His scream in the bridge is definitely SNW era screaming which is interesting, yet the instrumentation gives me a distinct KNY vibe. It's just been on repeat all day. As far as recent first singles for Deftones go, I would say I like this better than Leathers but not as much as Rocket Skates (which is very good this is like the best song I've heard in a year)

And HQ is even better. *sniff* I'm so glad to have Deftones back.

This is actually pretty good, coming from someone who has lost all intrest of Deftones post White Pony...getting some Smashing Pumpkins/Björk vibes

Hmm..Not bad at all. I rememeber liking "Epilogue" quite a bit. That's still kind a fresh in my memory banks, so this song sounded pretty melodic especially that little beat in the verses. I'm a bit "defensive" about the midbreak and towards the end. That part kinda strays away from my style, but the rest sounds pretty promising.

I've heard better Deftones songs, but this is still very good. I think I'm just damn happy to hear new stuff from them again.

Top 5 on Active, possibly #1 assuming they don't get cock blocked by Alice In Chains again. Top 30 on Alt considering how mean they've been to their staples lately.

I'm a pretty big deftones fan so I really hope this song does something, but it looks like it will. I'm so happy that tempest was the smash that it was though I really wish it had hit #1. I don't like this as much personally, but it's still a good song. It sounds like one of their earlier songs to me, which while that isn't a bad thing, Koi No Yokan is by far my favorite album by them, partly because of the amazing mixing on it (Diamond Eyes had good mixing too but I don't like that as much) -- this song has the same fairly muddy mixing on it (especially in the chorus) that a lot of their earlier songs do. I've grown to not really mind it, but I thought their latest albums were a step in the right direction regarding that.

It bothers me how slow this is moving up How? Tempest was #24 at this point, this is now #23, and should go top 20 for this week's update (it'll pass Parkway Drive and The Struts, and Disturbed, Seether and Five Finger Death Punch would be sent recurrent). It's moving at a similar pace to Tempest now. If it doesn't match the 9 weeks Tempest took to go top 10, then we'll worry.

Oh I don't follow daily updates only weekly ones so to me it seemed like a low debut and then the second week at where Tempest debuted

Another great song. Although it's not quite as epic as "Tempest" or "Diamond Eyes", it's growing on me very fast.
The screaming towards the end was slightly off-putting, though.

New song is pretty good...sounds like it could be off the first half of diamond eyes. Neither really grabs my attention as much as I was hoping they would, but they're both good songs and plus Tempest didn't the first time I heard it either -- now it's easily one of my favorite Deftones songs.
