Since "Stay A Little Longer" is headed to the top 20 more than likely next week surely we will finally be getting a Brothers Osborne album sometime later this year or early 2016. Anyone heard any news about their debut album?

George's Cold Beer Conversation has been the #1 selling country album on iTunes basically since shortly after it was announced yesterday. Thomas Rhett's is second. However, if you look at the all-genre albums chart, George is sitting at #5, and Thomas is sitting at #12. That seems like a pretty significant lead to me! These numbers are based purely on digital pre-sales. I would expect Thomas to have the larger percentage of his fanbase buying digital music, so the fact that George is outselling him in the pre-sale makes me wonder if the race for #1 is not going to be as close as I had thought... I mean, they should both sell quite a few physical albums, but I imagine the vast majority of George's fanbase will be looking for the physical album, meaning the bulk of his sales haven't even started yet, while the bulk of Thomas' sales might come from the digital pre-sales. I am of course stereotyping based on the ages of their fan bases, but I do not think it is too far from the realm of possibility. Meanwhile, poor Clint Black is sitting at #162 on the country albums chart based on the strength of his digital pre-sales... That is simply awful! You made me feel bad. I just ordered Clint's album.

Not that it really matters or that it is super important but seems like MCA is working on another Reba complication album.
My hope is that along with the old hits we get some of the songs that weren't released during her time with MCA.

^I hope it is a complete box set of Reba McEntire music. After all, she was at the label between 1983-2008.

MCA released a 3 disc set called "50 Greatest Hits" in 2008.. I am not sure why they did as it did not include the following songs she recorded for the label:
Just A Little Love, He Broke Your Memory Last Night, Little Girl, If I Had Only Known, What If, We're So Good Together, Sweet Music Man, I'm Gonna Take That Mountain, My Sister, You're Gonna Be, Love Needs a Holiday and Every Other Weekend... Maybe MCA is going to release something else, just to make some extra $$ ! lol

Artist: Sierra Hull Album: Weighted Mind Label: Rounder Release date: Jan. 29, 2016
Sierra Hull, the singer and mandolinist and former child prodigy who signed with Rounder at age 13, and distinguished herself by becoming the first bluegrass musician to receive a Presidential Scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, has announced the release of her first new album in five years. Weighted Mind will be released on January 29, 2016. 15-time Grammy winner Béla Fleck produced the recording, which features eleven compelling new compositions written or co-written by Hull, and one traditional tune for which she and Fleck provided a new arrangement. Alison Krauss, Abigail Washburn, and Rhiannon Giddens add harmonies on the project.
Veteran music scribe and fellow musician Peter Cooper writes, “Hull’s bluegrass roots inform and inspire this soundscape, but bluegrass does not define or limit Weighted Mind. This is not bluegrass music, or chamber music, or pop music. This is original music, from a virtuoso who tells the truth and speaks from herself.”
Mentor Alison Krauss proclaimed, “Sierra is a remarkably talented, beautiful human being. Success could not come to a more worthy person.” Béla Fleck concurs: “Sierra and (her longtime musical partner) Ethan (Jodziewicz) proved themselves to be powerful artists, with extremely high standards. I am so glad to have ended up being a part of this project.”

Artist: Dolly Parton Album: I Believe In You Label: Imagination Library Fundraiser Release date: TBD
Dolly Parton says her Imagination Library - a foundation that provides books to children - has inspired her to write an entire children's album based on books that have been given to hundreds of thousands of children.
"I work with several publishers on the children's books we have . . . and I write songs every time we get a new book for the Imagination Library," said Parton. "We write a play around it, and then I write the song. So after so many years, we decided to put all those songs in a children's album."
According to Parton's website, the star will soon make 11 more songs available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds going to the Imagination Library.
"My own dad couldn't read and write," adds Parton. "And my dad was very proud of me. He got to live long enough to see the Imagination Library do well, so he felt like he had done something good too — that he was the inspiration for it."
The first song released off of the album is inspired by The Little Engine That Could.

