Pretty meh but I had the same reaction too when I first heard Break Free and that ended up in my top 5 of last year. I have a feeling that this won't grow much on me though.

I like this.
I actually like this a lot more than "Stay the Night" and "Break Free" though lol

I like the song. Got it stuck in my head after the first listen. This should go top 20 easy.

On first listen it kind of drags and is missing a certain punch. The chorus had potential to be anthemic, but it definitely misses the mark. I also feel like the lyrics sound a bit trite and forced.
I was really anticipating this and like them both, gonna give it another couple listens.

This song is the definition of mediocre. I can't get over the blandness of it all. It's not bad, but it's not amazing either. It's just... there. Which, in the short term, that'll bode well for it catching on, but in the long term, it'll be forgotten easily and lost in the shuffle.

Zedd is the definition of mediocre. He's the DJ Mustard of house.

Just listened to it for the first time a few minutes ago and Zedd never fails to impress me! And Selena was not too bad either. Way to go!

Radio edit is on AllAccess - it cuts out part of the instrumental break between the first chorus and second verse, aka one of the only interesting parts of the song (part of the coda is also cut).

Her vocals are atrocious on this. Mono-tone all the way through, structure of the song is super repetitive, and the actual sound is so dated. Such a letdown.

This is missing authenticity. It is generic as hell and sounds like countless other dance songs we've heard. There's nothing memorable about it. C'mon, Zedd.

I don't get this forum's enthusiasm over Zedd. Everything always sounds uninspired, and this is no different. It's just so blah.

I try to not say this often as it seems a lot of people do and it loses meaning but...all of his singles sound exactly the same. The only singles that Zedd has been connected to and were at least a bit upgraded were "Beauty and a Beat"/"Break Free", and those were both produced with Max Martin.
I just don't understand the appeal.

'Break Free' sold me because of Max Martin's writing; but, for the record, I don't think this sounds anything like it. I love Selena. I don't love this.

Many of Zedd's songs sound similar, but I don't see how that's a bad thing. He has a distinct style and is really good at it.
And maybe its generic, but at least the beat is entertaining. I can't say the same for his EDM contemporaries like Avicii and Calvin Harris. To me, their stuff also sounds homogenous and generic, and they water their beats down for the radio, too.
As far as Chr dance artists go, Seed is my favorite.

Catchy song but typical Zedd production. I can definitely see this doing well on radio. I like this better than Stay The Night, but this is still below Break Free for me.

Zedd's been on a diminishing returns slide ever since the greatness that was/is "Clarity", and this song is no exception. It's not bad, but as Au$tin said, it's just...there. It's like... this is what we were eagerly awaiting?

Was hoping for much better. You know it's a forgettable song when the most exciting part is a drum fill.
Of course, with the exception of Phil Collins

Check this comment from Zedd's youtube channel:
"This isn't auto tune, for those of you who have zero idea how production and vocal processing works most vocals (aka all your favorite artists) most often undergo a process called pitch correction. This is where the pitches of notes are manually corrected to account for small errors in singing. This is entirely different to auto tune. Auto tune is tpain and kesha, this is pitch correction which is used on about every major label release. It doesn't mean she's a bad singer, it's simply to make the finished product sound as perfect as it can be. Educate yourselves, D**n."
Is this person correct?
and FTR, I think this song is better than stay the night but not as good as break free or clarity
