Now #50 on MB. 7 solo females ar enow charting on the Top 50 on MB, pretty cool. Jana's #51. All Access has to manually go in and put up the #49 song since that song most likely ranks lower in spins but higher in points. I'm fairly certain. Yes, I just saw that it's updated now. #51 it is. Hoping she'll now chart this week.

Not a huge fan of this song but it gives off a Jo Dee Messing vibe to me and that alone makes me want to hear it. Especially during the chorus.

Jana is Top 40!
"I Got The Boy" wraps up a solid week with a strong 47-40 jump on tonight's Billboard chart. It gained 0.710 million, for a new audience total of 3.463 million.
7-spot jumps are definitely rare though. It helped Jana that 4 songs went recurrent and that songs in the 30's and 40's are all very close to each other audience-wise. But so far the early indicators are suggesting that this could be a hit. Sales have been really impressive, and way ahead of the airplay. When I last checked a few days ago, Jana was at #26 on the iTunes country chart, and you had to go all the way up to Eric Church's "Like A Wrecking Ball" on the airplay chart to find a song that was higher on iTunes.
I must caution though that it'll be very tough for Jana to move up again next week. I don't see any obvious recurrents, and it's likely that Thomas Rhett's "Crash and Burn" will move back ahead. But still, so far, so good for Jana.

I'm thinking this will easily get into the top 20, past that I'll have to see the next few weeks but I'd bet this gets the album released.

I can't wait to get her new album, and I'd absolutely love to see this be her biggest hit since "Why Ya Wanna." Definitely one of my favorite country songs out right now. Such a great song, and it's refreshing to see something like this selling so well with such minimal airplay thus far.

I heard this for the first time the other day and I absolutely love it. I liked "Love" and thought it would become a decent-sized hit, but this is much better. There's a great story here, and Jana sounds great. Plus, the instrumentation is pure country. Here's to hoping this continues to climb the charts!

Does anyone know how many digital downloads this has sold so far? I know its selling incredibly well for having such low airplay.
Edit: In only 13 days the video has over 300k views on youtube!!!

Coulda at least edited my typo here for "Sales" lol. This one feels like it WILL be a hit single if sales are any indication. Very few singles have sold this consistently without major airplay on the country charts.

Thanks for sharing Tylerjamesnerd! That was a beautiful performance. It really highlights the brilliance of the song's instrumentation, too. <3

I'm becoming quite enamored with Jana. She feels so refreshingly normal for someone who once was in One Tree Hill. I guess I kinda expected her to be a little diva-ish, but she comes off exactly the opposite. Not that the quality of her music is a hindrance. I'm really looking forward her sophomore album and I'm realizing I'll probably try to buy her debut when I go to the States this summer.

How's this doing haven't heard it yet. It's currently #43 on Billboard and #48 on MB. "I Got The Boy" has been having modest gains in audience on both charts thus far but she's certainly not going amazing (she's lost 60k in audience on MB since Sunday). The song is selling well (#181 on the all-genre chart) and The Highway has been a big supporter of the song so far, but the jammed chart is really causing her to be lower than she probably should be. If this one hits for Jana it's going to be a relatively slow climb for her.

Do you think there's a chance with a huge housecleaning she could be a big beneficiary from it.

Eric (Paslay), Gloriana, Rascal Flatts and Reba are leading candidates to go recurrent soon. Tim's song might not last too much longer either, as "Diamond Rings And Old Bar Stool" is the clear weak link in the top 10.

In the the Jana add in the Country aircheck it says this is the number 5 selling song per spin ratio in the country! That is Amazing!! Im so proud this is connecting with people. This also hit one million in youtube views while love is still under six hundred thousand. Really hoping radio will just jump on board for this and make it a hit cause I am dreaming big for this.

This is selling so well. It's really a shame it hasn't taken off at radio yet, because I think this would be a big hit if could just get going with more airplay.

There's really no excuse for this one to be doing so poorly on the airplay charts. It's selling extremely well considering it's airplay, Jana is on a good label, and she even had a decent sized hit before. Yes she's still a relative newcomer, and yes there's been some big profile releases lately, but there's no reason why this one can't be posting even small gains. It's just been stagnant for the past few weeks, despite it selling almost even with some songs currently in the top 30. I don't have access to the callout scores at the moment, but I can't imagine them being bad enough to hold this one back. This is definitely an instance where I see gender being a factor. I knew this wasn't going to have 2 million gains in audience each week, but for this one to still be stuck in the 40's is absurd. Country radio needs to get it's act together and start playing Jana. There clearly is a market for her, and I think she could become a decent sized star if she was actually given a better opportunity.

I do agree with you that this should be doing better but the chart congestion is partly to blame here. Kacey and Brothers Osborne should be doing better as well, but they have also been stuck in a rut in the 40's. "I Got The Boy" has increased just 240k in audience the past five weeks, with 185k coming so far this week. Its sales are definitely the highlight right now as Jana's song is #34 on the iTunes country chart and #149 on the all-genre chart. Selling better than 20 singles currently ahead of it on the MB chart. This is unfortunately also contributed to this song just not being what radio likes to play these days. When I first heard this song, I agreed with the first page of this thread that this was a good song and IMO, easily the best song I've heard from Jana, but I didn't sense "radio hit" like others were. Radio has catered to the audience who doesn't desire this song, which is unfortunate because there clearly is a major audience for it judging by its sales. The Highway has been a major contributor to "I Got The Boy" as well, which helps with overall sales numbers. I think Warner is in this for the long haul but this climb will be very long if "I Got The Boy" eclipses the top 30.

This is having a great week so far. Her updates have been making me very hopeful on top 40 on MB/aircheck soon. The great updates have probably been helped by the amazing great aircheck ad warner was ballsy enough to put up for radio. Will her team push this harder cause gloriana is falling out?

The great updates have probably been helped by the amazing great aircheck ad warner was ballsy enough to put up for radio. Will her team push this harder cause gloriana is falling out? The ad was nice but that's not the only big ad Warner has put out for "I Got The Boy" as I've seen a few already since Jana's song was released. Now that Gloriana's song is done, that will free up a little availability for Jana's song and the other WAR promoted singles but it's not a huge factor. I expect a new single fairly quickly from them anyway. The WAR promotion team still has quite a few singles charting with Frankie, Chris Janson and Dan + Shay, so there is some priority to get to, along with Jana. This label seems to really be behind her though. "I Got The Boy" has gained 80 spins and 320k in total audience since Sunday, which is just under the total audience gains she had on MB all of last week (+348k). Once again, another powerhouse station (KSCS in Dallas) is helping out here as over 600k of "I Got The Boy's" audience have come from that station. Right now, just assume Tyler, Eric Paslay, Luke's "Games' and Gloriana aren't in the top 40 of the rolling chart (since all of them will be gone come Sunday evening). That would put Jana at #41. Jake's song took its 8th day medicine today, so he's out of Jana's way for now and that means her biggest competition for a top 40 placement is EYB. I'm assuming that Brothers Osborne, Austin Webb and Mo will make it, so that leaves one spot open. Jana's song has been doing better than EYB's this week, so perhaps "I Got The Boy' could leap them. The points gap was pretty big between both songs on the June 1st chart at 447 total points, so there's still work to be done there if your "I Got The Boy." I fully expect 'Real Life" to get back in this portion of the chart sooner rather than later since Jake's song already has more than 60 stations on board before its official add date.
