Like Chris' previous albums, I am super excited. I wish he would have at least given the release date too. But, to know it will be this fall is good enough for now.

Corb Lund will be releasing Things That Can't Be Undone on 10/2 on New West Records.
Watch video teaser here.
"Lund brought a collection of his most personal and reflective songs he has ever written to producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, A Thousand Horses). The result is a dynamic energy that retains Corb’s authenticity. This album, Corb’s 4th for New West Records finds the Canadian based performer poised to continue to grow his audience in the US."

Really curious to me that Dallas Davidson got a lot of flack and disdain on this board and with lots of critics and bloggers for ushering in the Bro movement. However, this new trend with Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt and Keith Urban and Jake Owen seems to have Shane McAnally all over it yet I see no mention of him with the bloggers and critics. This new sound is further away from Country than the Bro sounds was and I am not sure it's any better for the genre. As others have mentioned, I think Shane McAnally gets a pass because one can't really pin him down to a single formula -- he is aligned with some of the genre's most acclaimed modern traditionalists, and he also has a hand in some strong contemporary country material in addition to the non-country examples you noted. As for what's better or worse for the genre, I'll freely admit that while I am quite concerned about country radio being closed to country music, I am even more concerned about quality/creativity issues at country radio and bro country's damaging treatment of women (which, I think, spilled over into a more difficult environment for female artists at country radio). So, for example, as laughable as I think it is that Sam Hunt is on a radio format billed as country, I appreciate, at least, that his popularity is built on songs that acknowledge and respect female agency, and hope that rolls back some of the damage done by Florida-Georgia Line and the like. That said, I have wondered whether McAnally isn't at or close to the point of being stretched too thin at this point. Absolutely everyone is cutting his songs, he has moved into production, and the pressure to keep defining and redefining current country without degenerating into self-parody must be quite intense.

Poor Chris has no neck though :o It also, to me, looks very cheaply done like it was made in Paint or by some kid for an arts & crafts project with that cut-out white effect it has going, lol. But I am excited about the album since I do love Chris Young's voice and "I'm Comin' Over" certainly has me far, far more excited for a new record than "Aw Naw" ever did. Chris is one of my favorite male vocalists and I'm hoping he wins me back over with this new album after kind of losing me with A.M.

Good Points. I do believe there comes a time that there is a saturation point and Labels went overboard with Dallas Davidson penned songs and they are doing the same with Shane McAnally songs. It's the reason everything starts sounding alike. You mention that he can't be pinned down to a single formula but I think he can when you seperate out what he pens with other writers vs. what he pens with Artists. Obviously with Kacey his songs sound like her formula/style. However, most of his stuff that is cut without having the Artist as a co-writer is clearly recognizable. Until he started getting so many single cuts, I probably wouldn't have labeled him formulaic.

Maybe Shania's album will actually happen. I had kind of given up hope of it ever coming out, but this sounds very promising.

The Farm will be releasing some new music very shortly and their upcoming album is finished. They're still with their own label All In Records and hopefully they are planning on partnering with New Revolution for radio airplay.

The problem with Shania is she claims she is working in the studio and that she hopes to have something out. She does it every year to us. Last time I think she promised a Christmas album and then a regular studio album to follow. It's a lot of back and forth. But I do hope she follows through this time. Despite the divorce with Mutt, I still wish they'd work together and deliver a final album together.

