Pretty sure the picture in that tweet is from a while back.

If she does put out an album, I could really see her going the 'surprise' album route. I doubt we'd see the typical first single, then three months later an album strategy be used here.

I think she would benefit from a more traditional-ish campaign. She's been gone for a very long time, and I don't know if a country fan base would embrace the Beyonce approach as much. People are going to want to see what she brings to the table single wise etc, and she would be wise to build up some hype prior to release.

I could see her going the surprise route with the lead single but not with the album itself. I still say we probably won't get a new single April. But, I'd expect a proper album rollout. Granted, I wouldn't mind the surprise album rollout because I am one of the die hard fans, but the rest of the world needs a smooth re-introduction.

I still think a traditional Xmas album during this huge hiatus would've been a smart call prior to ST5. I'm not even sure what audience she'll be able to reach with a traditional rollout, so I'd go with surprise release. Do we really think country radio will play her music? If she does release a single and it's rejected by radio, that will make pushing a new album that much harder. The good thing is that Shania still has a positive image and she is very likeable. It's hard to believe COO dropped 20 years ago.

It's hard to believe COO dropped 20 years ago. That's why I was wondering if she might try the surprise album route. Radio rejection (like "Today Is Your Day") could really hurt a new album. A surprise release, followed by a single push of the most popular track, might be the way to go. I see the argument for both sides though.

How long since her last album? It will be 15 years in November of this year since Up! was released in 2002.

How long since her last album? Up! was released on November 18, 2002 so May 2017 will be 14.5 years!

It's so odd her talking about the changes in her vocid as if it's a new revelation. I mean she started Vegas 5 years ago and then had that tour.
I not sure a non-hook aka 'organic' ST album will resonate. Good thing for streaming. I'll at least give it a few listens. Glad she's inspired and wants to work on another album immediately.

Im so worried about the vocal change. I did not like her voice on Todays The Day, I Aint No Quitter, or Dont. She has been one of my all-time favourites, so it's disappointing when their voices changes, I can only imagine what they feel.

That was a great interview and I'm really hoping for the best. But I just worry that the album will lack commercial appeal and could even flop. I really hope she has a very strong lead single.

I don't see it flopping, but it won't have huge commercial success either. As a lifelong fan of Shania, at this point I don't care about the success of it. I just want it to be good. If it's good, I'l be happy, because Shania has already etched her name in history. She has nothing left to prove.

Single in "March." One week left. LOL I'll 'forgive' the March fake news if she it happens at ACM. Debuting it on stage is a great strategy - it will remind the public why she was so successful.

I'm over the wait. Wake me up when it drops. Until then I'm considering it shelved.

I'm surprised someone on her team didn't shut down the rumors about her performing. At least one of them must've seen the rumors floating around.
