^But, I mean, it did fine. Ok so it didn't go top 10 but it performed a ton better than "Pray To God" or "Thinking About You", which radio just didn't know what to do with. Whereas this I feel like it was actually embraced, given its proper chance and was allowed to do what it would do.
I'll take top 15 for a song that I did think was going to be "too house" for Pop.

Please don't bash me for ignorance but I have a question. Why do djs get the kind of credit they do on their songs more so than any other song writer. Why is it always something like Calvin Harris featuring so and so or David Gueta featuring so and so?? I'm really just curious.

Since it's their track and the vocalist(s) are featured on the track so it's often credited like that. Most of the producers/DJs don't sing on their own tracks so this is how it happens. It's good that some of them do actually credit their featured vocalists because some do not (like most of the Avicii ones or David Guetta leaving Bebe Rexha off of "Hey Mama" for part of its run).

I understand that it's their track. But I'm trying to understand how that is different than say for example Max Martin writing a song for Taylor Swift and that's not labeled as Max Martin featuring Taylor Swift? What makes these djs different in that regard?

Because Max Martin isn't a dj. He doesnt go out there and spin his own tracks for an audience that goes out to see him (this is very much an EDM thing), he sells them to other artists so that they release stuff under their own name. Calvin and other dj's can do the same thing, in fact they do produce songs for others and sell them, but I guess they keep the songs they want for themselves too. Whether the vocalist gets featured on the credits or not is up to the producer, and their agreement. Obviously if they get credit or not, their paid for their job. If its a really unknown singer, they'll get paid for singing but no credit because they dont have to. If its a really famous singer, most likely the producer/dj will feature them because its in their own best interest to have a big name attatched to their song.

Actually, the credits could go either way. I mean, it's not necessary to be a well-known singer to be featured on a track by a producer/DJ and this applies specifically to Avicii because his team wants the GP to see him as the main/lead artist. As a side note, to complement your point of the unknown singers, they are usually songwriters, so they will be paid for that too. That said, most of the times they prefer to be seen in that way instead of vocalists, so they tell the producer/DJ to not be credited as the featured act.

Well obviously I know that unknown singers can be featured, Sash! credited most of his singers whether they were known or not, such as La Trec or Shannon - but then a few of his stuff didnt - such as With My Own Eyes where the singer was Inka. However, if its a famous singer, the likehood that they'll be featured is a lot higher.

If it's really done this time, it has definitely done a lot better than most were expecting a few months ago. I mean living in New York, you'd think this is a much bigger hit, but that's with most dance songs.

It's done: removed from AllAccess (so was "Love Myself"). You forgot that it wasn't mentioned on Columbia's latest promo newsletter too. :( If it's really done this time, it has definitely done a lot better than most were expecting a few months ago. That's so true. My expectations were the same as some people have been mentioned here: to outpeak "Thinking About You" and "Pray to God" and I'm glad it happened. I wish it would have done better, but I'll take it. I hope this climbs slightly on the Hot 100 tomorrow before it starts the drop. Let's see what happens tomorrow, but I'm not too confident about this to be honest. However, I want to be proved wrong. Having said that, I think that a #27 peak on the Billboard Hot 100 is good though.

Calvin Harris is set to make his US TV debut on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon next Friday, so there's a chance that he will perform a new track there if it's considered that "How Deep Is Your Love", his latest single with Disciples, is practically done.
