Surprised that something this heavy is being sent to Alternative. Not that I'm complaining one bit.

I'm taking a guess they listened to alot of Nirvana? I like it though. Heavy Alt vibe with female vocals.

Definitely a heavy 90's influence, reminds me of Elastica a bit. The more I listen to it the more I love it.

This reminds me of The Pack AD. It's the kind of garage rock I can get behind (sorry "Heavy Bells").

Really cool song, I can't imagine very many if any of the regulars on this forum disliking this song...which naturally means that Lordef†ones is gonna hate it (just kidding ) This needs to go to Active too...it's way better than any female-fronted song in the Active top 50 right now and it would fit.

Wow, surprised this made Top 50 so fast, hope more songs like this and Little Monster can continue to do well. I've heard this a handful of times on my local Alt station but didn't think it would have this much support this quickly.

I dig this. Has a good early 90s feel to it. Kinda see it performing in line with "Kathleen", "Desire" and "Trainwreck" though.

Now, it's time for songs with 90s influences like this song to takeover. Now, that to me would be absolutely awesome!

ok, I wasn't expecting to like this but I kinda do...I usually steer clear of the heavier sounding songs but this year I've really liked Royal Blood & DFA 1979 (and of course Muse)...it's nice that we are finally getting past the whole pseudo-goth crap like Paramore & Evanescence and moving into a more authentic era for hard rocking females.

Jeez dude, you're missing out on some great music. As for this song, I like the garage rock influences, but I wish the vocals were more grittier. It sounds like the singer from Metric singing over, well, heavy garage rock.

I sorta agree with shadowscorp. At times her voxals sound pretty "indie Pop" I think for a song like this, she should sound a bit more raspier. At the same time; I can view this song like a female counterpart to bands like Royal Blood ect... I hope it does well, so we can enjoy more female fronted rock on the charts. Yes! I said more Female fronted Rock.

Another great cut off "My Love Is Cool" album.
this one has a bit of 70s Led Zeppelin vibe. They also really good on some live vids on youtube.

Took a while, but I'm really digging this now. At least with "Moaning Lisa Smile", I'm definitely feeling some early-to-mid 90's vibes, almost like if Hole and Lush had a baby.

Yes, I love this actually. All you people complaining about sexism on Alt, this is the type of female fronted song that should become a hit.

This reminds me of The Pack AD. It's the kind of garage rock I can get behind (sorry "Heavy Bells"). I wish I noticed this post a month ago, if only for the shot at J. Roddy Good ol' "The Business" by J. Roddy Rolston & The Heavy Bells To this day, I still only hear the chorus as: "THE HEAVY BELLLLLS, THE HEAVY BELLLLSSS, THE HEAVY BELLSSS ARE HEAVY HEAVY BELLLLSSS THE HEAVY BELLLLLS, THE HEAVY BELLLLSSS, THE HEAVY BELLSSS ARE HEAVY HEAVY BELLLLSSS"

Are you trying to tell me that's NOT the chorus? According to whoever was a big enough fan to actually decipher the lyrics, J Roddy Rolston yells something else besides "THE HEAVY BELLLSSS" amongst that mess.

So reading this topic made me think this is definitely a song that I could get into, and Phanarchist mentioned Elastica, and it wouldn't be an Elastica song if they weren't somehow ripping off the band Wire. So I at least wanted to try and figure out which Wire song this was going to sound like. Well, I couldn't figure out any of that. But I do believe that the riffs to this song, especially the opening ones, sound impossibly similar to those in a song off the Gorillaz debut album called "5/4".
And I think that's super cool, because: Wolf Alice does not seem to sound anything like Gorillaz at all, and B), who even knows that song to begin with. Definitely not anyone who doesn't own the record.
Man, I love this song though.

Ditto re. the Elastica comparison, which was the first thing that came to mind when I heard this. Good song!

Good call on the Gorillaz reference! i coulda swore the riff in this sounded familiar but just couldn't figure out what it reminded me of. I think this has to be it.

Straight outta 'da 90's. Loving the "Belly" / "Breeders" influence here. Seriously, she sounds just like Tanya Donelly.
