There’s a similar show on Sirius/XM Prime Country where Mike Terry counts down the Billboard Top 30 for the corresponding week during a year in the 1980s or 90s (he usually alternates the two decades). Last week he featured the chart from one week earlier than the week featured on this week’s ACC Rewind (July 31, 1999). I’m sure that’s just a coincidence; I don’t believe the two shows are related. I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but this week the show looks back to 1982.

Yeah, the Mike Terry countdown is okay but is far inferior to Bob's countdown. Mike adds in a few tidbits here and there about what was happening in the world during that week in history, but he's simply trying to get through the 30 songs in two hours. I agree that it's nice to have an additional countdown, although a lot of the 1980's charts are pretty crazy, and the songs are really dated.

Maybe it could work for three hours given that prior to 1986 ACC used to count the 40 songs all in a three hour span.
Anyway, this week they rewinded to August 12, 1995 (that doesn't include Bob's signoff at the end again for another week). Here is what the full chart looked like:

August 15, 1998 is now ready on the CT40 website, and I had to message them about the cutting off the signoff/credits and going to the female voiceover directly after the outro to #1 on their FB page. Speaking of this show, this chart features a rare occurrence with the Top 5 songs occupying by women or co-owned by women, something that wasn't done since 1980. Today unfortunately there are too few women on the charts which I would like to see change sometime soon...

In addition to this, when announcing Dixie Chicks at #1, he made mention of them setting the record for week at #1 by a song by a female band. There hasn't been many but were apparently much more popular in the 1940s and 1950s.

Little did we know about 4 1/2 years later that they would be temporarily banned, mainly from Cumulus Media radio stations because of that insulting comment.
Well anyway, this week's rewind show this time is from August 23, 1997, and I got an official response from the closing credits removal on the CT40 FB page when I asked them about it. Here it is:
"Graig, the ending credits are removed from ACC Rewind for a number of reasons. One reason is for time to include the disclaimers through out the show about it being a "Rewind show from this week back in..." Also all of the info in the closing credits is old and shouldn't be mentioned on air to include: sponsors, people's names, and a mailing address that no longer exists. Shawn/GM"
I'm surprised though that Premiere still continues to do it for the 70s and 80s AT40 shows for now... only time will tell if they will be on the same boat as ACC Rewind in the near future.

I can see their reasoning, especially if some names that were spoken at the end are still in the industry, perhaps for a competitor. I'd be more interested in getting all 40 songs. Those 31-40 are golden most weeks.

Well Premiere took about 5 years or so to make the first hour for the October 1978-1979 shows on AT40 as an optional thing, so maybe that could be the case here, or longer. In the meantime, September 4, 1993 is the show for this week (and around the same timeframe, a special show was done too).
Here's the full chart including the missing songs from 31-40:

A little late here, but September 7, 1991's show is now available on the website for enjoyment (which contained the #1 A-Z archives back then as well). Here is the full chart:

Well, this week is a first for the rewind show, a repeat from 9/17/1994 that was aired back in 2015. Hopefully we won't see too many repeated shows that were already aired, as a lot of new shows are still left in the can, and that 9/24/1994 was guest hosted, that show makes it unairable.
This was my post back then: 2nd time 1994 is being played (and so soon), with September 17, 1994 featured. Here is the chart for that week:

Back to a new show this week and it is from September 22, 1990. Here is the chart (note the faster turnover compared to later years, although still fewer top 40 hits than pre-1990):

New show this week, this time from October 7, 2000. Here is the chart and notice how songs from #25-38 all showed an increase. I can't remember if that was the record for in a row inside the 40 (even though the rewind show currently gives us 30, plus some older extras).

Well, another rerun is being played this week from 10/17/1992 that was last aired in 2015. And that time 1992 was played in a span of two weeks, like 2003 was as well. I have a gut feeling that won't be the case this year given that 2002-2005 shows are out of the rewind show for now.

This week's show they are going back to October 19, 1996. Still cutting out the closing credits though at the end.
Anyway, here is the full chart for the week:

A new ACC Rewind show is on the website, this time going back to October 27, 2001. So far, ever since WW1 (the one who distributes the show) dropped the 2002-05 shows back more than 2 years ago for reasons unknown, this is the latest year for now they can air.
Here is the chart for that week, just 60 songs (and I think a few may have been edited for time constraints like in the later years of the Bob Kingsley era):

New show now available on the CT40 website, this time from November 1, 1997. Given that the NASH Icon stations (and a few non-ones) usually don't play full Christmas music until the eve of it, regular shows should still be in existence.
Here is the full chart and notice how the women were getting full treatment and fairness back then. I still am waiting for them to give us the full four hours someday to the affiliates...

