Gretchen Peters - Blackbirds (2015) I'm embarrassed to say this is the first time I've ever listened to Gretchen Peters (although I'm familiar with several of her songs other artists have recorded, like "Independence Day," "If Heaven", and "The Secret of Life"). I was extremely impressed by this album; the songwriting is top-notch, and she is a much better vocalist than I expected. The opening rocker "Blackbirds" is fantastic and it just keeps on getting better from there; "When All You Got is a Hammer" will probably be one of my favorite songs of 2015, and there isn't a bum track to be found. Highly recommended.

^ Ah when I seen the cover I was going to ask how it compares to her past albums but then I read that this is your first time listening to her. I can't find this in stores so I guess I'll have to order online.

Neal Coty: "Legacy" (2001)Legacy Breathin' Loved "Legacy" from the start; and still like this track. It's so beautiful, lyrically and musically. Unfortunately, it peaked at a very low Billboard #49 & R&R* #47* The second single "Breathin'" which is utterly fantastic and super catchy, bombed altogether; and so did the subsequent releases ("You Got Lucky" & "Right Down The Middle Of Us". The whole album is pretty much solid and worth (more than) a listen. R&R (*) sabre14 Is that correct?

Apparently, Isbell makes an appearance on this album? That makes me want to listen to the album even more now!

Attachment DeletedEvery single song on this album is not only outstanding, but reminiscent of George Strait.

2005 song playlist (last six played): :) Steve Holy - "Go Home" Billy Dean - "Race You To The Bottom" Matt Jenkins - "King Of The Castle" Tracy Lawrence - "Used To The Pain" Trisha Yearwood - "Georgia Rain" Cowboy Troy w/Sarah Buxton - "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" Forgive the different image sizes. Only so much to work with the options I had and I'm far too lazy to make them the same size, lol.

Aaron Watson: "The Road & The Rodeo" (2010) | Luke Bryan: "Spring Break... Checkin' Out" (2015) | | | | |
Aaron Watson's "Walls" is quite fantastic. Very good album; didn't spawn any hit singles, though. Luke's latest and last Spring Break offering is quite pleasant. Good time pop; will not go down in country history. "Games" is my pick.

Favorite tracks:"Three Chord Country And American Rock & Roll" (not the remixed Steven Tyler version, lol) "Podunk" "XXL" "Plan B" "The Clothes Don't Make The Man" "I'll Know When I Get There" The last three really showed that he had some serious talent.
