Glassnote’s Mumford & Sons are headed for a #1 bow on next week’s HITS Album Sales and SPS charts, with their Wilder Mind album count in the 250-275k range. “The Wolf,” the second single from the banjo-free album, is currently Top 20 at Alternative radio. Will it cross to Pop? The band’s prior set, 2013’s Babel, bowed with 600k and has moved 3.1m TEA release to date. Their debut full-length, Sigh No More, bowed with 5k and has moved 3.9m TEA to date. I predicted around 275-300k due to everything, but this is still definitely a good showing. They weren't gonna top the hype they had 3 years ago.

Good numbers. Wonder why they are going to be opening with much lower numbers though...

3 years off, new sound, underwhelming single(s)...still good numbers. It'll be great if they can make it to 1.5 million.
Interesting to see them cite TEA numbers for Babel and Sigh No More.

I think those are pretty good numbers. They aren't as big as they were when babel came out. But their new songs are awesome from the 2 I've heard.

3 years off, new sound, underwhelming single(s)...still good numbers. I am a displeased stan who doesn't like their new musical direction, so seeing the "underwhelming singles" piece, I can definitely identify with that

They became so identified with the alt/folk banjo driven stuff on Babel that I'm not surprised some of the fans they picked up then were a little turned off with the new album. But the fact that they can move 250k+ without a crossover single is good.

They had an identity, as polarizing as it was, and then they gave it up to sound like other bands.

I'm scared to see Ciara's prediction.

I'm scared to see Ciara's prediction. She probably is too. I'd put her in the 15-20 range, tbh. And that's probably being pretty generous.

Looking forward to Chris Stapleton's numbers. I think he can make top 10, at least for the sales-based chart.

Speaking of Ciara I was going to get her new cd at Newbury Comics but it was full price. UGH, it was however on sale at Best Buy but I only had a Newbury Comics GC and a few bucks on me. How does sales pricing work through the label or record company. I would have thought first day of release Ciara or most artists would be on sale at most stores who sell Cd's still.

Mumford & Sons Set for Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart
By Keith Caulfield | May 06, 2015 7:13 PM EDT
Rock band Mumford & Sons is on track for its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as Wilder Mind is winging its way to a chart-topping debut. Industry forecasters suggest the album — which was released May 4 through Gentlemen of the Road/Glassnote Records — could move over 260,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, May 13.
Mumford & Sons previously led the list with its last album, 2012’s Babel, which debuted at No. 1 and sold 600,000 copies in its first week (according to Nielsen Music). It spent its first three weeks at No. 1, and then later returned to the top (for two more frames) a few months later, following its Grammy Award win for album of the year. Babel has sold 2.7 million to date.
Wilder Mind was led by the single “Believe,” which has spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Songs and Alternative Songs charts. It also reached No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Other albums heading for high debuts next week include the Now 54 compilation (which could shift over 70,000 units), Tech N9ne’s Special Effects (60,000) and My Morning Jacket’s The Waterfall (30,000).

Did you ask an employee if Ciara was on sale? Actually No but maybe I should of. At the location I was at I don't even think they care all that much about the cd's. I think they had 1 copy of "Ciara's latest in the new release section and it was the only one that didn't have a Sales sticker. I don't even think it was on their release schedule they had posted above their new releases. (I could be wrong though)

Tech N9ne Set for His Fourth Top 10 Album on Billboard 200 Chart NewsBy Keith Caulfield | May 08, 2015 5:15 PM EDT
Rapper Tech N9ne is set to collect his fourth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart next week with his latest release, Special Effects. Industry forecasters suggest the album, which was released on May 4 through Strange Music, might move over 60,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10.
Mumford & Sons Set for Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart
Tech N9ne has visited the top 10 three times previously, most recently with 2014’s Strangeulation. He also hit the region with 2013’s Something Else and 2011’s All 6’s & 7’s.
Next week’s likely new No. 1 will be Mumford & Sons’ Wilder Mind, which is predicted to bow atop the list with over 260,000 units. It will give the rock band its second chart-topper, following 2012’s Babel.
Also heading for the top 10 is the latest Now That’s What I Call Music compilation, Now 54. The set could launch with 70,000 units. (All 53 of the numbered Now compilations have reached the top 10, and every volume since the second has debuted in the region.

If Zach Brown's album does around 50K in sales, that would be ~a 77% dip, which is becoming more common these days.

*Tech N9ne (Strange Music) 55-60k, 60-65k
For an independent act, he has been consistent for years. His touring schedules are just insane which helps him keep his following.

Hope BB gives a real boost to this, so it can go 5.5 in US and be her 2nd most selling album

Ciara will struggle to reach top 20 on BB200, shame It is definitely a shame. I don't think she would be seeing numbers like this if her music wasn't so inconsistent. "I Bet" is a decent-sized hit, so I was hoping that would bump sales a bit more.

Yes the album is definitely performing worse than one would think based on the reception of I Bet... Maybe streaming/dl's will help it in the long run.
