Well damn. So apparently I just don't have enough time to do everything I want with this countdown so in order to not finish it by NYE 2016, I'm gonna have to sacrifice some things. As much as I'd love to have album covers and commentary on everything, I just can't take the time right now, so I will do it for the top 10 only. Until then, I will post the rest of the sections more simplistically. I need to finish the Dance YE so I can get to the All-format YE.
Dance Top 100 Numbers 80 - 71 are below
This section features a recent number 1 in XYconstant's "Do It Well" and this won't be the last we hear from him. It also features various songs that peaked within the top 15. Most of these songs performed pretty well but just didn't have enough to go top 10. "Body On Me" is the final entry from Zac Samuel who is credited as remixer. Also here are the first of three entries for Ellie Goulding, the first of two for Jasmine Thompson, Robin Schulz, Kylie Minogue and Disclosure, as well as the only two entries for Sigma.
#80. XYconstant f/Tom Aspaul – “Do It Well” Total Points: 799 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 14** Chart run: 42-37-32-23-12-7-4-3-1-2-

Dance Year-end Top 100 Numbers 70-61:
This section sees lots of songs that peaked in the teens or near the back half of the top 10 but were pretty stubborn in their peak positions so they were able to get some decent points. "Gravity" is the only entry for DJ Fresh as well as the highest for Ella Eyre. Alex Adair makes his first of three appearances. I charted four songs from Avicii this year who was able to place a song in the top 10 for the 2014 ("Addicted To You") and 2013 ("Wake Me Up") year ends. This year, only two of his songs make the top 100 and both appear in this section. Also here are the only entry for ZHU, AlunaGeorge and Hayden James as well as the highest entry for Robin Schulz who took last year's number 1 spot with his remix of "Waves".
#70. DJ Fresh f/Ella Eyre – “Gravity” Total Points: 912 Peak: 13 Weeks on Chart: 16 Chart run: 42-33-32-28-20-16-13-18-18-16-16-17-21-33-37-45
#69. Alex Adair – “Heaven”

#68. TIEKS f/Dan Harkna – “Sunshine” Total Points: 924 Peak: 8 Weeks on Chart: 15** Chart run: 44-38-37-34-30-28-26-14-10-8-8-12-15-21-31-
#67. Avicii – “Waiting For Love” Total Points: 949 Peak: 10 Weeks on Chart: 17 Chart run: 38-35-31-25-19-20-17-14-16-13-10-11-16-27-34-40-45
#66. ZHU x AlunaGeorge – “Automatic”
Total Points: 961 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 13** Chart run: 43-37-28-25-16-11-6-4-3-2-1-2-4-
#65. Hayden James – “Something About You”
Total Points: 967 Peak: 10 Weeks on Chart: 17 Chart run: 41-33-25-22-19-16-19-13-13-12-10-18-25-32-36-38-43
#64. Diplo & Sleepy Tom – “Be Right There” Total Points: 971 Peak: 5 Weeks on Chart: 14** Chart run: 40-35-27-19-13-9-6-5-5-5-6-9-14-23-
#63. Robin Schulz f/Ilsey – “Headlights”
Total Points: 972 Peak: 15 Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 43-34-28-25-19-20-19-16-18-16-15-15-22-29-33-38-39-45

Dance Year-end Top 100 Numbers 60-51:
As we near the top 50 the songs start getting bigger and bigger and we'll start to see more former #1's like Clean Bandit's "Real Love". This is actually one of my favorites from Clean Bandit so I would like to have seen it end the year much higher than #54 but even though it was a multi-week #1 and it charted for 24 weeks, nearly half of those points were during 2014. So it ends near the halfway point of the chart which I will have to settle for. The rest of the songs in this section kind of peaked all over the place from the teens to the top 5 but the key for most of them was that they hovered around their peak position for several weeks in a row which really helps them to rack up points. This section has the only entry for Jack U (though it’s the second and highest entry for both Diplo and Justin Bieber). It also features a song that had a ton of great remixes this year in “Right Now”, my favorite being the Basement Jaxx remix. This section is remix-heavy including the second entries for both Ellie Goulding and Alex Adair (via Ed Sheeran) as well a remix for Tinashe. Due to his remix credit, this is also the second of three entries for Oliver Heldens.
#60. Jack U f/Justin Bieber – “Where Are U Now”
Total Points: 1019 Peak: 8 Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 41-34-32-24-18-17-15-9-8-10-8-10-14-20-30-35-39-45
#59. Mary J. Blige – “Right Now” (Basement Jaxx Remix)
Total Points: 1021 Peak: 18 Weeks on Chart: 19 Chart run: 45-43-38-31-30-28-21-20-19-18-19-27-27-28-21-22-24-28-38
#58. Nero – “Two Minds”
Total Points: 1035 Peak: 7 Weeks on Chart: 18** Chart run: 41-35-30-29-22-17-14-8-8-8-7-9-17-23-23-31-39-45-
#57. Ellie Goulding – “Love Me Like You Do” (Scales Remix)

