I also disagree that this is selling poorly, this is selling at an average rate IMO.

According to Buzz Brainard (The Highway deejay), they've been told that "Save It For A Rainy Day" will be the next single off The Big Revival.
It's also been added to their playlist.

Was gonna post this...good choice. It sounds like Kenny circa early 2000s, but a little more reflective. Should be another big hit but I can see if its sales are lower like "Til It's Gone." Kind of disappointed though because I think "Flora-Bama" may be one of the best songs on the whole CD.

Save It For a Rainy Day is a good song, but Flora-Bama is so catchy, it's the only song on the album that could drive sales like American Kids did.

He played "Save It For A Rainy Day" when I saw him live, so I figured they were at least considering it. I like the song and think it's pretty pleasant, but I agree with others about "Flora-Bama". Not only does that sound like a popular big hit song, but I think it's the only song left that could drive sales (much like "American Kids" did). I think it would go over well with the college crowd, which is a really important market when you're trying to improve sales, streaming and overall buzz worthiness.

"Save It For A Rainy Day" is one of my favourites on the album, so I'll be glad if it's a single. I do agree that "Flora-Bama" sounds like the bigger hit, and would probably sell more albums/singles (thought I prefer SIFARD).

I like "Flora-Bama" enough but it just doesn't resonate with me like some others. There's nothing on this album that will be as successful sales wise as "American Kids", but "Flora-Bama" would probably be the best option. I much prefer "Save It For A Rainy Day" though and agree with @nickcountry1025 that it's a little reminiscent of early 2000's Kenny. I'm happy it will be the fourth release.

@jakelmmrs44 I would advise you to cut down on Hot 100 updates on the country forum as they may be a bit annoying to the other posters there. I was once warned by jhomes87 about this when I constantly posted Mediabase updates of songs in the country forum. Not saying you cannot post Hot 100 updates here but only for the songs that you care for. Learn from my experience. (though DRAOB recently reached a new peak of #75 but you did not post that)

I see Daryl the Beryl... After seeing your post, I took a little trip through the current Top 25 Country Songs' threads and it seems as though the folks over on the country threads don't care much for the Hot 100 updates. I don't know if that's ultimately what you were trying to tell me, but that's the conclusion I drew. The past 3 weeks, I've been posting some of the Hot 100 updates throughout the forum, but of course I already took the forum's social protocol into consideration, and I've been posting updates to only the songs that either reached a new peak on the Hot 100 or rebounded significantly with a gain in points like Elastic Heart today. Same with iTunes, I update if its reached a new peak or if it's not making progress, but it's doing well to the point that it needs an update. If the community of the Country forum doesn't want Hot 100 updates, I will respect that and I will refrain from posting them here. I understand that I will never be on good terms with everyone here due to my qualities and personality, but as I've told several people before, the last thing I want here is for anyone to think that I'm a troll or anything similar. Thank you for your advisory Daryl and I will heed to it.

For my part I do not mind the Hot 100 updates here. I actually like to know how songs are doing there too, cause it's a mixture of the sales and airplay and gives me an idea of how popular the song is

I don't mind either. However, I would incorporate some country chart action being mentioned along with updates from other charts (namely Hot 100, adult contemporary, etc.). I do not want someone to say it is at #? on another chart and just drive off. The ONLY chart I can think of doing that would be the Hot Country Songs chart that we lovingly call the mongrel chart. At least that is country (maybe). Of course, I will defer to jhomes87 on this.

Thank you for your advisory Daryl and I will heed to it. Seeing your posts throughout the board, you're an extremely friendly and intelligent poster. However, what's been said before is right, the country forum is discussion based and posting with content. An update every now and then is fine (like a song making it's debut on the airplay chart, or reaching the top 10 on the airplay chart, etc.) and a funny one liner is acceptable as we all have a sense of humor, but it should not be the totality of your posts here. I'm glad your visiting this forum though and it would be great to see you add to our discussions. We're all here to help each other and nothing is ever done personally, just being helpful. :)

I was once warned by jhomes87 about this when I constantly posted Mediabase updates of songs in the country forum. Not saying you cannot post Hot 100 updates here but only for the songs that you care for. Learn from my experience. (though DRAOB recently reached a new peak of #75 but you did not post that) When you were a newbie, I sent you a friendly PM, definitely not a warning. :) Staff doesn't warn for something like a Mediabase update or a post about a new peak position on the Hot 100. Those posts are fine (even here in the country forum). However, most of the "regular" (for lack of a better word) country forum posters would rather not have the same threads bumped up every day just for a Mediabase update or something like that. That's just kind of always been the way it is here, and I think it's because most people often check Kworb or AllAccess each day to see how multiple songs are doing, and therefore they don't need (and don't like) to see individual MB updates posted in individual threads. Also, I've found that many people here read every thread, not just a few of them, so if a bunch of them are getting bumped up for just MB updates...I hope you see what I mean. The idea is to focus more on actual discussion (of the song, of how it's doing on the charts, etc), rather than just having the same threads bumped up each day but nobody actually posting in them. So occasionally I'll send out a PM to newer country forum participants to kind of serve as a friendly suggestion to maybe not post chart updates so much, but a once a week post or a post that notes a new peak position on the Hot 100 is completely fine. As always, any questions, feel free to PM me :) I don't bite!

Any chance this doesn't go number 1? Not really. "Wild Child" is just too far in front of the pack of songs (Blake, Kelsea, Carrie, Easton) that are battling inside the top 10 right now. Kenny's song also has enough room to grow in spins and audience through next weekend.

I can't believe this could be becoming Kenny's 25th #1 hit as of next Monday's Billboard chart. I know things can change a lot in a week but I am thinking easy #1 for him for this go around as FGL has already gotten their new single sent out to radio and "SOF" will be falling this week and Kenny is a good amount ahead of Carrie and think he will be fine for a trip from #2 to #1 for next week. 1997's "She's Got It All" seems just like yesterday when that went #1 and became his first #1.

Even though this song is deserving to go #1 for a week, Kenny's timing could not have been better for his last two singles. "Til It's Gone" basically just had to not trip over the finish line to secure a #1 in January as that song's lead over "Talladega" was over 2.2 million and now "Wild Child" is nearly 4.0 million away from Carrie's "Little Toy Guns" at #3.

This just HAS to be the slowest climbing #1 single of his career by far, doesn't it?

This just does not feel like a #1 to me. I doubt this song will be heard much after it peaks, as radio will probably continue to play his bigger hits, like "American Kids" for example.

I couldn't disagree more lol. This is easily not only one of my top five favorite songs of the year (albeit so far 2015 is proving to be quite the blah year), but it's quite possibly one of my all time favorite Kenny Chesney songs. Not sure where this'll land on radio five or ten years from now, but I think this is a tune we'll still be hearing.

To me, "Til It's Gone" didn't feel like a #1. Just like a lot of KC's "lesser" singles that are here one moment, gone the next, and get no recurrent airplay at all *cough*Boys of Fall*cough*.

Neither this or his last single really felt like #1 hits to me, and I don't see either of them having much lasting impact the way "American Kids" will, especially since Kenny has so, so many juggernaut recurrent tracks for radio to chose from over the past 15 years. It's too bad that this will wind up with a better peak than "You and Tequila" considering that song was definitely bigger than "Wild Child," but I guess sometimes that just happens.
Any ideas for what's the next single from The Big Revival? I've seen some mentions by posters here of "Save It for a Rainy Day" as if it's already been confirmed to be fourth.