Artist: Green River Ordinance Album: Fifteen Label: GRO Release date: TBD (soon)
The title of Fifteen, Green River Ordinance’s first studio album in three years, has a dual meaning for the hard-working quintet. In addition to marking the fifteen years that have passed since the five bandmates first began making music together, fifteen was also the average age of the band members when the group formed.
It has been a decade and a half since they first convened in their hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, Green River Ordinance—named after their home state’s law forbidding door-to-door sales.
Green River Ordinance’s thrilling evolution continues on Fifteen, which the press release says, "matches irresistibly infectious melodies and insightful, forthright lyrics with rootsy, rousing musical flights and soaring vocal harmonies. Such catchy, upbeat tunes as “Always Love Her,” “Keep Your Cool” and “Red Fire Night,” and such intimate, personally-charged numbers as “Simple Life,” “Endlessly” and “Heart Open” offer an artful balance of electric and acoustic textures."
“When we were starting out, people would describe us as organic, or talk about us being a grass-roots band,” bassist Geoff Ice notes. “We didn’t really understand what they meant at the time, but the meaning has become clear to us in the last few years, and we’ve realized that it’s one of our biggest strengths as a band.”
“Looking back at our history, the songs that have really connected with people were the ones that we didn’t overthink or overanalyze,” observes frontman Josh Jenkins. “So with the new album, a lot of the challenge was trying to stop ourselves from thinking too much, and focusing on writing about stuff that matters to us. All you can do is try and remain present in the songs and stay in touch with the things that inspire you and move you, and have faith that that will connect with people.”
Towards that end, the band approached the making of Fifteen in a manner designed to inspire the band’s creative impulses. For some of the album’s songwriting sessions, they returned to the riverside cabin on the banks of the Caney Fork River in rural Tennessee, where they’d written much of Chasing Down the Wind. The band cut tracks for Fifteen in separate sessions with three notable producers—Paul Moak, Rick Beato and longtime GRO collaborator Jordan Critz—in three different cities. The band recorded many of its performances live in the studio, capturing the musicians’ chemistry.
“Looking at the songs that we’re writing now, and then back on the songs that we were writing when we were kids, it’s interesting to see how much things have progressed,” says Geoff. “But in some ways, it’s still the same. We’re still in the process of discovering who we are and what we can be, and communicating that as honestly as we can.”
“Fifteen is a new chapter for us, and we’re gonna be out playing as many shows as we can and making an effort to communicate with as many people as we can,” Josh concludes. “I feel lucky to be in a band with these guys who’ve been my friends since middle school, and it’s a privilege to be able to keep making music with them.”

Artist: Josh Thompson Album: Change: The Lost Record Vol. 1 Label: Ole Release date: Sept. 18, 2015
Between Josh Thompson’s debut album, Way Out Here, and sophomore project, Turn It Up, he completed an album that was to come out under the Sony Records umbrella, but it was shelved when he lost his deal and moved to Show Dog-Universal Music.
Now that Josh is no longer with either label, that unreleased album will see the light of day in two parts. Volumes 1 and 2 of Change: The Lost Record will be released digitally in a new partnership through publishing company ole. Considering that ole has a big publishing stake in the songs on Change, the venture was a natural choice for both parties.
“I always knew that one day I wanted to release this Change record, because I’ve had fans for the last five years asking me where were these songs and when could they get ahold of this record,” Josh explains to Nash Country Weekly. “Finally, it’s the perfect time to release this record, since I’m on my own. It’s time to get it out there. I am super-excited the record is finally coming out.”
Fans of Josh are already familiar with one of the tracks on Change, the 2011 Top 40 single “Comin’ Around.” The release of the album will also open up opportunities down the road for the possible release of a brand-new project for which he has been writing and recording since the release of Turn It Up last year.
“It’s nice to be getting this out, finally, after all these years. People will now be able to bridge that gap between Way Out Here and Turn It Up, and it also will free me up to move forward and make a record of songs that you’ve never heard," Josh says, smiling. "It’s an exciting time. I don’t know what the future holds. It literally holds whatever I want it to hold.”
1. Same Ol Plain Ol Me 2. Work in the Mornin' 3. Over Me 4. Change 5. Gotta Go to Heaven 6. Livin' Like Hank (feat. Justin Moore)

LeAnn Rimes Bringing Christmas on the Road With Tour, New Holiday Album titled Today Is ChristmasIt may still be summer, but that doesn’t mean LeAnn Rimes isn’t already looking forward to making your Christmas bright and cheery. The country singer will hit the road again this December for her annual holiday-themed Today Is Christmas tour. “I wait for Christmas all year long, it’s my absolute favorite holiday;” Rimes says in a press release. “I can’t wait to share some of my new original Christmas songs with my fans as well as my favorite classics. I am looking forward to making more holiday memories with my fans this year.” This tour will make its way through the western part of the country, starting in Tacoma, Wash. on Dec. 4. The trek will feature ten dates with singer-songwriter Ellee Duke acting as the featured opener. Last year, Rimes released One Christmas – Chapter 1. The 32-year-old country singer is following the same suit this year by releasing another holiday album with the same name as her tour, which will coincide with her winter shows. That project is due to be released in the fall, but no exact date has been given. On 9/21, Curb will release another new single from Ashley Gearing called "Train Track." It is supposed to be followed by an EP release.
Yep, already a thread for it.

Track 12 looks like it is featuring Big and Rich and 14 looks like it says The Last Day. I'm excited for his cd. I haven't really been a huge fan of his but I've been using Apple Music to listen to some of his stuff and I've come to really like it.
