airplay has begun. But there are encouraging signs where the song is receiving airplay: KBEA in Davenport was the only Top 40 station in the US to add LFL after the "soft sell" back in December. After three weeks of airplay, LFL remains firmly trenched in the middle of the station's playlist, with 25 spins this week. Additionally, the song has just been moved from mostly overnight spins into all dayparts. SiriusXM's Venus, a fairly rhythmic satellite station, also added LFL to their playlist in December. The song seems to be catching on fairly well with listeners, hovering just outside the station's top ten with about 40 spins per week. Chicago's dance station, WCPT, added LFL last week, and the song immediately became their most played, with 19 spins. This station only plays music overnights and on the weekends, hence the low spin total. WXJZ in Gainesville is LFL's only add this week - the dance station gave the song 18 spins last week. A bonus offshoot of the dance add in Gainesville is that local Top 40 station WMFQ has also begun spinning the track, with 12 plays last week. Lastly, Long Island dance station WPTY continues to increase their spins of LFL, up to 9 last week.

The 3 Day Radio Promo is Over!! Nobody does it anymore...period! Because of the aforementioned!
She needs a National TV Ad Campaign Placement for the the track that should quite frankly be airing right NOW!!
The song has potential do quite well but that is a moot point.
US Radio Programmers are the problem!

^And because "nobody does it anymore, that means Interscope/Madonna shouldn't? Come on, now. ;) GMAYL is the only instance where I remember a three-day promo being touted, and, again, that was to build up the hype to the SB. What other big releases had an official three-day promo?
In any event, not sure what the latest Interscope release says Feb. 12 for the radio date- it's a Thursday, and four days after the Grammy performance.

They can keep the radio deals, all it does is create a cringeworthy drop the second week or sooner. If the song is to do well at Top 40 let it happen naturally. She'll have plenty of exposure without major play at Top 40, and the song is being received much better than GMAYL so a HU/COADF situation may happen where the album does well without a smash on Top 40.

Maybe the odd release date has something to do with the 2nd batch of new songs released on the 9th possibly stealing some of the thunder from LFL. Otherwise it makes no sense.

Is there some some sort of radio deal happening because I find it odd the song is getting serviced in its finished mastered format on February 12th which is a Thursday. So I guess its not going for adds on the 10th anymore?

^No, it is going for radio adds on the 10th. The 12th is just an error at Madonna.com.
