Release Date: SEP 18, 2007 Track Listing: Listen to FULL Stream of CD - Reba McEntire - "Reba Duets" (Coutesy of ThatsCountry Website) www.thatscountry.com/media-player/artist-4/index.htmlTracklist: 1. "When You Love Someone Like That" w/ LeAnn Rimes; Written by Rochelle/Hill 2. "Does The Wind Still Blow In Oklahoma" w/ Ronnie Dunn; Written by Dunn/McEntire 3. "Because Of You" w/ Kelly Clarkson; Written by Clarkson/Moody/Hodges - Billboard #2 Hit; CMA Vocal Event Nominee Reba: “‘Because of You' is a killer country song, in my opinion. You know, country music is all about heartbreak and sad, deep, heart wrenching tell-it-all … it's therapeutic for me. The emotion you hear in that song is very heartfelt, very honest, it's not fake.” 4. "Faith In Love" w/ Rascal Flatts; Written by Demarcus/Rooney/LeVox 5. "She Can't Save Him" w/ Trisha Yearwood; Written by Hengber/Regan Trisha: "It was so cool to go into the studio with her, because she's so professional and she gets her part like first take and I pretty much get my part first take. We went in there, we picked the key ... and we sang. And it was like, 'Okay, y'all got it? We're done.'" 6. "Everyday People" w/ Carole King; Written by Harden/Harden/Rollins 7. "Every Other Weekend" w/ Kenny Chesney; Written by Harrington/Ewing 8. "These Broken Hearts" w/ Vince Gill; Written by Gill/Wasner 9. "Sleeping With The Telephone" w/ Faith Hill; Written by Harden/Harden/Rollins 10. "The Only Promise That Remains" w/ Justin Timberlake; Written by Timberlake/Morris Justin: “I’ve always loved Reba. She is the voice of a generation. She is an icon.” 11. "Break Each Other's Heart Again" w/ Don Henley; Written by Randall/Wiggins Reba: "He was at the top of my wish list, and so I called him and asked him if he would, and he said, 'Yes." He sang it a couple of times, got right into his 'Don Henley' mode, and man, we were all sitting around with our jaws just dropped. He's just wonderful, a stylist, a wonderful singer, and great guy. It's history in the making right there, watching Don Henley sing. Not many people get to do that, watch him in the studio, so it was a dream come true."

Also of note, as most of you probably know.... Reba also recorded a duet with Dionne Warwick for Dionne's new album "My Friends & Me". They perform a new version of "I Say A Little Prayer".

I've updated the lead post in this thread.
From countrynation...
Beating feet to Reba's door -- Reba McEntire’s upcoming duets project was behind Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake’s visit to LA’s Record Plant on Tuesday. They came to pitch songs.
“Pharrell heard about the project and heard we were in the studio and he wrote two or three things he wanted her to hear. Justin wrote a song for her to sing with him (on the album), and she loved it,” producer Tony Brown explains.
"The Record Plant was full of people like Wyclef Jean, Will.i.am and the Pussycat Dolls. Reba and LeAnn Rimes were in the back recording. It was a pretty happening place," Brown says.
Don Henley joined Reba in the studio on Wednesday -- and the redhead was recording with Carole King yesterday (2/15).

Wow, this is so amazing. Some of the biggest names in ALL GENRES are all going to Reba hoping to sing with her. How much of an honor is that?!

The song that she and Ronnie Dunn wrote and recorded is called "Does The Wind Still Blow In Oklahoma". Thanks. I added that as well as a couple of other song titles. We may get the Kelly Clarkson song title soon because she and Reba are recording their crossroads episode next week.

That's 11 tracks. I wonder if she'll add 3-4 more songs to this album, or if it will be a "short" album. You can probably guess who I'd LOVE to see added to this project. ;)

It does seem like 11 is a bit short. There are a lot I'd like to see her sing with but the most disappointing absence, so far, is Linda Davis. In fact, I've wanted a duets album from the two since Does He Love You.
I think Reba and Faith will sound good together (though they would have sounded better 10 years ago before Faith lost her accent).
I'm most interested in the duets with LeAnn Rimes, Ronnie Dunn and Keith Urban.
I'm least interested in the duet with Kenny Chesney.
I'm most scared of the duets with Justin Timberlake and Rascal Flatts. I like RF but I can't even try to picture Reba and Gary's voices together.

I can't wait for this. Should be good, and I'm interested to see how her very distinctive voice blends with all of these diverse folks.
I'm assuming the lead single will be the duet with Kelly since the Crossroads features her. I'm also assuming that they will premiere the episode around the album release.
Hope this gets Reba back to the upper chart echelons. The singles from No. 1s were a commercial disaster.

I am excited for this and there are some great choices for duet partners, but overall, I'm disappointed in the not-so-good ones. I'll probably buy just the ones I like on iTunes.

Some tour dates have been posted on Reba's site. Also, the tour is called the "Key To The Heart" tour...possible album title?

I believe Key To The Heart was the tour name for her show in Vegas. That name is tied to her affiliation with Habitat for Humanity.
According to the Tennessean, they are trying to line up a duet with Beyonce. I should reserve judgment until I hear the songs, but it seems she's really trying to go commercial with this record. Timberlake and Beyonce on a country duets record???

