Rowdawg I noticed that your Billboard AI #'s for last week don't match the #'s at R&R website which is confusing. Yeah, I didn't update the chart last night after the new Billboard chart came out. It should be all set now. Edit: Thanks to Zazie for providing me with some Mediabase numbers I was missing.

On Mediabase today "Don't Blink" is #1 with fewer spins and fewer impressions than "Love Me If You Can." How does that work?

On Mediabase today "Don't Blink" is #1 with fewer spins and fewer impressions than "Love Me If You Can." How does that work? All in the formula. Perhaps "Don't Blink" has more weighted spins than Toby does. There's several variables that would take a while to explain.. if you're interested let me, or one of several others, know and we'll try to hash it out to you.

Billboard/R&R trimmed down the country chart starting this week. 22 stations were removed while only 3 were added dropping the total stations count to 111. Spins and audience will be down across the board on the chart this week.

Thanks for the info.

That's what Hit Predictor says (and, Hit Predictor is almost always accurate to the actual Billboard/R&R chart), and yes, Hit Predictor has her at #5, behind Kenny, Toby, Tim, and Dierks.

It'll be interesting to check out next weeeks issue of BB and find out why the panel was slashed, but I'd hazard a guess that too many stations aren't playing enough currents.

Rascal Flatts can't go recurrent for another four weeks since it is only 16 weeks old. Songs have to be over 20 weeks old to go recurrent on Billboard (which is also the reason why "Never Wanted Nothing More" is still on the chart). Brooks & Dunn will be going recurrent this week.

"Never Wanted Nothing More" is 20 weeks old right now, so it's eligible to go recurrent this week (although that's a little up in the air right now since it has only lost 30k on Mediabase this week). Rascal Flatts still has another four weeks on the chart, then it will go recurrent.

Updated for today.
We have some extremely close races this week, especially the 9 through 11 spots. Those three spots are separated by 18k in my projections.

Wow, if Carrie doesn't get moving, there's a possibility that Garth will pass her up. It'll be interesting to see how quickly Kenny, Toby, and Tim tumble out of the top 5. So far it looks like Dierks will get #2 and Carrie will slide to #4.

Well, if you're chart trends hold true, looks like Carrie will eek out a week at #1 before/if Garth gets to the top spot. With his concert run starting this week, it will be interesting to see how his single is affected.

For the 11/25 projections, where are #'s 55-60? I don't include every song on my chart since many songs in the 50s never make the top 40. For example, I've never put Bomshel's "The Power Of One" on my chart because it's not doing much (it's at #58 after 8 weeks). Most of the time I include the top 48-50 songs plus songs by big artists that haven't charted yet or songs by big artists that are in the 51-60 range. Also, I can only fit 57 songs at one time on my computer screen, so I never include more than 57 songs on the chart.

Looks like the Mediabase panel change that was mentioned in this week's edition of Country Aircheck has now been applied. Most (if not all) songs saw a significant increase in audience on this afternoon's Mediabase update. A majority of the top 10 songs gained over 500k.
I'll try to adjust the ratios on my chart this week so the projected Billboard audience won't be so off, but I'm not sure how it will come out.

Why are all of the bullets on Mediabase so high? Holiday play fell off days ago.

Why are all of the bullets on Mediabase so high? Holiday play fell off days ago. The bullets are so high because the holiday airplay has fallen off. All non-holiday songs got virtually no airplay on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so the bullets shot up after those two days were taken out.

Like I said, though, the holiday play fell off a few days ago. It's been a week and a half since Christmas, so that shouldn't be affecting the daily charts.

But you have to remember how it works. It's comparing the plays to last week on Monday, which would have been reflecting on Christmas Eve. So last Monday, each song would have been negatively bulleted. So, not only have the songs gained since then, they've gained what they lost. So the chart thinks that every song has doubled in plays when they haven't. But you can't just divide the bullets by two because not ever song has gained proportionally and not every song has gained since last Monday. I hope that didn't confuse you.

Yeah, but the bullets compare the last seven days (12/28-1/3) to the previous seven days (12/21-12/27). Christmas and Christmas Eve are still included in those previous seven days, which explains the large bullets. Edit: Never mind, beaten by two people. :)

LOL, beaten by three people! I'll just say rolling, as in a rolling 7-day chart.
New year, new thanks to rowdawg for keeping this chart updated daily :)