Time to go one more year ahead, to November 7, 1998 as this week's show. Here is the top 10 that week:
10. I Wanna Feel That Way Again - Tracy Byrd (LW #11)
9. Everything's Changed - Lonestar (LW #2)
8. Don't Laugh At Me - Mark Wills (LW #6)
7. Where The Green Grass Grows - Tim McGraw (LW #4)
6. A Little Past Little Rock - Lee Ann Womack (LW #9)
5. Forever Love - Reba McEntire (LW #7)
4. Honey, I'm Home - Shania Twain (LW #1)
3. You Move Me - Garth Brooks (LW #8)
2. How Do You Fall In Love - Alabama (LW #5)
1. Wide Open Spaces - Dixie Chicks (LW #3)
And the full chart can be seen here:

New show along the way, this time from November 20, 1993 where the ACC Archives are wrapping up on the "I" titles (that was finished on November 27). Hard to believe that it took almost a full year or thereabouts to complete when the archives were from the past 25 years from 1966-1990.
Anyway, full chart for this week:

Of course WW1 doesn't want us to figure out what the chart date is, but rather use this week in a certain year. However, I can figure out the exact chart date by checking the Billboard chart archives and figuring out what song was at what position and whether if it moved, dropped, or held steady. In this case, they are rewinding back to November 23, 1991 this week that is now on the CT40 website, a week before AT40 switched charts from the Hot 100 to the airplay chart. Thankfully, ACC didn't have to change charts or switch to R&R for the Bob Kingsley era.
Speaking of which, here is the full chart:

A little bit of a delay, but December 2, 1995's show is now up on the website, when it was near the end of the ACC Archives feature which contained 80s and 90s hits at the time, plus this chart here:
I'm thinking next week will be 1999 given that it hasn't been played since August, and 12/11 seems likely a possibility. Even 12/4 could also work but if that year doesn't get played on the regular shows, it would likely be a year-end show this year.

Looks like the country airplay chart has reverted to only showing 60 songs regardless of year now (2001 on shows all 60).
Still no 1999 yet that could unless if we squeak one more in regularly, be the year-ender this year. Meanwhile, December 10, 1994 is this week's show with the chart that contains some women in the Top 20 compared to today (4 of them):

I think WW1 picked this week's rewind show from December 15, 1990 to be in honor of the 41st President who passed away a few weeks ago, in advance. This was mentioned prior to the #1 song that week, but anyway, as usual here is what the chart looked like:
I think there will be one more regular show after this and then the year-end to close it out. I think 1999 will be the likely candidate given that it hasn't been played since early August, but you never know what WW1 will do.

The second week of five at #1 for "I've Come to Expect From You", arguably his 3rd biggest single on the charts. I'm not sure why this song is overlooked when discussing George's best all-time songs because it's fantastic.

I'm not sure why this song is overlooked when discussing George's best all-time songs because it's fantastic. I have I've Come To Expect It From You as George Strait's third biggest hit as well. I ranked his ten biggest hits back in February, 2010. The list: 7. THEIR TEN BIGGEST: Let's review. Al Dexter had the most #1 hits between 1944-1948. Then Eddy Arnold had the most between 1948-1980. Conway Twitty took over between 1980-2006. Now, we have come to the current artist with the most #1s over the past three and a half years, George Strait. These are his ten biggest. First number is weeks at #1, followed by the second number-weeks in the top 40. 1. Love Without End, Amen-1990-5-20 2. One Night At A Time-1997-5-20 3. I've Come To Expect It From You-1990-5-19 4. Write This Down-1999-4-32 5. Check Yes Or No-1995-4-18 6. Carrying Your Love With Me-1997-4-16 7. The Best Day-2000-3-27 8. I Just Want To Dance With You-1998-3-21 9. You Know Me Better Than That-1991-3-19 10. Carried Away-1996-3-14

Sometimes I still do hear it on my local radio station when the 90s are featured around the lunchtime period. Anyway, going to the end of the 90s where the show featured this week is from December 25, 1999. However it was hard back then to find a station that played the show (because of Christmas music), with the exception of Sunday for stations that returned to normal programming. Due to the nature of it this chart was compiled within a 7-10 day period ahead of time.
Here is what it looked like that week:
I think next week will be a year-end special like the past two years (that will air the last 3 hours of the program).

As per usual when we get to the end of the year, a year-end show is offered like the last two years. This one is no exception, and features the Top 100 songs of 1993 (albeit the last three hours of the program). While the CT40 website counts this as this week in 1994 because it aired on January 1, 1994, songs were from 1993 (and a few from late 1992) with none from 1994, therefore I consider this as a 1993 show. This was the last year out of the few years to exclusively use Billboard, as 1994 onward they would use their own method because some #1 songs were ranked lower (still in the #1 montage) or off the charts.
Here is the cue sheet:
The chart for that week was not frozen when they stopped doing that in 1992, so here is what it looked like had they used it:

Sorry for the long wait, but for the new year the rewind show takes us back to a new show from January 5, 1991. They actually left the closing credits (most of them intact) but they did cut the old sponsors out this week.
Chart wise, here is what it was like:

Time for a new show to rewind to with the update of the CT40 website and this time it is from January 10, 1998. The first two songs of the missing first hour as explained in the cue sheet were mention only due to the fact Christmas was elapsed and it wouldn't make sense to play them in January.
And the more complete chart that week had more holiday music south of 40.
