Gee a song called "Drunk On Your Love" on Brett's new album. That sounds like a fresh idea. Comparing being drunk to being in love? I mean when have we ever had a big hit song about that? I like Brett and he's got a great voice, but I'm slowly losing any interest in him as each day goes by. So disappointed. Hopefully there will be some pleasant surprises from him.

Lol he never even really got a hit, love his voice and am still disappointed he didn't take off but why not just call this his debut album instead of 'Best Of'?

^ You know Curb, if you really are that desperate to make a buck, you could release Mo Pitney's album, just sayin'.....

Artist: Stoney LaRue Album: Us Time Label: eOne Release date: Oct 30, 2015
After three years in between his last few albums, it appears that LaRue is following up last year's critically acclaimed Aviator with another project. The title track has been around a long time. It's a track he's performed live many times over the years and even shared with a television performance on Texas Music Scene that you can watch here.
Artist: Emmylou Harris Album: Hot Night in Roslyn Label: Icongraphy Release date: Sep 18, 2015
This release is a live radio broadcast recording done by Emmylou Harris and her band back in 1976 during the very height of her popularity. By this stage in her career, Emmylou was already an established artist in her own right. Two of her three extant studio albums, 'Pieces Of The Sky' and 'Elite Hotel', had been bona fide hits on the US Country Music charts, reaching numbers 7 and 1 respectively. Emmylou's latest studio album, concurrent with this broadcast, was 'Elite Hotel' and this radio recording has that record extensively featured here
Artist: Merle Haggard Album: Live on the Silver Eagle Radio Show Label: Hotspur Release date: Aug 7, 2015
By the time Merle Haggard played Nashville's Opryland theme park in 1982, he had a decade and a half of country stardom under his belt. He draws on one of the deepest repertoires in popular music on this Silver Eagle radio broadcast, including such mammoth hits as "Okie from Muskogee," "Workin' Man Blues," "Big City," and "I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink." The two-dozen-song set also includes less familiar tunes that testify to Haggard's astonishing versatility, including covers of classics by Bob Wills, Lefty Frizzell, and Jimmie Rodgers, as well as his hit duet with Leona Williams, "The Bull & the Beaver." The complete broadcast is presented here in digitally remastered sound with background liners.
Artist: The Judds Album: Girls Night Out- Live 85' Label: Hotspur Release date: Aug 21, 2015
In the mid-1980s, the mother-daughter duo of Naomi and Wynonna Judd became one of the hottest acts in country music, reeling off five straight number-one country singles in 1984 and 1985. All of those chart-toppers -- "Mama He's Crazy," "Why Not Me," "Girls' Night Out," "Love Is Alive," and "Have Mercy" -- were included in this October 27, 1985 concert at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia. Broadcast on WCSM-FM in Hampton as part of the Silver Eagle Cross Country Radio series, it also includes highlights from their debut EP and first pair of albums, as well as covers of Rodney Crowell's "One Way Rider" and Little Richard's "Rip It Up." The entire broadcast is presented here in digitally remastered sound with background liners.
Artist: Asleep at the Wheel Album: Havin' a Party- Live! Label: Goldenlane Release date: Aug 28, 2015
This CD and DVD combination is, as the press release announces, "One spectacular live event by Texas swing traditionalists Asleep At The Wheel. Includes boot-stomping performances of the classics Choo Choo Ch Boogie, The Letter That Johnny Walker Read (#10 Country Singles chart), Hot Rod Lincoln and much, much more! DVD includes the full concert, professionally shot with multiple cameras, 5.1 surround sound mixes and special behind the scenes footage and interviews!"
Artist: Patty Griffin Album: Servant of Love Label: Thirty Tigers Release date: Sep 25, 2015
Servant of Love is the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter's tenth album, and her first to be released on her new self-owned imprint in conjunction with Thirty Tigers. It marks the third time she has collaborated with producer Craig Ross. In Servant of Love, Patty Griffin digs deep into folk and roots tradition with its grounding in the experience and rhythms of the everyday, but she also writes in the vein of another tradition, less often mined: the transcendentalism of writers like Emerson and Whitman. Grounding itself in the natural world and finding patterns there which speak both to human experience and to the call of the spirit, Griffin's new album weaves an elemental spell out of the stuff of life.