Artist: Peter Cooper Album: Depot Light: Songs of Eric Taylor Label: Red Beet Records Release date: Nov. 13, 2015
Former The Tennessean music senior writer turned Country Music Hall of Fame writer/curator Peter Cooper will utilize someone else's words as inspiration for a brand new album in November with a project called Depot Light: Songs of Eric Taylor.
Named one of Nashville’s “10 Most Interesting People” by Nashville Arts & Entertainment magazine, Cooper is also a session player, a producer who has worked with Todd Snider, Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs, Fayssoux Starling McLean, and others, a professor of country music at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, and a senior music writer at Nashville’s daily paper, The Tennessean.
Eric Taylor and his songs have been on the music scene since the early 1970s, when he was an integral part of a Houston songwriting scene that included Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, and Guy Clark. Taylor is one of the most influential songwriters to ever come out of Texas. Over the years, as his reputation and song catalogue have grown, he has had a profound effect on the evolution and development of such well-known Texas artists as Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, and others. "Eric Taylor was one of my heroes and teachers when I started playing around Houston in the early 1970s," says Earle. "He's the real deal."

Artist: Chris Roberts (formerly of One Flew South) Album: The Way West Label: Catch This Music Release date: Oct. 23, 2015
Born to the Zydeco sounds of southwest Louisiana and raised near the Blackfoot River in western Montana - The river made famous by Norman McLean’s’ riveting novella “A River Runs Through It” - Chris Roberts was bound to be as comfortable in different musical styles as he is in different cultures. After receiving his liberal arts degree in History from the University of Montana he headed east to NYC and spent several years as a successful singer and actor working with groups like the New York Philharmonic and The NYC Ensemble for Early Music. Chris also acted and sang in Broadway musicals like The Civil War, Tommy and Godspell. Additionally, Chris performed a Brahms requiem with the Philharmonic at Lincoln Center and shared a stage with Paul McCartney at Carnegie Hall for Paul’s oratorio, Standing Stone.
Shortly after 9/11, Chris left the city for Nashville and the life of a singer-songwriter. It was in Nashville that he formed the group One Flew South, which was signed to Universal/Decca Records and released The Last of the Good Guys to critical acclaim. Thus far in his journey, Chris has toured and played with a diverse group of artists including The Zac Brown Band, Dave Mathews, Neil Young, The Avett Brothers, Jimmy Buffet, and Rusted Root, to name a few.
After several years of touring and publishing deals at both Sony/ATV and Warner Chappell Music, Roberts recently signed with Nashville publisher CTM Writer’s INK. While currently writing for the Country, Pop and TV/Film markets, Chris has also continued to write songs that serve as an extension of his very being. Partnering with his frequent collaborator and producer, Jason Gantt (Sony/ATV), Chris has crafted his first solo project, The Way West, set to release October 23.
The Way West features many of Chris’ favorite co-writers, including Gantt, Sam Ashworth (Switchfoot, Joy Williams, Kris Allen), Johnny Bulford (Lee Brice, Chris Young), Chris Gelbuda (Meghan Trainor, Billy Currington), and Scott Stepakoff (Tim McGraw, Kip Moore, Kelsea Ballerini), and also includes contributions from Nashville’s own Fleming & John on the track “Heartless World”. The Way West is an album full of the kind of musical diversity and emotional longing you might expect from a wanderer such as Chris Roberts.
Track listing: 1. Some Beginnings 2. On My Way To You 3. Picture on the Wall 4. Love Gets Gone 5. 63' Airstream 6. Trying to Stop the Rain 7. I Believe In You 8. Kill Me Again 9. Heartless World 10. The Way West 11. Song for a Girl

George is currently on pace to outsell Thomas Rhett this week. Amazing considering the lead time was about a week, George has no major radio hit at the moment, and, really, he has a very small social media presence comparatively. And, for what it's worth, his album is very good. But this should raise some eyebrows at the major labels. True country music, good country music, can and will sell.

With Lady Antebellum on a brief hiatus, Charles Kelley will be releasing a solo album under Capital Records. The first single, a song with help from Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay, is "The Driver" and you can listen to it HERE. The album is expected in the first quarter of 2016.
