I can't believe as many have Come Home Soon in their bottom. Vocally, I think it's easily one of their best songs.

Unlike their other ballads, it just didn't seem to have anything to make it stand out. Wow, when Kelsi comes in on high harmony in the first chorus, it's goose bump time for me every time, not to mention the harmony and counter-melody in the third verse after the beat is established. The instrumentation is exceptional, too, as the synthesizer and guitar have some wonderful moments sounding almost like bells, not to mention the actual glockenspiel. Maybe I'm biased after seeing so many soldier families with tears in their eyes as this song is delivered in concert, but I never tire of hearing this song.

Oh my dear God, one of my favorite artists BY FAR!!!
Top (I'll TRY to limit myself for the top singles and album cuts..... I'll TRY.) 1. In Terms Of Love - I thought it was a brilliant song, lyrically, instrumentally, and vocally. 2. Don't Worry Bout A Thing - Love all the metaphors. 3. Little Goodbyes - Another lyrically brilliant song and a GREAT debut song. 4. I'm Taking The Wheel - Again, love the instruments and arrangement of this tune. 5. Still Holding Out For You - This should be #1 actually, for the same reasons as I love "In Terms Of Love". 6. Come Home Soon - I really thought the lyrics were touching and her voice was flawless.
Bottom: Uh.... pass.
Album cuts: 1. I Wish I Were The Rain 2. Without A Sound 3. A Night To Remember 4. Punishment 5. Good Together 6. A Woman's Work 7.-10. Pick any other 3 songs from the "Knock On The Sky" album. I swear, it's pure perfection, beginning to end.... and I do mean the END (there's a hidden track at the end of the last song for anyone who didn't know, FYI).
I have to mention that in ANY of their songs that I like, it is also because of their harmonies, which they are more than perfect at.
You know, come to think of it, I'm afraid to hear new music from the girls. But you know what, they have got better and better with each release, IMO. But DANG, it's gonna be hard for them to top any of their previous music.

Maybe I'm biased after seeing so many soldier families with tears in their eyes as this song is delivered in concert, but I never tire of hearing this song. There's a glockenspiel in that song? Wow. I didn't know. That must be a first. Seriously, though, maybe it's because there's nothing I can identify with in the song. I've never had to wait for someone I've loved that way. Heck, I didn't even know that the male character was a soldier until about the 500th listen. (Strangely, as I mentioned before, this is the same station that literally ignored every other SHeDAISY ballad.) Maybe it's because I don't actually know any soldiers, but it takes a really good soldier song to affect me -- something like the evocative lyrics of "Travelin' Soldier" or the unique storyline of "Riding with Private Malone". Lyrically, "Come Home Soon" just seems too broad-stroke to have an impact on me, even if it's as sonically distinctive as any other SHeDAISY song.

I didn't make the soldier connection either at first, as I thought the song was only about a missing lover... "But sometimes love needs a fighting chance" "So I'll wait my turn until it's our turn to dance" But Kristyn always speaks of the song as inspired by a friend's soldier story. Bottom: I really don't like the SRH bonus track "With You I Feel", but other than that, even their worst is better than most artists' best.
Top Album Tracks: 1. I Wish I Were The Rain (their best effort by far) 2. A Woman's Work 3. Keep Me 4. Good Together (Bucket & Chicken) 5. Man Goin' Down 6. Burn Down The House 7. 5432 Run 8. Out of My Mind 9. What Do I Do Now? 10. Punishment 11. I'm Lit 12. All Over You 13. She Gets What I Deserve 14. 23 Days 15. Love Goes On and the list goes on and on and on and on

(This was an extremely difficult list to narrow down. After 4 albums, I believe the girls have one of the strongest catalog of songs on Music Row)
Bottom 3
01. God Bless The American Housewife 02. She Gets What She Deserves 03. Jingle Bells (didn't really care for the arrangement)

My favorite country artist when I was growing up. I've heard many of his songs on the radio when they came out the first time.
VERY FAVORITES: 1 Still Losing You (this songs gives me chills, haunting in some ways) 2 It Was Almost LIke A Song (best vocals of all his songs, great piano!) 3 Only One Love in My Life 4 My Heart (the whole album is A+ "Milsap Magic") 5 Pure Love (I remember this was the first of his songs I remember on the radio in 1974). 6 Why Don't You Spend the NIght 7 Smoky Mountain Rain 8 Any Day Now (always like Ronnie's verson the best) 9 In No Time At All (sounds somewhat like It Was Almost...especially for the piano). 10 Nobody Likes Sad Songs (Hit from the 'Images' LP '79) 11 I'd Be A Legend In My Time 12 Stranger In My House (ever seen the video, very cutting edge for 1983). 13 Make No Mistake, She's MIne (w.Kenny Rogers), Other than Kenny and Mike Reid, Ronnie should have had a female duet partner, maybe.....Terri Gibbs) 14 Snap Your Fingers (great version of this song) 15 Buton Off My Shirt 16 True Believer (this song should have done better on the charts, but it was when he left RCA). 17 Stranger Things Have Happened 18 There's Not Getting Over Me 19 Am I Losing You (a hard to find LP honoring Jim Reeves: "Out Where The Bright Lights Are Glowing" I still have the LP and wore it out back in '81. I'm sure you can find it on ebay). 20 He's Got You
LEAST FAVORITE 1 .Let's Take The Long Way Around The World 2 Happy, Happy Birthday Baby 3 Cowboys And Clowns 4 What Goes On WHen The Sun Goes Down 5 Daydreams About Night Things
P.S. I don't mind the Lo-lo-lo in Local Girls, Just to see Ronnie back on the chart in '06 was a treat for me! He's still got it!

Can we do one for Carrie??? She's barely even 10 singles into her career. I try to pick artists that have had at least 20 singles (or in cases like SHeDAISY, artists who are at least close enough) so that the lists aren't too narrow.

JOHNNY CASH TOP 1. The Ballad of Ira Hayes 2. Highwayman (The Highwaymen songs count, right?) 3. Jackson 4. One Piece at a Time 5. (Ghost) Riders in the Sky (but why was "Ghost" in parentheses?) 6. Ring of Fire 7. The One on the Right Is On the Left 8. Oney 9. Ragged Old Flag 10. I Walk the Line 11. Give My Love to Rose 12. Chicken in Black (great spoof of Ray Stevens' style) 13. BOTTOM 1. Flesh and Blood (the stilted language just didn't seem to fit his style) 2. A Boy Named Sue (Silverstein's great but this song's just over rated)

Phil is one of my favorite artists, easily. And I agree, his album cuts are MUCH better than his singles.
Top: 1. I'll Take That As A Yes 2. In A Real Love 3. Good Ole Days 4. Carlene 5. Last Day Of My Life 6. Love Is A Beautiful Thing 7. Just Another Day In Paradise
Bottom: 1. This Is God 2. This Is My Life
Album Cuts: 1. Amazing Grace 2. Dancin With Dreams 3. I'm Already Gone 4. I Thought I Never Would Forget 5. Here To Forget 6. What Happens In Vegas 7. Blacks And Whites 8. Like I Never Loved Before 9. Someone You Love 10. Erase 11. Forgettin's So Long 12. Gone By Dawn
Notice that I listed just about every song from "Shaken Not Stirred". Also notice how I only listed one song from his latest album.