Not sure if there's a more appropriate place to discuss this, but I'm a little amazed at Thomas Rhett's track listing. It's SO pop, both in terms of the writing credits and the feature artists. Could be an incredibly cool risk or could push the edge of the envelope a bit too much in terms of what country radio will accept? I guess? theshotgunseat.com/thomas-rhett-releases-the-track-listing-for-tangled-up/

I'll try not to judge it before I hear it but if your two collaborations are with Jordin Sparks and some guy named "Lunch Money Lewis"... Does that one song really have fourteen writers...? This joke of a "country" artist may just "genre-bend" us to the point of "genre broken".

This joke of a "country" artist may just "g enre-bend" us to th e point of "genre broken" . I would love to know who gave the green light on ushering this album out to the country markets. It cannot just be Scott at BMLG. There has to be others surrounding and willing to brand the album. It looks like a pop album, and based solely on "Crash And Burn" it is. I know country has lent itself more to the pop side of the music industry, but wow. I am not happy, but I know I am not alone. It feels as if Thomas Rhett is literally allowing the country format to 'Crash and Burn.' This is the kind of material I hope radio does not support. I do hate to judge an album or even an artist prior to the release of an album, because, IMO Thomas has given us one good song...that being "Beer With Jesus." I will reserve further judgement until I hear this album. And, to think I was about to say there were no words to describe my disappointment. I think the inner traditional country fan in me came out and took over.

Really curious to me that Dallas Davidson got a lot of flack and disdain on this board and with lots of critics and bloggers for ushering in the Bro movement. However, this new trend with Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt and Keith Urban and Jake Owen seems to have Shane McAnally all over it yet I see no mention of him with the bloggers and critics. This new sound is further away from Country than the Bro sounds was and I am not sure it's any better for the genre.

He helped Sam Hunt with all that nonsense, but he also helped Kacey Musgraves and Brandy Clark quite a bit. He has also co-written some recent greats such as "Country Side of Heaven" (Eric Paslay/Craig Morgan), "Overrated" (Tim McGraw), "Stay a Little Longer" (Brothers Osborne), "Say You Do" (Dierks Bentley) and the outstanding "Neon" (Chris Young). I would agree that lately he's been credited with many a crap song, though.

No he didn't sound familiar because I listen to country music. :) Listening to that song, the music sounds like some kind of high-speed montage of high schoolers trying to clean up the house party mess before parents come home from vacation. The words sound like a bad-mouthed 6th grader ranting about lunch money. My favorite part is: And my girl just keep on howlin'She said she gonna leave meIf I don't come home with fifty thousandGod d**n, God d**n, God d**n, God d**nOh man, oh man, oh man, oh manGod d**n, oh man, God d**n, oh manCan't wait to hear this album!

Fucking dead @ him having a collab with Lunch Money Lewis of all people. What the.. I actually love Jordin Sparks but that's a pretty WTF-worthy choice too, but I'll be all for that if it sounds good and especially if it becomes a hit single since she's kinda been out of the spotlight for awhile since her last pop hit was clear back in like 2009 now.

Dallas Davidson has surprisingly written two of my favorite songs ever, The Clown (recorded by Hilary Lindsey and Jessica Andrews) and Dirt Cheap (recorded by Catherine Britt and Ashley Ray). Even more surprising is the fact the Luke Bryan helped to write the latter. It hasn't sunk in yet.

The clip of the song is promising to me. It can be heard here in the wedding video for Tyler Hubbard. No, it's not an original topic but what is these days? In regards to that song, it was never supposed to be on the album. It was written before the first album. Brett was friends with Tyler's wife and played it for her. She loved the song since she'd heard it back then and eventually played it for Tyler when they started dating. They decided to use it for the wedding video and fans loved it when they heard it. So there has been a bit of a request for the song to be released. www.people.com/article/tyler-hubbard-wedding-video-hayley-stommelwww.people.com/article/brett-eldredge-drunk-on-your-love-story-behind-tyler-hubbard-wedding-song