#56. Lea Rue – “I Can’t Say No” (Broiler Remix) Total Points: 1046 Peak: 11 Weeks on Chart: 19** Chart run: 44-36-29-28-28-25-22-21-16-14-14-12-11-16-20-27-32-38-40
#55. Ed Sheeran – “Thinking Out Loud” (Alex Adair Remix) Total Points: 1049 Peak: 4 Weeks on Chart: 21 Chart run: 42*-35*-31*-28*-23*-22-21-18-10-10-9-6-5-4-5-9-12-18-28-38-41
#54. Clean Bandit f/Jess Glynne – “Real Love” Total Points: 1050 Peak: 1 (3)* Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 45*-38*-37*-31*-24*-17*-11*-9*-3*-2*-1*-1-2-1-3-2-5-9-16-19-26-34-40-43

Dance Year-end Top 100 Numbers 50-41:
Welcome to the top 50 dance songs of 2015. We’re quickly approaching the heavy-hitters and most of these songs I really, really loved. A majority of the songs in this section peaked at or around the top 5 and also hovered around their peaks for a while gathering up points. There is another former #1 here with Gorgon City’s “Go All Night” – the only entry in the top 100 for both Gorgon City and Jennifer Hudson (each act did chart with one other song this year but they didn’t come near the top 100). I’m not surprised this song places where it does because it had a relatively short chart run for a #1 song – burn rate, I think. This section features the first of three to come for Blonde. “I Loved You” should have hit #1 and I’m crazy for not having it do so. It would have ended the year better were it not for that. Here too is the first of two entries for Philip George which was a stubborn little song that I could never quite get away from but couldn’t move it up too much either – it is still charting, though its descending. The highest entry for Kylie Minogue is here as well as for Zedd – this is the second year in a row where Zedd does not have a song in the top 10. “Find You” finished at #13 in 2014 while “Clarity” and “Spectrum” were #1 for 2013 and 2012, respectively. Also, the highest entries for Tchami and Axwell & Ingrosso are here.
#50. Gorgon City f/Jennifer Hudson – “Go All Night” Total Points: 1075 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 40*-32*-28*-23-17-15-9-6-3-1-2-5-10-17-22-36-36-44
#49. Philip George & Anton Powers – “Alone No More” Total Points: 1093 Peak: 11 Weeks on Chart: 18** Chart run: 43-37-32-27-23-21-18-22-24-19-19-16-13-14-13-11-17-30-
#48. Blonde f/Melissa Steel – “I Loved You”
Total Points: 1096 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 40*-38*-32*-25*-25*-17-14-10-7-4-2-2-4-7-9-11-17-23-29-32-43-44
#47. Giorgio Moroder f/Kylie Minogue – “Right Here, Right Now” Total Points: 1106 Peak: 6 Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 45-36-31-26-17-15-12-9-6-7-8-6-9-15-19-28-36-39
#46. Zedd f/Jon Bellion – “Beautiful Now” Total Points: 1113 Peak: 6 Weeks on Chart: 17 Chart run: 36-28-24-23-19-11-12-11-11-9-6-7-10-14-25-35-42
#45. Tchami – “Promesses”
Total Points: 1114 Peak: 5 Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 44-37-28-22-13-9-6-6-5-6-6-9-10-13-20-30-40-44
#44. Listenbee f/Naz Tokio – “Save Me” Total Points: 1115 Peak: 5 Weeks on Chart: 18 Chart run: 43-37-29-23-22-20-13-12-7-6-5-7-8-13-24-32-38-44
#43. Foxes – “Body Talk” (TCTS Remix) Total Points: 1119 Peak: 11 Weeks on Chart: 19 Chart run: 43-36-28-24-18-18-17-15-14-12-11-11-11-15-22-30-33-41-45

