I actually had an April Fool's Day post prepared if this song actually got successfully pushed to #1 after all, but now I can't use it. How "unfortunate".

Note to self: Search for a gif in the style of the above meme. (I prefer gifs to memes when applicable.) I agree that this song will probably drop fairly quickly, but I don't think it'll be super fast. Why? Well, this song has been in high rotation for many weeks now, and those songs sometimes don't fall as fast as you'd think. "Little Bit Of You" might have racked up a lot of weeks on the chart, but it's testing well and it doesn't have a crazy high fatigue score or anything like that, either. I do think radio was ready to drop this one several weeks ago, so it definitely could go from #5 straight to recurrent status, but I think its rate of decline will be moderate at best. I don't foresee this collapsing the way that "Dibs" did, and I actually think that its first drop week won't be as steep as the first drop week was for "Beautiful Drug" (ZBB lost 11.8 million on Billboard last week). I'm thinking Chase will lose somewhere from 10-11 million. I guess we'll have to just wait and see. Question about CCUSA-boosted weekends. If a song sees an average- or even smaller-sized gain on a weekend where its artist co-hosts, should that be taken as a sign of an imminent plunge in the days to follow? Somehow I can't help but think that a weekend boost here is the only reason this even gained for the Sunday update at all (23 spins and 269K at that) - thus, it would've lost otherwise, and therefore the bleeding will really set in over the week to come.

I can't help but laugh at some of the post. There seems to be mass confusion about what matters to radio. First, just so I relieve any question or concern, Yes, I am a family member of Chases. That being said I spent 25 years in the music industry as did my father spend much of his young life doing the same, with Roy Orbison, Waylon and Buddy Holly. That surely doesn't make me an expert. But I believe I have a decent handle on what radio cares about. First and foremost they really don't care about sales, as one of you folks posted earlier. Radio has no investment in your record. They don't care if you recoup. As long as you are testing well and your label is actively promoting the single radio will keep playing it. Have you ever stopped to think about where the fly away to see this artist or that artist comes from...or even where the win it before you can buy it stuff does? Those contest help drive "the book" (how much of your market you are capturing) which in turn determines just how much you can charge for commercials. That is just the tip of the iceberg as to what drives radio. As far as why record companies push singles, when you think the song is over, may well be related to the type of contract you have. While I certainly know you are not going to please everyone and music is subjective as to who you please or if you even please, so some of what is on here I let roll off my back. It doesn't effect what I am having for dinner , or for that matter what you are eating either. I will say this. I have been told the label is not dropping this single this week . In fact they are going to pickup the promotion on it. ( Sorry about that Raylatch) May not have the wheels. but I guess time will tell.

In fact they are going to pickup the promotion on it. ( Sorry about that Raylatch) May not have the wheels. but I guess time will tell. Breaking this paragraph up would help read better for the viewer. Just a helpful hint. Nobody here is confused about what radio cares about -- we know the testing is hugely important -- there's just matter of some thinking that not as much weight should be put on that testing. People mention sales time and time again because of the embarrassingly low number for "Little Bit Of You." Radio doesn't have to pay attention to it, just matter of "opinion" in thinking they should. I agree testing matters more in programmers eyes (as evidence by the fact Chase's ridiculously old song is still chugging away over a calendar year after its release) but sales are not "completely ignored" as evidence by the constant 'sales to spin' moniker labels often enjoy putting up in their regular ads in Country Aircheck and Billboard. As for radio not having investment in a record, I agree mostly. However, if radio would decide to spin a song that is massively polarizing with its listeners and testing horribly, then that would obviously be a bad investment. There's always some level of "investment" when you spin a record. Radio would need to ignore a record (not adding it) to fully have "no investment." If the discussion here rolled off your back you wouldn't have created an account and posted. Most here know what drives radio -- money. Again, it's not as if everyone here is somehow against Chase and this song, so don't misconstrue matter of opinionated discussion as "having it out for Chase." If this was any artist or any song, the discussion of this song's low sales and old age would still commence. It's a discussion board -- nobody here pretends to be a label executive or the CEO of a radio conglomerate. Anyway, the "wheels" are on..."Little Bit Of You" gained 185 spins and over 800k in audience today.

Sabre, I don't think anyone is truly against Chase, and If that's how that came across I do apologize. As you said it is a discussion, and people have likes and dislikes. No big deal. If you are in the music industry you have to be thick skinned, because you are always open to criticism. That's why it is not a one size fits all business. I did know the label hasn't pulled the plug and probably will not for at least a couple of weeks or so, depending on what drops , what moves and who is on deck. Just sharing the info-

Just sharing the info- Hey, since you are a member of Chase's family, maybe you can answer a question we have all been wondering about... Do you have any idea if the label is planning to release a debut album for Chase anytime soon? Or are they hoping to get him a 3rd hit single first? Of course you don't have to tell us if such info is confidential, but we have all just been really curious about what is going on behind-the-scenes there. It's just really weird for a new artist to have two top-10 singles and still no album in sight!

