I hope you're right because I keep looking at this every day expecting the bold to be removed from Consider Me Gone for Projected Billboard gain but it's still there. This is some excitin' stuff for an ole Reba fan!

Since the Mediabase chart has been going crazy this week, I'll wait to post the next update until the Billboard Country Update comes out Monday night.

Thanks to juliobrasil for posting a username/password for Mediabase access in the General Music News forum. The username is UCLA and the password is class. You can log-in here. There's a ton of information available, including a real time Mediabase chart. Christmas has come early this year!

1) Can someone please tell me why Cowboy Cassanova is going recurrent this week when it is in its 13th week and despite the huge audience decrease it still ranks in the Top 10 at #8 using the projections rowdawg21 put up this morning in his update? I was under the impression the song needed to be on the charts for 20 weeks or more (she is 13 weeks), Audience rank out of the Top10 (does not she ranks #8), and have 3 consecutive bulletless weeks (this she meets #1 to #2; #2 to #3; #3 to #4; #4 to #8) But don't the other two prerequsites need to be met (the #of weeks being 20+ and the Audience Rank outside the Top 10?)

I believe the number of weeks doesn't matter if the song has had 3 straight bulletless weeks and is out of the top ten in spins or audience...

It was probably a close race this week between Carrie and Jason Aldean for #10 in spins. I'm guessing Carrie got edged out. If she didn't, then she'll be go recurrent next week instead.

I'm not sure I completely understand your paragraph but the answer to the question you're asking is "no." Songs below #10 in spins or audience can be removed on their first bulletless week (if they're in week 21 or later) or on their third bulletless week (for any song, no matter how many weeks they have charted). Billboard has the option of leaving a song on despite the song meeting the criteria for removal, and they frequently do that for a song with a small loss (just happened with Martina's song; might happen this coming week with Trace's song). By rule, they have no option for a second consecutive week of meeting the criteria for removal.

When was the last time a song lost over 10 million like Taylor did last week?

I am so curious as to how the chart will rebound next week without the Christmas songs taking spins and audience way from almost everyone. Who will have the top spot? or the top 5 all together?

It would be better to wait and see what the Billboard chart looks like when we see it on Wednesday. Even without that, you can see that on MB Reba lost 2 million more than Dierks did during the holiday week. He'll still be about 5 mill behind on the 1/9 Billboard (I think)-- so if Reba starts losing 600k or 700k relative to Dierks in the new chart week, maybe she won't be able to hold #1. If she loses 300k most days relative to Dierks, he won't be able to catch her. As for the top 5 -- we'll still be looking at Reba, Dierks, Lady A, Timmy, and whoever wins the Lambert-Aldean battle for #5. (I didn't factor in Luke Bryan and I'm too lazy to go back and reconsider.)

(I didn't factor in Luke Bryan and I'm too lazy to go back and reconsider.) I believe Luke is done and will go recurrent next week as will Craig and David and the Christmas songs from Rodney and Darius and Phil Vassar's Everywhere I Go so there's at least 6 songs that will debut or re-enter in the Top 40 next week. I think that it'll be a fight between Tim or Dierks for #1 after Reba finishes her run at #1 and looking more like Tim may win over Dierks. Next #1 ones after Tim or Dierks are between Miranda, Jason, Darius or Josh or perhaps Brad if American Saturday Night comes back strong. Another surprise might come if Lady A comes back to #1 again with Need You Now judging on how much a difference between #1 and #2 (about 1.9 million)

^ it amazes me that "Need You Now" is still that close to #1, considering the "free fall" era that we've in...

If she loses 300k most days relative to Dierks, he won't be able to catch her. Well if mediabase is any indication, it just got a littler tougher for Dierks. Reba actually gained audience on him on Monday. That was a surprise. So now he has one less day with a bit more audience to recover. One more day like today and I'll be feeling pretty confident about Reba's first ever 3 week number one.

I can't believe it but according to rowdawg21's update today with the charts beginning to rebound from Christmas there is a good chance that Reba may get her 1st 3 week #1!!
Correct me if I wrong but the only threat I see is that if even with the rebound and both Lady A and Reba rebounding going back to positive audience by week's end there is a slight chance that the numbers total may put LadyA back above Reba since they less than 2 million AI apart right now and Lady A just may catch up to her. But looking at the increase # right now that seems unlikely since Reba's increase in audience compared to yesterday is greater than Lady A. And Dierks still looks too far away from Reba unless Dierks gets a huge increase by week's end

I'm leaving for Disney World tomorrow morning, so I don't know when the chart will next be updated. It will be updated by the 13th at the latest, but I might try to get in an update or two before then (the internet is $10/day at Disney, and I won't be in my room much).

Say 'hi' to Mickey. And DON'T worry about Pulse. It'll be tough but we'll be fine without updates until your return.