Too many to comment on, but Something New was one of my favorites of the year. :)

So much great stuff, but I'm especially loving the love for "Go All Night"! That did well for me too. It never gets old. :)

Dance Year-end Top 100 Numbers 40-31:
Inside the top 40 now and I only love these songs more and more. Most songs in this section peaked high in the top 5 and enjoyed nice longevity. A few others though they didn't peak quite as high in the top 10, they enjoyed nice longevity. This section features two songs from Lost Frequencies whose sound I really enjoyed. Here also is the first of three big songs from Years & Years. I wish "Desire" would have landed higher. I really should have sent it to #1 but its beyond me how I managed to keep it from getting there. Here too is the only entry this year for Armin Van Buuren who misses the top 10 once again. Armin managed top 10 finishes in 2011 with Avicii's remix of "Drowning" and in 2013 with "This Is What It Feels Like". Karen Harding has two of her three entries in this section - two vocal features with her own single still to come. One of those features is the second of three entries for Blonde. Clean Bandit and Disclosure's highest showings are here as well as the first of two for Martin Solveig.
#40. Lost Frequencies – “Reality”
Total Points: 1159 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 19 Chart run: 42-35-26-25-21-16-15-10-8-7-2-4-7-11-13-23-31-39-43

What do the asterisks mean? Oh sorry I probably should have carried the notes over to each post. See below.
Note 1: In the 'chart run' breakdown (*) symbolizes charting for 2014. Those points are not accounted for but a song's entire chart run is included anyhow for completeness
Note 2: In the 'weeks on chart' (**) symbolizes that the song is still charting. This is also denoted in the 'chart run' as the last chart position is followed by a (-).

