Canaan Smith's full length album "Bronco" comes out June 23rd. Thanks for posting! I had my eye on this date--I was looking at the release schedule the other day and I was quite confident that they'd pick June 23. Mercury is releasing a lot of albums in June. They have one on every Tuesday except for the 16th. The 2nd is Billy Currington, the 9th is Kacey Musgraves, the 23rd is Canaan, and the 30th is Easton Corbin. And of course they have Chris Stapleton's album out next week as well.

Makes sense. Canaan should be close to top 10 at that point, and the single is still selling remarkably well. Great for a song that once went recurrent.

God, Canaan Smith is gorgeous. I wish I liked "Love You Like That" more than I do, but I'm still interested in hearing what else he has in store for us on Bronco.

Album cover for Canaan. He looks so good in it, the font is questionable but I like how he looks. Yes, I might find him very cute. ha His site has a pre-order option (CD + Autographed booklet) for $19.98: www.myplaydirect.com/canaan-smith

I agree with avalyn that the font is questionable; in fact I really don't like it at all. The word Bronco on the light green grass doesn't quite work IMO. He looks fine but that black leather jacket is just odd. I know he's worn it numerous times but I never considered a black leather jacket as something that a self-described "nitty gritty boy" would wear... That being said, it's just an album cover.

Kenny Chesney Co-Produces David Lee Murphy’s Next AlbumMurphy Scored Hits in the ‘90s With "Party Crowd," "Dust on the Bottle" Kenny Chesney is co-producing a new album for singer-songwriter David Lee Murphy, who scored a series of Top 10 hits as a country artist during the ‘90s. The two co-produced the album, No Zip Code, with Chesney’s longtime producer Buddy Cannon. A record label and release date have not been announced. Signed to MCA Records, Murphy claimed his first Top 10 hit in 1995 with “Party Crowd” and followed it up with “Dust on the Bottle,” which spent two weeks atop Billboard’s country chart. In recent years, the Illinois native has become one of Nashville’s most successful songwriters with a string of credits including Chesney’s “Pirate Flag,” “Living in Fast Forward,” “Live a Little” and “Til It’s Gone.” His other hits as a songwriter include Jason Aldean’s “Big Green Tractor” and “The Only Way I Know,” Thompson Square‘s “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” and “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About” and Jake Owen‘s “Anywhere With You.” “We got together to make a record of songs we liked the sound of … things we’d want to listen to ourselves, the kinda music we like,” Murphy said. “Kenny’s got great ears, and I kept sending him demos … more than he could ever record, but he just loved the songs. One day, he said, ‘I think we oughta go make a record.’” “There’s a real aggression to this,” Chesney said in describing the upcoming album. “But it’s also core country like it’s not being done. Not retro, but the way Alabama or the Dirt Band might sound today. … This is about being raised on the right influences and hitting it straight on.” CMT: www.cmt.com/news/1753631/kenny-chesney-co-produces-david-lee-murphys-next-album/

That news is making me Loco haha. I actually have David's last studio album, Tryin' To Get There and there were some solid tracks on that record ("Mama's Last", "Inspiration"), but not overly impressive. "Loco" was great though - easily one of my all-time favorites, and the "Muy Caliente mix" version was even better. Can't wait for his new music.

