Would've loved if it had been "Love Triangle," but this sounds like another good choice. I'm really looking forward to the studio audio for this song!

Sorry, but after the subservient lyrics of "God Made Girls" idk if I want to know what Raelynn would do "for a boy". Then again it could be something along the lines of "I did so much all for a boy and he didn't love me" type of thing. Either way her voice just irritates the you know what out of me.

I don't find this one much better at all. Again, she's playing up 50s gender stereotypes: ("for a boy, you're good at saying sorry"; "for a girl, I'm pretty cool calm and collected"). No thanks.

From Country Aircheck Today (02/26): » Rae Win: Valory's RaeLynn gets Gold certification for "God Made Girls" with (l-r) the Grand Ole Opry's Pete Fisher, Big Machine Label Group's Scott Borchetta, Valory's George Briner and BMLG's Jimmy Harnen.

Great accomplishment for a single that struggled to make the Top 20. Hopefully radio gets more on board with "For a Boy."

She's done it again! Incredible song. I definitely love this and think it's a very good follow-up to "God Made Girls." Her vocals sound great on this (I especially love the way her voice kind of cracks on the "do" near the end of the song) and I love the production. Hope this can at least be another Top 20 for her.

Side note: She also has a new song that was recently added to her Spotify catalog called Always Sing. It's very radio friendly. Kind of strange that a random non single would be uploaded though.

I'm not sure if I see myself becoming a big fan of RaeLynn, mostly because of her voice - and I really, really didn't like "God Made Girls" - but she sounds good on "For A Boy", and I actually really like the lyrics of this one as well. The production is just a tad too loud but otherwise it's pretty great; I love the banjo laced throughout this one.
Plus, that single cover...could she get any cuter?

RaeLynn will be performing "God Made Girls" on NBC's Today on Monday, March 9th. "For A Boy" will be available on iTunes the same day (March 9th). Source

This is so good, wow. I am stunned that Raelynn came out two-for-two with me...production is modern but fits the song, the lyrics fit her age, and she controls the twang. Nicely done BMLG. Starting strong with her.

Wow, I heard this one on the radio today already. I'm back home visiting family this week, and I was in a store just a little bit ago and they were playing Chase Bryant's "Take It On Back" and then this one came on. I was pretty surprised to be hearing it already.

This is pretty good. "God Made Girls" didn't really move me either way: I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I can see this one being her first top 10 hit, and I think the song is certainly worthy of that feat. I will be curious to see if her sales are strong again with this single.

This is already up to #78 on the iTunes all-genre chart, one space below A Thousand Horses' "Smoke." I know RaeLynn has some name recognition which partially contributed to this strong iTunes start, but I'm expecting this to be a pretty big hit, possibly her first Top 10 single.

That's certainly a pretty good start, but sales are always pretty front-loaded when a song is brand new on iTunes (and this was just put on iTunes today). I do think this has a chance at going top 10, but then again, she's a woman, and this is country radio in 2015...I can't tell you how many times in the last few years that I thought a new female artist would break out, only to watch their 2nd and subsequent singles flounder on the charts. And while I do like "For A Boy", I don't think that RaeLynn has the potential that several other new female artists have.

She's currently the #1 search on iTunes. I'm rooting for her.

I have a good feeling about this one.
They toned down the whiny-ness of her voice and wrapped a solid song around it. I'll be cautiously optimistic and say peak at 10.

Debuts at #3 on the digital songs chart with 27,000 sold. Congratulations, RaeLynn! Debuts at #32 on the mongrel chart.

Debuts at #3 on the digital songs chart with 27,000 sold. Congratulations, RaeLynn! That's a pretty solid first week sales total considering she's only a) had one single so far, and b) this one hasn't really gotten any airplay yet. I think it shows that RaeLynn's been able to develop a pretty good core fan-base, so it'll be interesting to see if it can 'expand' through the life of this single. This one goes for adds on Monday, and since I find myself actually enjoying it (which I couldn't say for "God Made Girls"), I am hoping (and predicting) that it will get 35-40 adds minimum. She might even be able to compete with Jason and Lady A for most-added, especially since Jason's team didn't announce the adds date until a couple of days ago. I also expect Cam to do pretty well with adds.

I didn't really like GMG very much, but I really like this one. The melody and production are excellent here, and the lyrics aren't terrible. I'm going to predict that this is her first top 10 hit and it goes at least gold.

So I just listened to this for the first time and I really really like this one. I enjoyed "God Made Girls" quite a bit, but I think I prefer this one. Again, I think her voice is not annoying (like it was on "Boyfriend") and the song here is great. I'll be rooting for this one to do at least as well as GMG, hopefully better. I'd like to hear a full album from her soon though so hopefully this one won't move painfully slowly.

I Hope she won't get lost in the shuffle considering radio doesn't usually play more than 3 females at a time with resistance for at least one of them. I wish all the girls can hold their own on the chart coming through April and May and hopefully through the whole year!!

This got 31 new reporters on the Mediabase panel this week, while Lady A's "Long Stretch of Love" (which I don't think will be a big hit) got 32. A RaeLynn song receiving one fewer add than a Lady Antebellum song is in my opinion both good for RaeLynn and a bad sign for Lady A. I actually think this will be a big radio hit, and could potentially go to #1.
In my opinion things are really looking up for females on the charts right now. Carrie Underwood's song is looking like a strong #1 contender at this point, Kelsea Ballerini's is pretty much a lock for top 10 and quite possibly a future #1, and two newcomers RaeLynn and Jana Kramer have songs that are already doing really well on iTunes and shaping up to be big hits. Then there's also a Kacey Musgraves song that is making quite a splash even though I doubt it'll be a top 15 airplay peak, plus new artist Cam might get a solid start at radio with her debut single "My Mistake." Of these songs, I expect "Little Toy Guns" will be the first to break the drought of solo females topping Billboard's airplay chart, then I think Kelsea Ballerini and Jana Kramer will get their first #1's with "Love Me Like You Mean It" and "I Got the Boy" and this RaeLynn record will peak somewhere very close to #1.