Dance Year-end Top 100 Numbers 29-21:
#30. Years & Years – “Shine” (Steve Pitron & Max Sanna Remix) Years & Years is back with their second highest entry on the chart. Even though I really enjoy the original version of "Shine", I actually like this remix much better. This version definitely performed better than the original version did on the all-format chart as this ended up peaking at #2. Total Points: 1273 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 20 Chart run: 40-32-24-22-19-11-10-6-4-3-3-3-2-7-10-14-22-31-40-42
#29. Pep & Rash – “Rumors”
What a cool sound! I was so happy to be introduced to Pep & Rash and their style of house this year and none of their other releases has managed to surpass the level of enjoyment that I have for this song. The beat just goes so hard and its perfect to dance to. I really should have taken this song into the top 5 but alas a #7 peak had to do. Total Points: 1292 Peak: 7 Weeks on Chart: 21 Chart run: 38-34-27-23-24-21-21-20-14-16-13-9-7-7-8-9-16-24-33-38-43
#28. Philip George – “Wish You Were Mine”
Probably one of the coolest songs I heard this year. This was a super duper crowded time for me on my dance chart or else this song would have lasted longer at #1 and probably would have put it into the top 10 year-end. But I'm ok with this position. This is the highest peaking song for Philip George. Total Points: 1299 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 20 Chart run: 41*-34*-30-23-21-16-12-6-3-1-2-3-7-7-9-11-18-29-36-41
#27. Redondo & Boiler f/She Keeps Bees – “Every Single Piece” Definitely loved this song when I was charting it but it didn't quite age well with me. In fact, I think I gave it a rather quick exit once it started falling and it didn't even make it to 20 weeks on chart for having been a #1. I think I mostly enjoyed the vocals but somehow got tired of it. Still, not surprised it ends up in this spot as it did hover near the top for a while. Total Points: 1308 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 19 Chart run: 40-36-32-28-20-18-13-9-6-4-1-2-3-5-9-16-28-31-42
#26. Klingande f/Broken Back – “Riva (Restart The Game)” The only entry on the chart for Klingande this year, whom I think does Tropical House really, really well. I still jam to this because its that addicting. You just can't beat that sax. Admittedly, I thought it was a harmonica but later learned it was actually a modified sax sound playing the riffs. Again, a really crowded time on my chart otherwise this would definitely have gone to #1. It also enjoyed some pretty good longevity so that helps it land within the top 30. Total Points: 1313 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 21 Chart run: 44-35-30-27-25-19-18-14-13-9-6-2-3-2-6-8-19-25-31-36-40
#25. Sam Feldt – “Show Me Love”
What a great year for Tropical House and Sam Feldt was playing with the best of them. I think this is still my favorite song of his. At first, you think, well how many times can this song be re-made - but Sam's was just so different with the vocals and not using Robin S. It just worked. Another case where I definitely feel I shortchanged this on its peak - it should have hit the top 5 in retrospect. This is the highest entry for the year for Sam Feldt. Total Points: 1325 Peak: 7 Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 41-35-30-30-29-22-19-17-19-15-13-11-11-11-8-7-12-12-19-28-36-42
#24. XYconstant – “Silverlined”
So many cool, young DJs coming out from across the pond and Alfie Coleman aka Xyconstant was no exception. He had some great releases this year and "Silverlined" was my intro to him. Just another great example of a modern twist on the classic 90's house vibes. There was no way I could pass up this song going to #1 and it did spend one week there. This is the highest entry for XYconstant. Total Points: 1334 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 20 Chart run: 40-32-29-23-20-17-12-8-3-1-2-4-9-12-16-19-24-32-39-43
#23. KDA f/Tinie Tempah & Katy B – “Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)”
When this song exploded onto my playlist I was in love from the first second I heard it. I love everything about this song. The early 90's beat and singer/rapper team-up was genius and well-done. "Rumble" was cool but when this vocal version came out, it took the song into a whole other league for me. Katy B's crazy singing and runs just are too perfect. This is part of a very elite club of songs that spent 4 weeks at #1 as there are only two others that did it. And one of only two of those to make it 4 consecutive weeks. This song is currently charting and is starting to fall but even though it started its chart run so late into the year, the fact that it spent 4 weeks at #1 catapulted it into this year-end position. Total Points: 1338 Peak: 1 (4) Weeks on Chart: 14** Chart run: 44-38-32-23-12-7-3-1-1-1-1-2-7-10-
#22. LANY – “ILYSB” (Ferdinand Weber Remix)
So, the title is cool. But also, what a rework! I thought the original was ok but Ferdinand just went right ahead and made it his own. It sounds like an original which is the best possible compliment that can be given to a remix. The vocals are awesome and they go so, so well with the beat Ferdinand added. Honestly, there were just too many instances where I just couldn't get a song onto #1 and this would have been one of them. "ILYSB" also has the honor of being the highest peaking remix of a pop song on this year end countdown. Total Points: 1345 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 21** Chart run: 41-34-30-26-21-15-13-12-8-4-3-2-2-4-5-8-10-17-20-30-34-41
#21. Calvin Harris f/Ellie Goulding – “Outside” Finally my lover king shows up! Its no secret that Calvin has long been one of my favorite artists and I am always going to be a huge supporter. While 'Motion' was not fully the album I would have wanted it to be, there are some gems on there and this is one of them. Calvin and Ellie make beautiful music together. "Outside" spent 3 weeks at #1 at the beginning of the year and had a pretty slow descent so its no surprise that it managed to end the year so well. This is the first of three entries for Calvin. As we're approaching the top 10, it will be interesting to see if he can continue to place a song within the top 10. He has done so every year since 2009 with the exception of 2011 when "Bounce" landed at #22 year-end. Total Points: 1355 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 41*-35*-29*-25*-15*-12*-6*-3-1-2-2-1-1-4-7-11-16-19-23-31-33-40-45

You're doing this too fast that I need time to make a proper comment about your EOY chart honestly. Hope it will be in the following days.
Anyway, you know which tracks I like, which tends to be most of them, so I could only tell you that your list is amazing so far. I'm looking forward to the Top 20 and I can't wait to see where "Pray to God" and "How Deep Is Your Love" land.

I like how you break away from the more popular Pop hits and really showcase your best of 2015.

I want to get to my all-format year-end one soon too though.
You'll be happy with PTG and HDIYL I think.
I like how you break away from the more popular Pop hits and really showcase your best of 2015. Thanks! Some of those will definitely be around on my next year-end chart with all-formats but the dance one is pretty specific.

Dance Top 100 Numbers 20-16 are below:
Finally inside the Top 20 Dance songs of 2015 and these really are some of my favorites of the year. I am pretty happy with the way the rankings turned out in comparison to how look back at these songs now.

