I agree. I don't mind "Because Of You" making the album, but I'd be pretty disappointed if it was the lead single.

If it is BOY, I'm going to be a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I really want to hear what they did with the song, I just don't want it as a single. I actually don't want the duet with Kelly to be the first single at all, but I guess there's reasons for it if it is. I was looking forward to hearing the Ronnie Dunn song.
All that said, I'm really looking forward to their performance on the ACM's.

Well, from what I hear, Because Of You will, indeed, be the first single with a May 21st release date.

Kelly just confirmed in a radio interview with KISS 103.7 that BOY will be Reba's first single. The interview is up at the KCE if you want to listen to it.

^ haha! Since Reba has been Kelly's idol since childhood, I bet Kelly is honored that Reba wanted to record on of Kelly's songs.

Agreed. As I said before, I'm fine with the lead single being a Kelly duet and with BOY making the album, but this is REALLY disapponiting that they're going with BOY as the lead single. I'd much rather have two Kelly tracks on the album, with an original being the lead single.

Can't blame them. The song was a smash on the pop charts. Hopefully both Kelly cuts make the album. I know that BOY was recorded on a last minutes notice, because the CMT Crossroads performance went soo well.

I have my concerns too. BOYs been played so much on radio already, that I'm a little worried about how it'll do on Country radio. Plus I really wanted a whole new Kelly/Reba song. :)

Not sure if any of these songs will make the Duets cd...
05/03/2007 10:36 AM, ET BEYONCE KNOWLES' sister SOLANGE is to take over as the pop superstar's manager once their father Mathew Knowles steps aside in five years time. Solange, who has enjoyed pop success of her own, has revealed she's the heiress to the music mogul's MusicWorld empire, which also includes a record label. The pretty 20-year-old explains, "In five years I'll be answering those calls. I'll be the president and CEO." In the meantime, talented Solange, who has also acted in a string of movies, is busy pitching songs she has written to stars like Reba McEntire and Celine Dion.

I thought this quote about Reba from Kelly was really cute, it's from the really awesome interview done by L.A. Times: Source

From the KCE: The poster who posted it is a very reliable source. From Country aircheck music edition (May 7th) that was just released.. I can only see this ad fitting Reba and Kelly Clarkson. Looks like "Because Of You" will be the first single.

By sheer good timing alone, this has a very good chance of rushing up the charts. It seems to be a wide open field right now with Rascal Flatts, Kenny and Carrie on their "radio breaks"; Brad and Toby already in the top 10; and Tim and Keith already on their way there. Make hay, make hay!
ETA: Oops, I forgot to comment on the song itself. BoY is one of the songs that immediately struck me from Kelly's Breakaway because I could relate from personal experience. I love, love, love this song. Killer line for me: "my heart can't possibly break when it wasn't even whole to start with." As for the duet, the snippet I saw from the CMT Crossroads special was amazing... but, like others, I didn't expect it to be the lead single. I can understand going with the Kelly duet, but I would have thought "A Lot Like You" and not BoY.

Thanks for that ad!!! May 16 to radio! I can't wait!
From the description of "A lot like you" I can't see it being a single. I remember thinking right after the Crossroads taping that that type of banter doesn't fit the style of Reba's singles. "Because of you" fits Reba perfectly.

I'm a little bummed by this news, but something is better than nothing, right? BillboardMcEntire Surrounded By Stars On 'Reba Duets' Reba McEntire May 10, 2007, 11:55 AM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. Country veteran Reba McEntire is surrounded by high-profile collaborators on her new album, "Reba Duets." Due Sept. 18 via MCA Nashville, the 11-track set features appearances by Justin Timberlake, Don Henley, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Carole King and Faith Hill. Clarkson guests on first single "Because of You," which will be delivered May 15 to U.S. radio outlets, the same day the pair will perform it on the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas."Duets" also includes contributions from Brooks & Dunn's Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes and McEntire's former MCA Nashville labelmate Trisha Yearwood, who has just signed with Big Machine Records. McEntire hasn't released a new studio album since 2003's "Room To Breathe." A collection of "#1's" arrived in 2005. The artist will return to the road May 25 in Tunica, Miss., and has U.S. shows on tap through the end of August.

A little more info about the Reba/Ronnie duet. Sounds like a great song.... This was one of the few songs I holding out and HOPEING would be good. I dont care much for her partners on this project and was a little leary of this, recounting the last time Reba And Ronnie Got together (cringes @ that trainwreck). But this sounds pretty good....

What was their last duet? Wasn't it 'If You See Him/Her'?