Since he released the EP almost 2 years ago alot has changed for him from a sound perspective. He has said in a few of his interviews he has matured some as a writer and artist. He has been cutting some new stuff over the last few weeks and the plan is early fall, late summer. They still are pretty heavy on Change your name, but he has some stuff that is a little edgier that would make for great choices as well. Next single is truly up in the air at this moment, but the support he has seen at radio and label is not weakening in the least

"Little Bit Of You" will peak in April. There is no way a third song will have enough AirPlay to get that album out since it'll be like what 16-24 weeks for Chase Bryant, and given how slow his chart climbs have been I doubt they release the album. Regardless of what the third single is its going to take a long time, that's for sure. I also imagine radio as a whole is ready to drop this song and since they won't even get an album out of this, I imagine they are pretty ticked off about the whole thing (I know I'd be). Also I do think this very long chart run has overall hurt the label, they've probably been giving a lot of money to this song and since their hasn't been good sales at all (I think Chase Bryant is now in the 80s on iTunes Country ). They're has been so much money put into this song for radio and what does radio get in exchange, absolutely nothing. I would have let go of this song in December maybe January.

^ I've just got to ask since it has come up several times recently, particularly on this thread, what exactly does radio get out of an album? Radio is only going to play released singles (typically), so what do they care whether or not an album is released?

Radio is only going to play released singles (typically), so what do they care whether or not an album is released? I think they like to know that they are supporting an artist for a reason. Every artist wants to release an album, and Lord knows that there are way more artists attempting to make it big than there are spaces on the airplay charts. Radio knows that most artists and their labels can't afford to release an album unless one of their singles hits big enough (usually top 20 or better). That's just the way the sales market is. I don't think radio will be against Chase in the future or anything like that, but this song isn't really doing anything for his momentum, and since he's still a new artist (most of the public doesn't know who he is), there's no guarantee that his next single will get him back to the top 10. And so it's a bit unfortunate (for lack of a better word) that radio has helped Chase to two top 10 singles and he hasn't released an album yet, when most other new artists would do anything just to crack the top 30 and boost their hopes of eventually being able to release their very first album. The problem is simply that radio cannot support them all.

Thank you, that's a good explanation. So there's really no direct financial benefit, other than potential increased listening draw as an artist furthers his or her career.
Still for the label, it comes down to economics. They are not going to spend the money to record and produce an album that they don't have at least some potential to sell. For some reason, chase's label must not have reached that point. I'm sure poor single sales factor into that.
Don't get me wrong, record companies put out albums all the time that don't sell. I'm sure they all vary with how they treat artist development, and I'm sure labels even very with how they treat different artists, according to what they are trying to do with an artist career.
There does seem to be a bit of a disconnect in this case between how hard chase's label is willing to push his singles versus not being willing to put out an album. Do you believe in the guy or not?

The problem is simply that radio cannot support them all. This by far is the most accurate statement I have read so far. They don't really get anything out of an album one way or the other as long as it test well and keeps people from flipping stations. And I agree they totally want to spin artist that are not going to just take up airspace and then have the single dropped by the label 10 weeks in. That being said you can clearly see that Chase has label support and they(record label) believe they have reason to continue to push his single. Sales determine alot of things that go on at the label, but not so much at radio. If at some point the label believes they have no reason to continue the push, you can bank on them to pull budget. Not just on the single they are working, but on those they are also recording.

Well he will have the disadvantage of losing CCUSA extra spins. I'm hoping Cole Swindell or Rascal Flatts block this from the top. Which I'm still not sure when Rascal Flatts will peak, it's a three song battle for the top and I'm so excited to see how it turns out.

Good, that means this week will be it for "Little Bit Of You." It has exactly 0.0% chance of reaching #1 on either chart too, lol.

Unless Red Bow plans a second week of a #1 push, "Little Bit Of You" will peak at #3 on Mediabase. Chase's song has far too much to make up by tomorrow on Rascal Flatts, let alone Cole Swindell.
This one's gained 800 spins and 4.5 million in audience this week, with one day left to go for Mediabase's chart tracking week.

I'm glad this is finally done too, even though I loved it. Man, I really wish they would've put out his album though. This seems like such a missed opportunity to push this as high as they did and then not release one.

It's obvious Red Bow has reason to believe radio programmers will support his third single like they did the first two but the thing is, what happens if that song ends up selling just as bad as the first two but has less ideal research when it's huffing and puffing its way through the 30's? That's why this label was stuck between a rock and a hard place with Chase Bryant -- I understand the thinking of not wanting to release a full-length album when you pretty much know the return (little) you will get in sales, and I agree with that assessment (although, if you believe that, I disagree with the thinking of pushing this much money into a 50 week chart climb, knowing the album isn't coming anytime soon).
However, pushing a single for over a year, into the top 3, and not releasing a full-length album is a special kind of amazement, especially since this was the "second" top 10 single. I do not care how great the research for this one was or how much radio is infatuated with this artist at the moment, nothing is guaranteed single-to-single, this early in a career and I'm hopeful this doesn't end up biting Red Bow/BBMG in the butt later down the road.
I echo the relief-laced sentiment that this one is done. It should be interesting how this plays out from here in regards to Chase's next single(s).