Fono “Real Joy” | Total Points: 1364 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 42-39-31-32-28-6-23-22-29- 21-15-10-6-7-2- 4-8-17-23-29- 39-42
| With “Real Joy” I have to give all the credit to Juan Carlos for introducing me to it. I just thought it was such a cool vibe and great mix of sounds that are pretty chill but also get you moving with a bit of vocals interwoven – its just so well-done. I’ve since been enjoying other stuff from Fono. This song had an long journey on my chart and it took a while to pick up, taking one step forward and one step back for weeks and weeks but then it really kicked in. Martin Solveig’s “+1” truly blocked this from #1. Had any other song been #1 at that time this would have dethroned it. But it did well nonetheless and had a slow fall off the chart so that helps it end the year at #20. | | #19. Jess Glynne “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”
| Total Points: 1375 Peak: 5 Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 44-35-27-23-21-7-14-9-8-6- 5-5-5-6-7-10- 18-26-30-31-37- 41-42
| This is the second of three entries for Jess Glynne who had another monster vocal year for me. In 2014 she had three songs on the year-end top 100 with two of her features and her debut single and this year she also has three songs on the year-end but with two of her singles and one feature. I love the lyrics on this one and it seems as if it could come off preachy but its just really uplifting and positive with a fun, housey beat. Though this only peaked at #5, it spent 9 of its 23 weeks in the top 10 and took a while to fall off which brings it to its ending position of #19. | | #18.
Oliver Heldens & Shaun Frank “Shades Of Grey” | Total Points: 1390 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 20 Chart run: 37-31-21-21-18-15-10-7-4- 1-2-3-6-7-9-12- 23-31-32-40
| The highest entry on this year’s Top 100 for Oliver Heldens is at #18 nearly matching his performance last year where “Gecko (Overdrive)” came in at #17. This was a great year overall for Oliver though with the addition of his HI-LO alias and his collaborations have been great fun. This one just got kind of down and dirty for me on the beat. Its so ‘feel good’ when your dancing. It had a pretty clear cut run on the chart darting for that #1 and then slowly falling off to help it land at #18. | | #17.
Blonde f/Alex Newell “All Cried Out” | Total Points: 1424 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 42-34-28-24-19-13-7-2-1-4-5-7-10-12-22-26-28-32-34-37-42
| Blonde had an awesome year for me. All three of their singles for the year ended within the Top 50 with “All Cried Out” being the highest entry, which makes sense being that this was a 1-week #1. The beat drop on this is what gets me. It’s a floor-filler but also something you can just sing your heart out to thanks to those vocals – especially at the bridge “I feel so sorry for you BABY!” This song too had a really solid run leading it to end the year at #17. | | #16.
Watermat, Becky Hill & TAI “All My Love” | Total Points: 1455 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 19** Chart run: 41-33-25-24-17-15-10-7-3- 1-1-2-2-3-4-8- 14-24-34-
| After “Bullit”, Watermat’s “Frequency” wasn’t quite up to par for me but the addition of the vocals to create “All My Love” really turned that around for me. Sometimes when instrumentals get vocal versions, it just doesn’t sound right but this for me was a case where the vocals made the song better. And Becky Hill is so good. This managed 2 weeks at #1 and it is still charting though it is on its way out but the 2 weeks on top and 10 weeks in the top 10 catapult it to #16. | |

Dance Top 100 Numbers 15-11 are below:
Its pretty much all #1 songs from here on out with the exception of “Firestone”, which should have been #1 but more on that below.