THE TRISHAS’ JAMIE LIN WILSON DELIVERS FIRST FULL SOLO ALBUM, HOLIDAYS & WEDDING RINGS, ON MAY 19 Collaborators include Wade Bowen, Jon Dee Graham, Heather Morgan, Owen Temple, Reckless Kelly’s Dave Abeyta and other top Texas artists; Bowen and Wilson duet on co-written “Just Some Things” SourceWilson’s son, Thomas Roy, chose to arrive on the birthday of his preselected if-it’s-a-boy namesake, her late father-in-law (she and husband Roy like to learn their babies’ sexes the old-fashioned way: at birth). The album, produced by John Ross Silva and Kevin Szymanski, arrives May 19, 2015. Picking up where her 2010 EP, Dirty Blonde Hair, left off, Holidays & Wedding Rings finds Wilson marking milestones large and small in 12 country-leaning Americana tunes, many written with collaborators including Jon Dee Graham, Heather Morgan and Wade Bowen — who also duets on his co-write, “Just Some Things.” The imagery within these songs is so rich, listening feels almost like flipping through someone’s photo album — one filled with images reflecting the strong bonds of a woman whose roles include daughter, wife, mother, relative and friend. Those relationships fill almost every track, in soul-baring lyrics that touch the heart, yet never overdose on sentimentality. If we could peek inside a similar history of Wilson’s music-making career, we’d find evidence of a rather fabulous trajectory, though it traces back less than 15 years. Wilson first picked up a guitar during her sophomore year at Texas A&M after watching Natalie Maines do a solo tune during a Dixie Chicks concert. By the time she was a junior, Wilson was writing songs and performing in the Sidehill Gougers, which morphed into the Gougers. (She’d also dumped engineering to study agricultural journalism.) Together, they released two albums and an EP, and toured extensively. They were regulars at MusicFest, the annual music-and-skiing shindig in Steamboat, Colo., where Wilson sometimes played solo as well. At the 2009 MusicFest, she gigged with the Gougers and harmonized with friends Kelley Mickwee, Liz Foster and Savannah Welch in what was supposed to be a one-off performance in tribute to Savannah’s dad, singer-songwriter Kevin Welch. They so wowed listeners, booking offers immediately flowed in — for a “band” that didn’t have a name until forced to pick one before going onstage. They became the Trishas, in homage to a Welch-penned Trisha Yearwood hit. Just as she had in college, Wilson, a planner by nature, allowed serendipitous opportunity to take her where it might. The Trishas signed a songwriting deal with Warner/Chappell Music, toured with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Todd Snider, and recorded with Raul Malo, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Savannah’s dad — even before releasing their 2010 EP, They Call Us the Trishas. They also contributed a track to the Grammy-nominated This One’s for Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark, named Album of the Year at the 2012 Americana Honors & Awards. Wilson also released her solo EP in 2010, and gave birth to her first child, Joanie. She was pregnant with her second, Maggie, when the Trishas released High, Wide & Handsome in 2012; the album earned 4- and 5-star ratings from both critics and fans. For road trips, they bundled babies (including Savannah’s then-newborn) and nannies into a former daycare-center van; along the way, their friendship became a sister-like bond — and built-in support system.

Courtney Patton's So This Is Life will release on 6/9
From her Kickstarter page: I'm headed back in to the studio to work on a new album under the guidance of my dear friend, Drew Kennedy, as producer. Drew gets a sound on his albums that I crave - raw, breathable, acoustically driven, stripped down. I aim to make a traditional country album that would make a younger Willie Nelson proud. Think "Red Headed Stranger" Willie. This record will be full of new material, including a few Larry Hooper co-writes and possible a cover of one of my husband's (Jason Eady) songs that was written for me to sing. I'm proud of how I've grown as a writer, and I'm excited about the material that will fill this album. It's country. And it's full of waltzes. And I'm not apologizing for either of those things

When do u think Jason Aldean releases a Greatest Hits CD. He's been out for 10 years, so there is a decade full of hit out there. The only single to not make top 10 is "Relentless". 23 singles 22 Top 10's, 17 Top 5's, 13 #1's. So I think it's time for one 6 albums later.

Another artist ripe for a greatest hits CD is Lady Antebellum.

I'm intrigued by an Aldean greatest hits collection. He seems like an artist that will make one as unique as possible and really it's own thing. So to play executive record producer, when the time does come I'd like to see him include live, acoustic, and remixed versions of hits and shoot maybe even go back and give some of the should've would've been hits a last shot at radio. Songs like Asphalt Cowboy or Not Every Man Lives. Maybe even include some of the unique covers he's done live.

HITS isn't always a definitive schedule. A lot of their dates, especially a couple months out, are just tentative dates that they've received from the labels. Considering HITS is the only place that ever reported the late August release date, I don't think it was ever set in stone. The album is done, and I expect Big Machine to time its release for when they think the single will be at or close to its peak.
