Neither this or his last single really felt like #1 hits to me, and I don't see either of them having much lasting impact the way "American Kids" will, especially since Kenny has so, so many juggernaut recurrent tracks for radio to chose from over the past 15 years. It's too bad that this will wind up with a better peak than "You and Tequila" considering that song was definitely bigger than "Wild Child," but I guess sometimes that just happens. Any ideas for what's the next single from The Big Revival? I've seen some mentions by posters here of "Save It for a Rainy Day" as if it's already been confirmed to be fourth. Honestly can't see another slow song, I think he'll try to capitalize on summer and release something faster such as Beer Can Chicken(which I think sounds like classic Chesney) or also Rock Bottom(which could be an anthem of sorts for people to look up to during hard times aka very relatable) Also, I've seen him on a Bud Light commercial where Drink It Up was playing who knows maybe that one!

I don't have a link for you, but songwriter Andrew Dorff told me himself that Kenny informed him that "Save it for a Rainy Day" was indeed next. Guess we'll have to wait and see but I'll take his word for it.

"Save It For A Rainy Day" is next. Kenny told John Marks and Buzz Brainard who work for The Highway on Sirius/XM. They've been spinning it for a few weeks.

I agree with Tim 100% about this being a 'blah' year for country radio, and the last two #1 singles of the year at Mediabase (When She Says Baby & Cruise) were downright mediocre/awful IMHO.
And regardless of whom tops the year end chart among Lee Brice, Dierks Bentley or the Zac Brown Band, 'blah' pretty much sums up 2015 musically speaking IMHO.
This wouldn't make my all-time top 10 Chesney faves but it certainly isn't atrocious as was the case with Feel Like A Rockstar.

Well this hit #1!
How many Mediabase #1s has Kenny had with this? 19?

Yes, Kenny has had truly 25 #1 hits with Billboard as it will be told later today with the Billboard Country Airplay update but 2 more that peaked at #2 for Billboard but #1 for Radio And Records back in 1997 and 1998. 1997- "When I Close My Eyes" 1998- "That's Why I'm Here"

I'm glad to see that Kenny got another #1, but he really kind of lucked out here. Last week's #1, "Sippin' On Fire", peaked with 46.354 million on Billboard. Kenny's peak is only 43.398 million, which is one of the lowest #1 audience totals in quite some time, and that's because he didn't need to push to higher audience totals (he would have needed to push for higher numbers if FGL had pushed for a 2nd week at #1, though). Kenny had no competition this time out, as he finished nearly 1.6 million ahead of Kelsea, and he would have finished closer to 2.5 mil ahead of her had Columbia not pulled the plug on "Wild Child" at midnight Saturday (Kenny lost almost 900k on the Monday morning MB update, which marked the first day of the new MB week but was of course the last day of the BB week). For what it's worth, FGL didn't need to push all the way up to 46.35 million, as they had no competition either (the previous #1 was Republic Nashville label-mate A Thousand Horses), so even 43.5 million last week would have had FGL finishing ahead of Kenny. Now it looks like we're stuck in the midst of a string of 1-weekers. Kelsea will be next week, then probably Blake. Maybe "Sangria" can buck the trend, but I doubt Warner will even try for 2+ weeks, especially if Sony does a max spins push for "Little Toy Guns" leading up to 4th of July weekend (and it seems that that's what their plan is).

25 Billboard #1s
Tim McGraw - 27 Alan Jackson, George Strait - 26 Kenny Chesney - 25 Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith - 20 Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton - 19 Garth Brooks, Keith Urban - 18
That puts Kenny in 4th place for the most #1s on the Billboard Country chart. Looking at his competition, I'd say he has a shot at becoming the new leader on the chart with the most #1s!

This only includes #1's since 1990, the BDS era (1990 was when airplay started being monitored electronically). If you include the 80's and before (which virtually everyone at Pulse does), then George Strait has the most #1's, with 44. Billboard used to count those #1's as airplay #1's, but in 2012 they decided to only count them as Hot Country Songs #1's, and they made it so that the airplay chart's history began in 1990.

^ I know George has the most #1s, I'm just saying in terms of the Billboard Country chart, Kenny could potentially take the title of having the most #1s, even though he doesn't have the most #1s overall

It's just that Billboard no longer credits the first 18 of them as airplay #1's (because they occurred prior to 1990) even though they were airplay #1's.

Just reading that You and Tequila only hit #3...that's insane. That song is MILES better than this. Poor timing for it, I guess