MNEK “The Rhythm” | Total Points: 1460 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 20 Chart run: 40-32-24-17- 10-6-4-3-1-1-2- 2-7-12-15-26- 30-36-43-45
| So, this guy had been responsible for writing or producing a bunch of songs that I really love like “Need U (100%)”, “Wings”, “Indiana” and “Gecko (Overdrive)” to name a few, but he’d yet have a hit in his own right. “The Rhythm” changed that real quick. Super cool sound. A bit tribal a, bit garagey but all groovy. This easily founds it way to the top of the chart spending two weeks at #1 and despite only charting for 20 weeks, 9 of those weeks were spent within the top 10 which counts for a great deal. #15 is a great year-end spot for this.
| | #14.
Felix Jaehn f/Jasmine Thompson “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)” | Total Points: 1483 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 40-32-28-21- 16-16-12-6-5-3-2-1-2-5- 7-13-16-23-29-30-36-39
| And here is the second of three appearances by Felix Jaehn who had a great year with his Tropical House sound. At first, I was like ‘huh…interesting song to remake’ and I thought I didn’t like the vocal but actually I ended up really enjoying the chill sound of the vocal which meshed well with the chill sound of the track. I really like Jasmine Thompson’s vocals on last year’s “Sun Goes Down” and this was a nice follow up to that feature. She’s good on these types of tracks.
| | #13.
Kygo f/Conrad “Firestone” | Total Points: 1513 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 40*-36-27-20- 18-16-13-12-12-8- 4-4-2-3-5-5-7-9- 10-14-19-30-35-41
| Probably one of my biggest regrets on my chart this year is that I neglected to let “Firestone” hit #1. It should have. And I don’t know what kind of drugs I was on to not allow it to do so. The only excuse I have is that King Calvin blocked him so that’s fair in my mind. Anyway, this continues to be my favorite Kygo song because everything works in unison. Some of his other stuff just tends to sound like a lesser replica of this, though I still enjoy it, nothing has been better. So, this wasn’t a #1 but still, its run was 24 weeks, which is tied (with 5 other songs) for most weeks on chart and 10 of those weeks were spent inside the top 10 which makes it possible for “Firestone” to be the #13 dance song of 2015. It also has the honor of being the highest ranking song on the EOY chart that did not hit #1.
| | #12.
Duke Dumont “Ocean Drive” | Total Points: 1537 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 21** Chart run: 39-31-21-15- 14-10-8-7-7-4-4-3- 2-1-4-6-9-14- 18-26-33-
| Well this song is still going strong. I love that Duke has such a nice variety in his sound. No two songs, well, singles anyway, really sound the same. And yet they are all so good. This one gives some 80’s synthy/funky goodness that stands out in a really good way. I don’t know who the vocalist is but he kills it. Someone, I think on this board, said there was a similarity to The Weeknd, which I agree with. This song spent one week at #1 and, though it’s still charting, is on its way out but it’s done enough damage in its 21 weeks to earn the #12 spot for the year.
| | #11.
Karen Harding “Say Something” | Total Points: 1600 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 42-38-37-31- 23-16-11-8-3-2-1-3-1- 3-4-8-14-17-25- 30-36-36-45
| The UK just never ceases to impress and this year Karen Harding came out in a big way for me. She was another staple vocalist on my chart this year and “Say Something”, her debut single, is her highest ranking of three appearances on the EOY chart. This is deep house at its very best for me. Of course, the fabulous MNEK is behind this one so the production is on point but the vocals are all Karen’s and she slays it. Two weeks at #1, with 9 weeks in the top 10 and 23 total weeks on chart gets Karen just outside the top 10 at a very respectable #11.

Dance Top 100 Numbers 10-6 are below:
As we kick off the top 10 dance songs of 2015, just a few other notes on the dance chart. A total of 178 songs charted and 28 songs hit #1 – oddly enough, the same amount of #1’s as 2014. There was a 6-way tie for Most Weeks on Chart between "King" by Years & Years, “+1” by Martin Solveig, "Easy Love" by Sigala, "Cheerleader" by Omi, "Firestone" by Kygo and "Real Love" by Clean Bandit. All 6 songs charted for 24 weeks. There were various artists who had two number one songs such as Sigala, Jess Glynne (one as featured vocalist) and Felix Jaehn (one as remixer) but only one artist had 3 number one songs and that was Calvin Harris with "Outside", "Pray To God" & "How Deep Is Your Love" (with Disciples). Calvin takes this title for the second year in a row (2014 – “Under Control”, “Summer” & “Blame”).

