Holly Willams - The Highway (2013) I somehow missed this album back when it was released in 2013 (thanks to tim for the recommendation!), and it's seriously great stuff. "Gone Away From Me", "Givin' Up", and "Waitin' on June" are easily some of the best songs I've heard in ages.

Bradley Gaskin -Ep
Had this in the player past few days. I'm still sad that he never got a album out and I've had no luck finding a advance copy. He has some real talent and Nashville dropped the ball with this one.

Jerrod Niemann- Jukebox Of Hard Knocks Listening to this it's hard to believe Jerrod used to actually be more "neotraditional" before radio changed him. Shows his true talent on this album here.

James Wesley - Real
Tracks ranked: :)
1) "Jackson Hole" 2) "You Should Be Here With Me" 3) "When A Cowboy Cries" 4) "Didn't I" 5) "Real" 6) "How Much Do You Love Me" 7) "If I Never See Julia Again" 8) "I Don't Wanna Talk About Her" 9) "Shake It Off" 10) "Walking Contradiction" 11) "I Ain't Running Trouble Down" 12) "Wakin' Up The Rooster"
I remember when "Walking Contradiction" was out as a single, I thought it sounded like an album track, even though I enjoyed the song. Bingo. "You Should Be Here With Me" SHOULD have been a single off this album. I can't really argue with the first three released, as I think all are strong songs, but "Walking Contradiction" was just not something meant for radio airplay. I get why they released it; it was uptempo and James was coming off three straight mid-tempo ballads, but just release the best songs, please.
Fantastic album though. Shame it wasn't officially released, other than some of his concerts. "Wakin' Up The Rooster" is the only one I don't particularly care for.

I've owned Timeless since the very day it came out in 2005. It's been awhile since I've listened to it. WHY has this not been issued on vinyl? This album totally has that classic sounds that needs to be accompanied by the drop of the needle. Didn't she say in an interview earlier this year that she wants to do an album like Alison Krauss' Windy City? Wouldn't that be a Timeless Vol. 2? I'm all for it, but she's covered 22 classic country songs on this album, I'd be curious to see what she would pull out for a 'Vol. 2.' And I would MOST definitely take that over a third Christmas album, which she has planned.

And I would MOST definitely take that over a third Christmas album, which she has planned. She said something about how she would love to make a record like Windy City. I don't think she has any plans of doing that for now though. As far as Christmas music is concerned, she pretty much only has one album It's just that the same one has been reissued so many times, adding a couple new songs along the way each time! But anyway, on her last Christmas tour, around the same time as "Please Come Home For Christmas" came out, she added some new more modern uptempo songs to the set. Like "Run Rudolph Run", "All I Want For Christmas Is You", "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", etc. In my opinion the newer stuff added a real flair of energy to the show. So I am hoping that this new Christmas album she is working on finally brings us studio versions of some of those more modern tunes, because the live versions were so good! And imo, although her Christmas stuff has always been wonderful, she could definitely benefit by recording some less traditional Christmas songs. So if this is her chance to do that, then I am definitely looking forward to it! As far as a vinyl of Timeless goes, that is an excellent question! I know she has recently expressed interest in rereleasing her entire catalog on vinyl. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see Timeless on vinyl before too long :) I agree that that would be perfect!

Yay, I didn't know she had plans to reissue her catalog on vinyl. That is great news. Btw, I LOVE your new avatar. Did you make it? Either way, it got me to put the Reckless album on. "That's The Thing About Love," would've made such a great single.

Dan Seals: Greatest HitsStill research related listen. Cannot really fathom that this was/is considered to be country. Really gave this a chance... Don't like it, quite honestly. OT: sabre14 " Bop" is so flop! I'm so sorry! :) For Dan seals I recommend "big wheels in the moonlight, "God must be a cowboy" and "everything that glitters is not gold". I agree the rest is pretty poppy lol I'd also recommend "They Rage On" as its always been one of my favorite Dan Seals songs. It reached #5 in the summer of 1989.
