Looks like "Ghost Town" is going to get a nice radio promo tomorrow --- Ryan Seacrest said on his syndicated show today it was going to be played on AT40 on Saturday. :) He didn't say played that I'm aware of. He said Adam would be on the show and the song was great. The AT40 "Ghost Town" promo was excellent. Ryan used a large part of his Adam interview, played over half the song and said it will be a hit. This is hot! Performance was nice too, I actually enjoyed his dancing. im loving this song now. His performance on Ellen hooked me. He reminds me of a young looking Elvis and his dancing gave me some serious Janet Jackson moves. |

Checked out the American Top 40 playlist on Pulse and and apparently they did not play enough Ghost Town to count, so this week he did not get any spins from them. (I think this is pretty typical for a brand new song.) At least they played part of the song and said good things about it!!!

The video looks cheap and brings absolutely no new value or face to the song. I still enjoy the song, but that video is useless.

My thoughts on the Ellen performance - Great visual (white look, band with big hats, fog). I can tell you a LOT of thought has gone into how to present Adam to America this time around. The dancing - all I have to say is he is no Prince who I have seen live. And I don't really remember how George Michael's initial performances were. I mention these two because they came to mind first to me as being the closest I *think* to what Adam is trying to pull off. Going sexy but not too over the top.... Showing some individuality without over doing it especially on daytime TV. I think it might work this time around. I don't find Adam sexy (but I don't think Adam Levine is either - maybe it's the name Adam LOL!) but I think many girls/women will. I can't speak for the other gender. :)
I think he is off to a good start this era (except for the initial digital song performance).

The concern is despite good spins both the single and album have drifted down to 150 and 250 on iTunes. I know there's a long way to release but I would have expected them to hold in this initial buzz period...
Anyone know when the next TV promo is?

Ghost Town finished this week at #51 in CHR with 655 spins and 431 bullet according to the Mediabase PDF. So close and yet so far.. He's having a little bad luck with the panel as the song is #47 on the all stations panel . Such is life. The song will break into monitored top 50 soon enough |

Well, and right now you need a good amount of spins to be in the top 50, there were other times that you can get there with half the spins. But if the good updates continue it's only a question of time

Ghost Town is already starting better at radio then any of Adam's previous singles. Hope today is another great adds day.

It's probably his best start ever or on pair with Whataya want from me (i think that song entered the chart fast too). I remember If i had you struggling a lot around 50.
It's very positive because i think airplay could make the difference this era

It took WWFM 3 weeks to hit top 50 in Pop and HAC. 1st week spins were almost entirely Z100 and KIIS-FM. It went from 50 to 40 nine days later. |