iLL BLU f/James Morrison “Lonely People” | Total Points: 1619 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 44-38-31-26-22- 17-14-13-8-6-5-4-1-1-4-7- 8-13-18-27-35-42
| Well this song came out of nowhere for me. These guys had been gone for a while but they came back in a big way for me. I absolutely love the production on this – its so funky and dancey and uplifting despite the lyrical content. And James Morrison really delivers a full vocal performance. This enjoyed a pretty easy coast up to the top spending two weeks at #1, 9 weeks in the top 10 and 22 good weeks on the chart as a whole bringing it up to the #10 spot of the year.
| | #9.
Calvin Harris f/Haim “Pray To God” | Total Points: 1621 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 41-32-24-15-13- 10-7-3-1-2-1-2-2-2-5-10- 14-20-30-34-41-43
| King Calvin is back with his second of three entries and this was by far one of my most favorite songs of last year. In fact, this absolutely was of my most favorite songs of Calvin’s across all his albums. This song jumped on the chart while “Outside” was still in the midst of a three week run at #1 and “Blame” was still falling and it worked its own way right up to the top spot. The production on this is just perfect. And just at the right time when I was starting to miss the Calvin of days gone by he goes on and releases something that sounds so different from what he’d been putting out. Haim are on point of course. This went on to spend 2 weeks at #1 plus 11 big weeks in the top 10 and 22 weeks on the chart overall, giving this a #9 finish for the year. Fun fact: this marks 4 years in a row that Calvin has a song in the EOY top 10. Had it not been for 2011, it would have been 7 years in a row.
| | #8.
Alex Adair “Make Me Feel Better” | Total Points: 1652 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 40-37-34-23-21- 14-8-3-1-1-2-5-5-4-3-6-7-12- 17-26-34-43-44
| So this is absolutely one my favorite Tropical House songs period. Its perfect. I’m not sure that a more uplifting track existed this year. Its so fun and free and the Marvin Gaye sample works so well. I would have wanted this to spend like 5 or 6 weeks at #1 but this was probably the most competitive time at the top for my chart so…no. But it did manage 2 weeks at #1 along with 11 weeks in the top 10 and a total of 23 weeks on the chart so a #8 finish for this song is just right.
| | #7.
Calvin Harris & Disciples “How Deep Is Your Love” | Total Points: 1655 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 22** Chart run: 34-24-19-12-6- 2-1-2-1-2-2-5-5-5-10-14-20- 19-24-28-37-37
| I was beyond excited when I heard Calvin was teaming up with Disciples on this one because, again, I was ready to hear something a little different from him. So for this to be the follow up to “Pray To God” was just amazing hearing Calvin getting into the deep house game. The sound is very Disciples but that’s ok – the vocalist is great as well. This was such a good year for deep house so to see Calvin work it in was fun. This also enjoyed 2 weeks at #1 with 11 weeks in the top 10 and 22 weeks on chart and still charting. This is only the second time that Calvin places two songs in the EOY top 10. He did it in 2013 with “Thinking About You” (#6) and “I Need Your Love” (#4). This is his third and final entry for the year.
| | #6.
Jess Glynne “Hold My Hand” | Total Points: 1693 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 39-33-28-21-15- 13-13-11-11-4-3-1-1-2-4-5- 7-11-17-27-31-38-45
| And here is one of my top vocalists for the year. Jess managed three songs on this chart plus another on my all-format chart so she had a really good year. This continues to be one of my favorites by her and one of my favorites of the year because its so positive and fun but Jess’ vocals are so well-delivered too. For some reason this song struggled to break into the top 10 but once it finally did it headed right for that #1 spot which it held for two weeks, with 8 weeks in the top 10 and 23 total weeks on chart, a #6 finish doesn’t surprise me at all.

Dance Top 100 Numbers 5- 1 are below:
Its been a really fun year for Dance music, in my opinion. I definitely leaned more deep house this year but there was so much good stuff coming from that genre. And Tropical House really had a great year too. Some of the staples like Calvin and Tiesto took a shot at some different sounds and that was fun to see as well. I noticed I wasn’t quite as big on Pop remixes this year and I think that has something to do with the fact that there were just more great pure dance songs taking the spotlight that I didn’t even have to seek out remixes as much. I think my top 5 Dance songs pretty well encapsulate the year in Dance for me. It was a fun year that allowed me to discover lots of new artists that I’m looking forward to hearing more of. Cheers to 2015 and welcome 2016!
My very first EOY all-format Top 100 will be kicking off later today or tonight. I am pretty excited to see how well the dance songs did in comparison to everything else. Spoiler alert: a different #1 is guaranteed.