Sounds like she's trying to go urban. I just can't see her voice meshing with alot of these artists. I think she may be doing it just to try to get her popularity back.

Well she'll never sound anything but country with her voice. I think this is definitely a move to gain some attention. Not that I won't buy it or enjoy it, but I think she's definitely trying to do something to get some of her shine back and appear relevant. I don't blame her. She's a smart businesswoman and this seems like a good move to me.

It just seems that to me though that trying to get some of those artists will turn away some of her core fan base which to me wouldnt be very smart.

Ronnie Dunn - Recorded; Entitled "Does The Wind Still Blow In Oklahoma"; Written by Ronnie/Reba Geez, why doesn't Kix contribute to collaborations anymore?! At least Kix sang a FEW notes on "If You See Him/If You See Her".... Kelly Clarkson - Recorded; Entitled "A Lot Like You" Yuck. I doubt it'll ever beat "The Heart Won't Lie". Justin Timberlake - Written by Justin Double yuck. I bet this one will be more cliché than "Forever Love". Sorry for my negative slant, but I'm kinda unsure of this album. The Faith and Ronnie ones sound good.

It just seems that to me though that trying to get some of those artists will turn away some of her core fan base which to me wouldnt be very smart. Actually, I think her foray into other entertainment fields whittled down her core fan base. Those core fans who stuck with her when music wasn't her focus (like myself) aren't going anywhere just because she records a song or two with pop artists. My concern isn't the genres from which some of her duet partners come. Rather, it's the specific individuals from those genres. One of my favorite Reba duets is Since I Fell For You with Natalie Cole. I would much prefer another duet with Natalie Cole than Beyonce. Even some of the country choices do not seem like the best fit. As much as I love Reba and will, no doubt, enjoy this cd, I wish they would have gone with artists that will better complement Reba's vocals than just go with what's hot now.

Actually, the duet with Kelly is one that I think is appropriate and will sound good. Kelly can sing any genre, is a country girl at heart, and sounded good with Reba on Does He Love You. When you FINALLY get around to doing a Top 5/Bottom 5 for Reba, I can already tell you that The Heart Won't Lie will be on my bottom five. I hate the lyrics. I hate the melody. I especially hate the video.

I also think the Kelly duet will be great. I really liked Kelly's performance of 'Does He Love You'. She has a GREAT voice. I mean, have any of yall heard 'Because Of You'?! Wow, that's the song that made me like her, beautiful song both vocally and instrumentally.

I thought that Kelly sounded flat on her version of DHLY, and I didn't like her renedition of Take It Back either. She just didn't have that slight "growl" that made the song for me.

Justin and Reba make beautiful music togetherBy BEVERLY KEEL There was a mutual admiration society Saturday at Starstruck Studios when Justin Timberlake sang with Reba McEntire on the song he co-wrote for her upcoming duets album. "I think everybody will be surprised by the song we did," says producer Tony Brown. "I know Reba and I were surprised when he pitched us the song in Los Angeles." Justin penned "The Only Promise that Remains" with good friend Matt Morris, our own phenomenally talented singer/songwriter (Christina Aguilera has cut his stuff) who is the son of country crooner Gary Morris. Brown describes it as a Celtic love song. "It was all very organic, with a dobro and fiddle, upright bass and two acoustic guitars," he says. "It was a really beautiful folk song." Justin performed Friday night at Nashville Arena but had plenty of energy left for his vocal performance the next day. "He is just a great singer," Tony says. "You know that he must be to do all the things he's done. You don't realize it until you see him sing and help Reba work on the melody. He not only sang but co-produced it with Reba and me." Justin's gifts as a piano and guitar player and songwriter also impressed the producer. He says Justin was just as impressed with Reba. "He was totally blown away by her," he says. "Every time she would do one of her Reba stylistic licks, he would go crazy." Reba recorded with Trisha Yearwood on Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson on Thursday and Rascal Flatts on Friday. "It was quite a week," Tony says.

I can't wait for this. Some of it sounds crazy and interesting at the same time. I want to hear what Pharrell wrote for her! LOL. New Reba & The Neptunes joint!
Looks like the album is shaping up with 11 songs confirmed to have been recorded. Only Keith Urban and Beyonce are still questionable.

What kind of sales does everyone predict for this album? I was thinking that it won't do much better than her #1's album. But I can see it becoming a pretty big download album. Any hardcore JT fan, Kelly Clarkson, or Beyonce fans would just download the duet itself. I can't see many people outside of the country fan world buying this.

I started hyperventilating when I read this on countrynation.com. Apparently, a single is expected next month.
As for the expected sales question from BigBlueNote, I think it will at least match the #1s cd which is platinum (sold around 750K). She had zero radio success with that cd though. While I'm not sure she'll ever top the radio charts again even with a duet, she'll definitely see more radio airplay this time around. Plus, she hasn't seen an award nomination in ages but I'd have to think she'd be guaranteed some collaboration nominations which will mean additional exposure. So I think a million is definitely doable. 1.5 million is within reach if she could collect 2 or 3 strong radio hits. Anything more would be great!
