Oh wow, this sounds incredible. I really loved "Love" and thought it would be another big hit for her, but I'm hoping this one will be her next "Why Ya Wanna." I was hooked on this from the opening instrumentation - its so refreshingly organic and umistakably country. The vocals and lyrics and everything else are all very nicely done as well. I love the hook on this as well and the melody of the chorus. I'm not sure of any exact examples, but this reminds me of something Lee Ann Womack would do. I can just invision LAW singing that chorus, and those plucky instrumental fills are so perfect like the excellent production her stuff always has.
I've really liked all of Jana's singles this far, but the instrumentation on this one mind send this one over the edge for me to make it my favorite one yet. Looking forward to this hopefully being a hit for her. The women of country keep churning out truly great music that actually sounds country, so it'd be lovely if radio could get on board with more of these great songs for diversity's sake.

Absolutely love this song and Jana's performance on it. However, with that being said, I do not see this making any sort of dent on country radio, unfortunately.

Wow, easily the best thing she has ever released. Hopefully this gets On The Verge consideration cause this needs to be heard and her career needs a Jump start.

Dang, this is flat-out awesome. Really enjoying it.
Also, doesn't hurt that Brantley and her have split and he's now engaged (not married yet right?) to someone else. I think this song just works perfectly for her. I liked her before, but this has me on board big time with her career.

Writers for the song: Connie Harrison, Jamie Lynn Spears and Tim Nichols.
@jamielynnspears I had the chance to co-write @kramergirl’s new single #IGotTheBoy with @craeharrington and @timnicholstn!!

What a good arrangement musically. Wow, that dobro! I'd love to hear it on the radio if for no other reason than that.
Also, this tune better suits her vocally than "Love" did.

does anyone know who the current "on the verge" artist is for country. I could really see this getting consideration for that. A new group on Republic Nashville called A Thousand Horses is the current On The Verge artist. Their single "Smoke" is in the midst of its 3rd week of OTV 'promotion'. Thus, if iHeartRadio continues to do ~6 weeks for each OTV artist, the next OTV selection will probably be the last week of February or in early March (depending on if there's a slight gap between OTV selections or not).

Wow, this is really, really excellent. Her voice sounds great on it, the production is shockingly great (that prominent dobro is a nice touch), and the lyrics give an interesting, thoughtful take. Usually these type of songs are all about the emotions involved, but this song digs deeper (like country songs used to) and I like that she doesn't really resolve the internal struggle by the end of the song. If this had been the lead single I'd predict success, but Love may well have killed her momentum, so I'm not convinced this will do much, but I'll certainly be rooting for it.

This will be available for purchase and streaming and all the things on 2/10. So the adds date could be as late as march which could help them consider this song. OTV has proven to help newer country artists and it would be super sweet if they choose a female for their next artist!! :)

I love this. I think I enjoy it even more than "Why Ya Wanna", which was my favorite from her to date. She sounds fantastic here. Everything about this is fantastic. This needs to be a hit.

I honestly much prefer Love. I just can't see this taking off when Love didn't.

I would love to say I'm confident that this will do as well as why Ya wanna or close to it, but I'm not. Currently warner Nashville hasn't been on fire with getting their newer artists up the chart and I just don't see how it will be possible for them to get this one their either.
Jana's been ready to release this record for a while. I know that she doesn't have a huge fan base yet but I feel like if "I got the boy" had "why Ya wannas" chart success then she Could have a great run with the rest of her album. She just needs some feet to stand on (label support or on the verge support)
I know that Warner wants their artists to succeed so why can't they get their artist up the chart.. it's just sad. I love gloriana, hunter... and now jana may be in the same boat.
--------- edit. I just want too make clear though that i ABSOLUTELY love this single. I am slightly optimistic for a high peak.

This hit Itunes today. I wonder if will get a adds date like Ashley Monroe? Ashley's song didn't get an adds date yet. The delivery date is February 16th, which essentially means it is officially delivered to country radio. The add date will probably come in March. Jana is also on the Elektra imprint whereas Ashley's music is promoted through Warner Music Nashville's main imprint. Though they didn't really attempt to promote Ashley's last album through mainstream country radio to their fullest extent (due to Ashley's traditional country style) while Jana's will certainly get a hard push to mainstream radio (though I have a good feeling Warner will try and make a dent on mainstream country radio with "On To Something Good"). But whether or not "I Got The Boy" will be successful is another story. I really think "Love" was a drastic error for the lead single from this project. Edit: The adds date should be announced shortly. Duh, that's what you were asking about. Lol

I don't know. This feels like a huge hit. "Love" kept her in radio's hearts enough to get to this. They probably only had "Love" when they released it as a single (which is why I dislike that approach, at least have 5-6 songs to choose from when issuing first singles!).

This is a really solid song, I'm definitely a fan. But this seems a little slow to be a bit hit on radio right now (slow + female = resistance). I'm glad that others are optimistic about this one though, because I really feel like Jana should be a big star on country radio, or at least a solid B-lister. The timing of this could work out well for the next On The Verge selection too. It might be worth keeping an eye on.

Does anyone have a link to this? I can't find it anywhere! There's a link to play it on Spotify up near the very beginning of this thread. Spotify is free and it's really easy to install if you don't already have it. Otherwise the song is available for download on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. You could try listening to it on Spotify through her website too ( www.janakramer.com/). Since the song was only just released digitally, it'll probably take a day, maybe a couple of days, until it's on YouTube or other place online.