Omi “Cheerleader” (Felix Jaehn Remix) | Total Points: 1695 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 38-28-20-15-15- 14-13-14-12-7-6-3-1-2-2- 4-6-7-11-17-22-33-35-43
| I think it’s fair to say that this song was inescapable for the most part. It was nothing but positive, happy vibes from the minute the trumpet kicks in right through the piano touches and Omi’s flowing through the lyrics. It works very well. And way to really introduce the tropical house sound to the masses. Felix has had a great year and this is his highest appearance on the countdown as well as Omi’s only entry. “Cheerleader” spent 1 week at #1 and it had a bit of a hard time breaking into the top 10 but it got pretty steady from there. It went on to spend 22 weeks on the chart and ends the year as the #5 dance song of 2015.
| | #4.
Sigala “Easy Love” | Total Points: 1796 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 24** Chart run: 39-32-22-17-14- 14-12-11-9-3-3-1-1-1-4-6- 9-19-26-28-31-37-40-43-
| Well, this is perfect. It’s just perfect. Before this came along, Alex Adair’s “Make Me Feel Better” was the epitome of Trop house for me but this came through and snatched that title. Uplifting much? That sample of “ABC” is just euphoric in my mind with the instrumentation. I can’t help but smile and then get up and dance each and every time this comes on. “Easy Love” is the highest of two entries for Sigala and it spent three big, consecutive weeks at #1 with 7 weeks in the top 5. It took a bit to pick up steam but then kicked into high gear and is currently in its 24th week on the chart and is the #4 song on the EOY.
| | #3.
Tiesto & KSHMR f/Vassy “Secrets” | Total Points: 1796 Peak: 1 (4) Weeks on Chart: 22 Chart run: 40-35-27-21-17- 10-4-1-1-1-3-3-1-4-8- 12-15-19-27-34-38-42
| Here we go with the top 3 and king in his own right Tiesto who teamed up with KSHMR takes this one easily as “Secrets” was simply one of my favorites this year. It was so, so catchy and I could never get the vocals and drop out of my head. You can totally hear the KSHMR influence in this giving Tiesto a bit of a different sound which is refreshing. Of his current stuff that has sounded different, this is my favorite. It just sounds…current. This is the only entry on the Top 100 for Tiesto as well as for KSHMR. This is the second year in a row that Tiesto lands at #3 for the year – “Red Lights” was #3 in 2014. “Secrets” was one of only three songs to spend 4 weeks at #1. It also logs 8 weeks in the top 5 and a total of 22 weeks so a #3 finish is just what I expected. Though it has the same amount of points as “Easy Love”, this ranks #3 because it had an additional week at #1.
| | #2.
Martin Solveig f/Sam White “+1” | Total Points: 1895 Peak: 1 (4) Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 40-30-23-13-9- 3-1-1-1-1-3-5-6-8-8-9-19- 29-36-36-35-36-38-43
| I don’t think I’m exaggerating by calling this song my favorite song of 2015 even if it is at #2 – the difference in points between this and #1 is pretty minimal. There is no flaw with this song. None. And it was a perfect follow-up to “Intoxicated” which I think was a fun direction for Martin to go in. The beat just knocks, plain and simple, and Sam White is a vocal powerhouse. This is by far my favorite thing that Martin has ever produced. This is a great year-end for Martin as the last time he placed a song in the top 10 was 2011’s “Hello” at #8. “+1” ruled August as the #1 song for all 4 weeks and showed no sign of letting up until a few weeks ago as it spent 12 huge weeks in the top 10 and 24 total weeks on chart. I had no doubt this song would land somewhere in the top 3.
| | #1.
Years & Years “King” | Total Points: 1903 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 39-31-20-16-11- 6-4-4-2-1-1-3-1-3-2-3-6- 8-15-21-31-33-37-41
| And we’ve come to the summit where truly there is no surprise for me. The third and final entry for Years & Years is the aptly-named “King” which is the #1 dance song of 2015. Yet another song where I just can’t sing enough praises because I find no flaw in it whatsoever. Y&Y had a fantastic year overall and I was so glad to get more into their stuff and then to see them perform this song live twice in one year was incredible because Olly pretty much kills it live. The pure emotion he puts into it is what gets me. “King” spent three weeks at #1 and a huge 10 weeks in the top 5, 13 weeks in the top 10 and a total of 24 weeks on chart. It’s no wonder this ends up as the #1 dance song of 2015 because it pretty much beat everyone at everything.
