Went and saw Bucky Covington tonight in my hometown, he said he's been on hiatus because he and his wife had a baby but he just finished up in the studio. He didn't give a release date or title, but he played two new songs. One was called "Happy Man" and the other "Sizzling Summer " or something like that. "Sizzling Summer " had a feel of today's style to it so needless to say I didn't like it. ????

Of course.....urgh....worst news of the day Not surprising, given how slowly "Fly" is climbing. It's unfortunate though because I fear they've lost a lot of momentum. It really is too bad they weren't ready to release when "Girl In A Country Song" was current.

Of course.....urgh....worst news of the day Right after I tried to be optimistic about it. Apparently zaclord 🌈 can see the future and I can't, lol. On the bright side, I'm really excited that we're getting new albums from Gloriana, Kacey Musgraves, and Toby Keith in June. I also must say that I love Kacey's album title. And I'm a bit surprised that Gloriana's third album is coming out since "Trouble" hasn't been selling so hot, but it is Top 25 in airplay and I feel that if they didn't release it now, we may never see it. I'm sure it would've been nicer if they had a bigger hit to launch it, but I am really glad they're putting it out anyway. I wish that would happen more often.

Unfortunately, I have to say they made the right decision to push back Maddie & Tae. "Fly" actually isn't doing too bad, up to #30 on Billboard after only 13 weeks, but it will probably be a 30-35 week chart run before it peaks. It's manage to do really well for a newcoming female act that's not selling too well (this song, not GIACS).
I too really like the name of Kacey's new album. It's just unfortunate that "Biscuits" won't be anywhere near the top of the charts when it comes out :(

New Lindi Ortega due out August 7th: Faded Gloryville spins stories about chasing your dreams (or your loved ones) and stumbling across something dark and desolate — whether it's a state of mind or a lonely bowling alley — along the way. Some stay in Faded Gloryville, too tired to dust themselves off and continue the journey. Others push forward. Source

Though The Muscle Shoals Recordings may sound like something historic, as in 'from the vault,' it is fully from this moment. This is the fourth SteelDrivers studio album, made up of all-new material, mostly original, and recorded in Muscle Shoals at the legendary NuttHouse Recording Studio. Much of the inspiration came from Muscle Shoals, an area of exultation and experimentation, and home to the SteelDrivers' lead vocalist, writer, and lead singer Gary Nichols, with the band joined by Nichols' lifelong friend Jason Isbell on two songs. The group continues its rich musical progression, conjuring music drenched in soul, blues, bluegrass, R&B, country, and rock 'n' roll. Can a new album be a classic album? If the 'blend of soul and slink, blues and country, mountain coal and red dirt,' as Peter Cooper characterized their sound, is timeless, the SteelDrivers have delivered another new classic. Fiddle-player, songwriter, and singer Tammy Rogers aptly describes the 'realness, rawness, and edge' in the band's sound. With Nichols having written nearly half of the new songs and Rogers most of the balance, this is the SteelDrivers' most fully realized album to date, and another spectacular step forward. Source

However, I am STOKED about Kacey's album. Pageant Material is a fantastic title and June 9th is a great day to release it! The sooner the better

I hope I enjoy this more than their last disc. I'm a fan of Gary Nichols , but Stapleton left a huge hole in their sound when he left.

Unfortunate that Maddie & Tae's got delayed, but not overly surprising. Pumped for new Gloriana music, and of course, really excited for Kacey's as well (love the title and the tracklisting.) Really liking Toby's new single, so that album could end up being great as well.

Sad for the longer wait for Maddie & Tae, but with Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves & Lindi Ortega on the horizon I'll live. (plus all the other albums I still need to get and were already announced!)

I'm guessing June 2 is probably more of a tentative release date for Gloriana's album...as in, that's what the label was hoping for. But it's barely 5 weeks away and we haven't heard anything about the album, so my guess is that it'll get pushed back.

Thats the week of Fan Fair , Fan Fest (or whatever they are calling it these days) And probably a great time to release music with so many eyes trained on Nashville.

Yeah , I was being facetious. I along with most Nashvillians thought the name change was ridiculous and unneeded.

Corey Smith is prepping the upcoming release of his 10th album, with lead single “Feet Wet” impacting country radio May 11. In the past, the Georgia native has produced his own albums, but he tapped hitmaker Keith Stegall (who has produced fellow Georgians Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson) to helm While The Gettin’ Is Good, which is set to drop June 23 on Rounder/Sugar Hill. It is his debut for the label.
Smith penned all 12 songs on the project, which was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, and Ronnie’s Place in Nashville. Among the musicians on the outing are Mike Hines, Kris Dale, Lee Davis, Antwane McMullin, Eric Darken, Dan Dugmore, John Willis, Stuart Duncan and Sam Levin.

Corey Smith's album will be Sugar Hill not "Rounder/Sugar Hill"
Rounder's parent company Concord bought Welk Music Group and put their Sugar Hill label under Rounder. That's probably the confusion. The two labels will continue to operate as different imprints.

John Anderson will release a new album titled Goldmine on May 26th. John Anderson, will release his new album, Goldmine, on May 26. Released on his own record label, Bayou Boys Music, the 13-track collection of original material features authentic lyrics and Anderson’s signature sound. The award-winning and hall of fame songwriter wrote or co-wrote 12 of the album’s 13 tracks. Goldmine is an album that was cut with the artist in complete control. Anderson produced the record with long-time friend and producer Joe Spivey. “With Goldmine, I thought, first off, I’m going to take my songs into the studio and make a record like I think it ought to be made, without all those other influences,” Anderson says, “I’m more pleased with the sound of this record than I have been in a long time.” The first single, “I Work a Lot Better” will be shipped to radio on May 11. When asked about the single, Anderson stated, “It was actually Josh Turner’s idea. He is a fine young man, a great talent and a real asset to modern day country music. Josh and I have written several songs together and it’s always a pleasure to write with him”. Raised in Apopka, Fla., John Anderson grew up listening to both rock and traditional country. In the end, Anderson resisted the call of rock ‘n roll and chose to pursue his country music dreams, and is recognized as one of the greatest country singers to ever step up to the microphone and possesses one of the most instantly identifiable vocal instruments in the history of the genre. In 1977, Anderson signed with Warner Brothers Records and had his first major hit in 1980 with Billy Joe Shaver’s, “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I’m Gonna Be a Diamond Someday).” Other hits include the classic “Wild and Blue” released in 1982, and “Swingin,” the No. 1 Billboard Country single co-written with Lionel Delmore that would lead Anderson to garner the CMA Horizon Award. Throughout his career, Anderson has produced 23 albums and released more than 60 singles (26 of which charted in the Top 10). He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on October 5, 2014, and holds a wealth of industry awards including Academy of Country Music Career Achievement Award. When asked about his upcoming album Goldmine, Anderson remarked, “I’m really proud of this album. At this point, it’s just for me and the fans. A best case scenario for me is if the fans that have loved our music and supported us for so many years know Goldmine is out there, and how to get it, I’ll be happy.” Source
Official Tracklist: 1. Freedom Isn’t Free (John Anderson/James C. Hicks Sr.) 2. Magic Mama (Merle Haggard) 3. Back Home (John Anderson/Jimmy Stevens/Jeff Farr) 4.
